I was 14 when AC2 went free. Prior to that, I have not really played a lot of games cause my laptop was really bad. To this day, it runs AC2 at 20 fps give or take at lowest setting. But it instantly becomes my favorite. The parkour, despite how the bazillion time I have jumped off the building and die, is still very enjoyable. The only game i have on my PC, is AC Unity. I don't even consider myself a gamer, and although i know (and love) the old AC's stories, Unity was my dream game to play with. Couldn't care less about Paris, but all that freedom, and style, and exploration are exactly what drew me in. I totally agree with your AC fantasy, this is the main thing in these games. Not sure if i've seen any of your videos before, but this one was hilarious, i really enjoyed it. I was 9 years old, back in 2013. Got my first console, the PS3. Before I got it I saw AC1 on a shelf in a store. I fell in love with it when I saw the box art and read descriptions. It was my first ever game, so many memories that sparked the love I have for the franchise now. I loved this video, and I am happy to be a part of the same community as you and all the other Homies brother!
what makes me love about Assassin's Creed franchise are the storyline, parkour and even the community. Each Ac games there's always community for one of them and im lovin it
I do love the stories when they are good. But a great story feels like a nice bonus to me. It's always gameplay first for me. The community is awesome, I've talked with so many cool people since starting this channel!
For me, assassin's Creed was always a part of my life. I was born in 04 so ac2 was out when I was 3, and I started gaming as early as 5 years old, and watching my parents play, and later getting to play for myself I fell in love. For me it was always the story, the philosophy, and the historical tourism I loved. This game sparked my love of history. And as a kid I wanted to be an assassin. I think that's why I love odyssey, it has all of the reasons I fell in love with the series in abundance.
I remember my first look at assassins creed being a spoof from a gaming magazine. It was Game Infarcer Assassin’s Creek. In that single image that was a spoof of the real thing, I knew this franchise was going to shape me.
Bro, you made me feel nostalgic. I was seven years old when the first AC came out, and I just got my first computer. My mom and dad divorced when I was 2, and I didn't have anything; my cousins had PCs, and I was always jealous of them. Whenever we went to my aunt's, I never wanted to leave because I wanted to play GTA Vice City too. My mother entered a job, and one day she said, 'Come help me carry the groceries from the car.' I was like, 'Okay, Mom, I'm coming.' Then she opened the trunk and there was a pc..., and I was so shocked; my dreams were true. Of course, at that time, AC hadn't even launched, but I was busy destroying Prince of Persias, whatever. Then AC1 came out in 2007; well, I downloaded a pirated copy of it. Yeah, me, a 7-year-old downloading pirated games, and yeah, my first AC was pirated. Actually, I played all the ACs till Odyssey pirated; then I bought all of them for my collection. I never took a break from playing AC; there was always an AC on my computer. And whenever a new one gets announced, I still get so excited; it's my favorite thing. This game series really helped me get through a lot in life; these characters were my idols; they made me who I am today. I feel so blessed for meeting AC, and I became the guy who enjoys this type of games-stealth, free roam, parkour. For example, Batman Arkham series, Splinter Cell, etc. And nobody told me, 'You're gonna be evil; you'll see blood from those games,' no, because there was no one for me. I was all alone all my life; these games kept me going. Thanks to these games I learned english and loved different cultures also learned about the world so yeah thank you Assassin's Creed.
Cool story! So many of us have these old AC memories from when we were so young. It's pretty cool. Glad I was able to make you feel nostalgic, It's fun to reflect on the journey sometimes.
I agree with this video, I don't know if parkour was this important and I didn't see many differences between the games I've played but yeah sure nice video bro
I always loved this franchise. It has like a special place in my heart, it's one of the few franchises i'll probably stay forever And man, gotta say I loved Ezio collection so much, but Mirage also wasn't that bad I played ac1 on my friend's ps3 couple months ago and it was completely fine and fun. I couldn't play it before cuz i didn't have proper console to play it on, like i never had ps3 or xbox, but i got my ps5 this year And i really hope for ac1 remaster, like they SHOULD do it, i can't imagine how many sales there would be and how many copies would they sell
I got into the AC franchise around the beginning of last year, and I began by playing the games out of order😅, but I really enjoyed them all. I’m currently playing & finishing the games in sequential order starting with AC 1, and so far it’s been great. Altair is my favorite Assassin tho by far, he’s just badass
i have been playing ac for roughly 10-12 years. my why for ac is just the fun and freedom of movement, also the stealth could be better yes but it is still fun.
I played assassin's creed with Altair for the first time and loved it but I never was able to buy them all so never got the Ezio trilogy but AC 3 is my favorite and I plan on playing all the games now
Great vid, man -- really brought me back. Wish Ubi would do a true remaster of the Ezio trilogy AND bring back multiplayer! I heard they're doing something similar for BF, fingers crossed.
