Thanks for the heads up. temperature is 28 celcius, DO is 5ppm
@@RASAquaculture yes.. same as i use here. I used water temperature beetween 28.2°celcius till 30°celcius and DO > 4 ppm

i have a suggestion ... place a go pro during or before the shedding of skin .. so that we could avoid irrational hypothesis.. check ph lvl of water or temp...
What are the signs to see before my crap molt?
Cant you tell me the ideal for the stand pipa ( water level is )..how long ( cm ) the stand pipe is..
Rather than speculating on the issues. Put a CCTV camera to observe any PHYSICAL ISSUES.
1. Physical Environmentt issues. - aka lack of friction or anchor points - AKA moulting takes place in MUD/SAND in the wild
2. Large crabs no space? Maybe it needs more anchor points.
3. A sample of the water should also be taken and the parameters recorded
4.A record of the food eaten by the crab should also follow any investigation.

they are not moulting as they should because they are living literally in hell, in a small blue plastic cage, living with their own shit and without enough water as u mentioned before. such a cruel and painful dead for mr crab, I can't imagine how many of them has the same tragic future... just release them back to nature and hunt them from time to time. You greedy animals.

Moulting will be challenging for female crabs beyond 500 kg , also bottom of box , water levels should also be monitored

Be better if crab had ruff bottom in stead of smooth.

Adding ENOUGH FINE SEA SAND would allow the crab to extricate itself. The sand is heavy so most of it will stay.
The box should be designed so that it is much deeper to hold the sand and prevent runoff.
Cutting fish on an daily basis is not labour friendly and concern about flys , smell etc , so my alternatives are fish balls ,ham toppings on pizza or chicken toppings on pizza. Can you advise us, if crabs can eat these alternative feed ?
we use fish bcs its save cost a lot. It is labour friendly , just cut the fish for 1 week feed , put it container and after done with feeding can put inside the freezer :)

Hi sir , we will dissemble the box for cleaning. For uneaten food , we will take it out everyday before close the farm.

We would not recommend that because it might cause diseases to spread among crabs

Might just be an old crab they starve themselves for more than a months sometimes they don't have then energy to molt so sometimes die

What would water level have to do with the death of an animal that can spent substantial amounts of time on land near a water source
Correlation (events that happen at the same time)
Causation (thing that made something happen)
Correlation does not equal causation
Crabs can breath under water and as long as those gills remain fairly moist they can breath air on land
Highly unlikely that mostly submerged in water, low water level caused death
More likely there was a health issue and the energy used for molting resulted in death
If you have multiple crabs of different ages dying all at the same time during molt then you have an issue
If you lower water levels on multiple different sized crabs and they die in molt THEN you know it’s water level
The water level is extremely important because if the crab is not submerged it can’t get enough water in to the shell… it needs it to help crack the back open. It should be completely submerged. It’s not about whether it can survive submerged in water or not, that wouldn’t matter if it was not on molt.
Do you use sea water in your system.
We use artificial salt to maintain salinity