Damn I remember when u had 100 followers a few months ago and i watched ur videos I can't understand why didn't i subscribe back then but this video got me to do it.
Hahaha bro, I couldn't keep myself from laughfing when you mentioned how much it took you to convince your mom to let you play it. That narrative about a game turning you evil is such a classic from those years. Here in Mexico my grandma used to say to me that all that stuff was from the devil and it will corrupt my mind😂
For sure. Especially as games got more and more realistic, I remember seeing stuff on the news telling parents games were going to turn their kids into violent criminals.
Same here except I started with black flag. Then went back to AC3 and then all the ezio games (my younger self thought AC 2 was the first games for some reason so I didn’t play AC1).
I love hearing about other peoples' journeys with AC. I still remember I was also 13 when I started with the series and I remember thinking Altair was the coolest video game character I'd ever seen. I didn't really dive deep into the parkour until many years later but there was a level of depth to the system in the classic games that really revolutionized the way I played when I realized it. Ejects became a regular part of traversal from then on. What got me into the series though was the unique mix of history and sci-fi as well as the whole mysterious Illuminati atmosphere that the games had back in the classic days. I hope the series goes back to that tone at some point and that Ubisoft puts some more effort into the story and philosophy in the games. I feel like the series has yet to reach its full potential story-wise and gameplay-wise because of the "one step forward, two steps back" approach they keep taking. Downgraded parkour, the removal of gadgets and social stealth until Mirage, the loss of the recruits, etc. Anyways, great video! I hope you do more long form commentary videos about the series in the future.
Glad you liked it man. There was so much mystery and sci fi weirdness back then, I also hope it returns. I'm sure I'll occasionally make videos like this when I feel like I have something worth saying.
Dude, i was thinking, "You were 13 in 2007? You are old" then i realized i was 15 in 2007 and now im the one thats old 😅 And i was obviously 17 in 2009 which is when i bought AC2 and AC1 since my parents also were the "no M games till you're the age is says"
Ironically, I feel the same about these games and couldn't explain why. I was conflicted why as a teenager I was obsessed with AC and throughout the years I lost interest. Either way, it is true that the series is about freedom expressed with parkour and style, plus the storylines were quite kickass. The main problem in my opinion has to do with the unstable state the first releases are in nowadays plus that combat seems to be sluggish like you poke a leaf with cotton. Last but not least let's not forget to say that it has become an extravaganza the constant attempt to make games 80 or more than a hundred hours long with forced or uninteresting missions. I would love to play a solid 30-hour adventure of pure gold content over and over.
I try to find something to love about every ac game. They all have something to offer, but I agree, their rpg format needs work. Hoping red will stick the landing.
9:07 *"assassin's creed is about freedom"* this is what i think so many people miss when analyzing this series. it is about freedom, but in multiple ways. not just freedom of movement or expression, but freedom of will and thought, the Assassin Order's Creed and purpose are preserving humanity's ability to choose, and teaching it's followers to see through lies and artificial systems, and to only be limited by things that ACTUALLY limit you, "Nothing is True, Everything is Permitted" does not mean there are no rules and you have no responsibility, but that your responsibility is to create your own rules and guidelines for yourself based on objective truths, not feeble manmade truths, it's not a license that says you can do anything, it's a responsibility that you CAN do anything and must do so WISELY by seeing through deceptions and regulating/enforcing your OWN ethics. it's about being master of your own will and slave to no one else's unless by choice. free will and choice are the things the assassins are trying to preserve against the templars who wish to subvert it in favor of a peaceful enslavement, because the assassins believe we can reach the same peaceful ends on our own by choice, and that attempting to force it onto us against our will may work short term, but will always eventually lead to suffering/oppression and inevitably, violent revolt. but if we choose it for ourselves, it will last. the game's lore and themes are ultimately about free will and critical thinking, things in short supply lately, it seems like sometimes. in AC1, Altair starts out with no respect or understanding of the creed and violates all of it's tenets within the first 5 minutes, his master Al-Mualim proceeds to set him on his path learning the true meaning and value of the Creed, and by the time Al-Mualim's betrayal is made clear, Al- Mualim did too good a job teaching Altair, he now understands the meaning and value of the creed and has internalized it, and would never side with Al-Mualim's attempt to destroy freewill. like you said about seeing the trailer for AC1 and thinking "This is important", i agree with that gut assessment, not just as important to you on instinct, but i think the assassin's creed series, the first half dozen at the least, are arguably one of the more important game series of our time. the game is about expression, like you said, but you can't express yourself freely without freedom, and man cannot be free unless he is capable of THINKING FREELY.
@@Ropotopolous what can i say? I was a little older, but i joined the Brotherhood back in the Holy Land, same as you. while you were dissecting the spiritual core of the mechanics, i was dissecting the story and lore around the creed itself. i love hearing people talk about first playing AC1. that first cinematic had most of us from the moment the bell rang. i remember when the game first came out, they didn't show or say anything about the animus or the modern day stuff(the only hint was that single memory glitch in the cinematic as he vanishes behind the scholars/holy men), and a lot of people felt like they fell for a bait and switch, and while some were put off and bailed, most of them changed that tune once they saw what the game was doing.
i had identical but when i could actually play the entire series i was like 18 years old got my first pc and so i brought most ac games the only one i don't have is ac odyssey cause i don't like it sadly before owning classics like Ezio trilogy or even unity i had valhalla the worst mistake i ever did i could have spend the money on better but i thought newer is better sadly bad karma got me and now its the second game on ubi connect with how long i spended time in (hell) and because of valhalla i don't like playing long games anymore and because of that i have problems with playing the witcher 3. thankfully i spended way more time in mirage
I loved that story, im sadly a new ac fan i started playing in june of 2023 i found alll the games ( but ac1) on the ps plus and i was bored, ac2 was my first ac2 game, lets just say this game got me addicted to ac where i finished the games one after another and got to a point where i didn't play other games for a long time lol but overall i hated this series after syndicate then loved it again after origins (the only tolerable rpg ac game imo) and im enjoying mirage
Hell yeah I'm glad to have some more "experienced" folks in my audience. The downward spiral is probably my favorite album of all time. Totally changed my understanding of what music can be and changed the way I listen to music forever.
@@Ropotopolous "Experienced" is very polite for a guy who started gaming as a boy in the 80's on his brothers Atari console. Legendary Pacman was my first gaming experience. Later I played a lot of strategy games like C&C, CIV, Adventures like Monkey Island, Sam and Max, RPG's like Gothic and The Witcher Triology. The Batman games and so on. AC I discovered quite late for me. 2018 or 2019. But in the meantime I played them all aside of Valhalla.

Seems almost like the more your mother banned you, the more you wanted to play it. I didn't play the games at launch I think, I hadn't heard of them. So, this is making a short story long but it's kind of a nice one: Back when I was in College (UK sense, not university), I was on a digital media course so a lot of it was spent in an IT suite room. Getting started with a new college/university etc. can be a bit disorienting so to develop a sense of routine I would always sit at the same computer though I could log into any PC in the room besides the tutor's. I assume my later-friend had the same idea as he would sit to my right and that was how we became friends. It was nice as we could give each other feedback on each other's projects and assist each other. We'd also hang out in the nearby shopping centre area etc. during lunch break. Anyway, he mentioned Assassin's Creed to me and I had a look at some gameplay and thought it was interesting, it was actually the carriage chase scene from one of the games not sure. I bought AC2 second-hand thinking that AC1 might be too old but when I tried to play, I couldn't figure out the controls, especially as the way they are described near the beginning is super confusing so I bought AC1 and played them in order.
Since then, I've played most of them mostly in order (Odyssey then Origins in that order) on my PC, though I'm going by when special offers crop up as they're expensive at full price. Thank you for reading my TED talk :P
I have one question did you like Odyssey or did you not because well a lot of people hate it even though it's not that bad if you don't think about the name I mean I don't mind the name but a lot of people do I'm saying if they didn't like it and it's not that bad just wondering if you like it or not
@@Ropotopolous that's fair I can understand it can get boring but I can't stand when ppl bash on it coz the branding when it's not the branding that makes the game bad its because they don't give it a try and when they do they only think of hating the brand but gtk u atleast gave it a try and enjoyed it for at least 15h
I just think AC's has a 10/10 gameplay premise. you just are put into a world with shit to parkour on everywhere and enemy bad guys in forts to stealth. it's very skill based, and just doesn't get old. the better you are at it, the funner it gets. the next assassins creed game is gonna be called "AC, AC, AC"
@white6505 you guys are just jealous cause you were still watching the wiggles and sleeping with a stuffed animals while I was already assassinating dudes and doin sweet parkour moves. Just playin.
Sorry for the late reply but the name of the manhwa (korean comic) is Assasin's Creed:Forgotten Temple basically its a continuation of edward kenway's story I guess
Syndicate's , Origin's and Odyssey's First Ever Trophies on AM time ha ?? Well either u were preeeetty excited and intrigued to play em more than the others for different reasons OR u were pretty downbad and starting playing before dawn idk
@@Ropotopolous Yeeep...I feel ya...I do that to for a year , its fun . It CAN be dangerous but if u control it and DOESNT control YOU , u ll be fine , like I am
Assassin's Creed is better in an urban environment. The wide open natural spaces look great, but don't fit into the mechanics of the essence of the series like cities do.
i do think the franchise is not going anywhere good. i also think the damage done by ubisoft to AC is not reversible. that doesnt mean we stop loving the games we got, or that we stop yearning for the stuff we never got to see. in a sense, the community is more alive than ever, and this can be felt with the pressure that lead to the production of mirage, and the modding scene which is getting very interesting with the parkour mods. seriously, the mods for AC2 make it better than unity.
I'm holding on to hope, trying my hardest to make the most of each game. I am itching to get the new version of that parkour mod but my laptop doesn't like gaming lol
@white6505 yeah dude that's the move. I can edit and all that on my laptop now which I do for bigger projects but for shorter videos I still prefer go straight from console to phone for editing and then to youtube.
I'm a hardcore assassin's Creed fan many years now but I have to say, the fact that they published a new game every year at the beginning was SAD. All of the assassin's Creed are extremely buggy and have a lot of glitches. It's sad.
@@Ropotopolous polished? I recently played ac3 remastered again, like two months ago. After so many years of release, it's still full of bugs and glitches. 20gb of updates for such an old and small game. They were rushed, you can't produce a good game in such a small amount of time, it's very greedy.
I'm honestly surprised that your brother took GTA IV considering if you literally just drove around whenever your mum walked in the room it'll be perfectly fine because that game looks so much like just to driving game if you just get in a car and drive around unless of course you know you run over civilians and commit mass genocide
Your brother broke his disc and your mom probably told him she bought it for you and he low key went and got it lol 🤷🏾♂️the world may never know...but I’ve done shit like that to my little brothers. It’s a big brother thing

I grew up with it and I shall die with it
Take my last breath with the controller in my hand.
@@Ropotopolous 😂
First video I’ve seen from your channel. Enjoyed it, keep up the assassins creed content! Assassin creed has a special place in my heart as well
Glad you liked it! I appreciate the kind words. Seems like A LOT of people ha e fond memories of ac from years past.
I agree with this video, I don't know if parkour was this important and I didn't see many differences between the games I've played but yeah sure nice video bro
Thank you man
I always loved this franchise. It has like a special place in my heart, it's one of the few franchises i'll probably stay forever
And man, gotta say I loved Ezio collection so much, but Mirage also wasn't that bad
I played ac1 on my friend's ps3 couple months ago and it was completely fine and fun. I couldn't play it before cuz i didn't have proper console to play it on, like i never had ps3 or xbox, but i got my ps5 this year
And i really hope for ac1 remaster, like they SHOULD do it, i can't imagine how many sales there would be and how many copies would they sell
Altair is definitely one cool cat.
i have been playing ac for roughly 10-12 years. my why for ac is just the fun and freedom of movement, also the stealth could be better yes but it is still fun.
11:26 Brother NGL this was one of the best if not the best parkour clip I have ever seen on Assassin's Creed mirage 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks man! There's a full version of it on my channel. I think it's called "now I'm just showing off" or something like that.

I played assassin's creed with Altair for the first time and loved it but I never was able to buy them all so never got the Ezio trilogy but AC 3 is my favorite and I plan on playing all the games now
Loved the vid bro, keep making rants lmao
I definitely will when I have something to say haha
Because it’s literally the best franchise
That's a good point.
I've been on my grind. Welcome back, my friend.
cool to hear your story! My childhood was also spent being enamored by cool hood man who climb building :)
Those guys are very captivating
Your voice is so calming tf. w vid
Haha nobody has ever told me that before. Thank you.
@@Ropotopolous haha, yeah. Those were the good all days.
Same here except I started with black flag. Then went back to AC3 and then all the ezio games (my younger self thought AC 2 was the first games for some reason so I didn’t play AC1).
Nowadays, every 2nd UA-camr I run into are born in the same year as me - 1994.😃
Nice video, my man!🙂
94 gang REPRESENT. Thanks dude.
Great video, thank you for this.
Thank you man I really appreciate that. Glad you enjoyed it.
You’re right, why assassins? I prefer the Templars.
We need another game where you play Templar.
Dude, i was thinking, "You were 13 in 2007? You are old" then i realized i was 15 in 2007 and now im the one thats old 😅
And i was obviously 17 in 2009 which is when i bought AC2 and AC1 since my parents also were the "no M games till you're the age is says"
We are old.
@@Ropotopolous indeed, but at least that means we enjoyed the "good old days" of gaming lol
@@droids75 it was a perfect era of gaming to be that age. 360 era.
9:07 *"assassin's creed is about freedom"*
this is what i think so many people miss when analyzing this series. it is about freedom, but in multiple ways. not just freedom of movement or expression, but freedom of will and thought, the Assassin Order's Creed and purpose are preserving humanity's ability to choose, and teaching it's followers to see through lies and artificial systems, and to only be limited by things that ACTUALLY limit you, "Nothing is True, Everything is Permitted" does not mean there are no rules and you have no responsibility, but that your responsibility is to create your own rules and guidelines for yourself based on objective truths, not feeble manmade truths, it's not a license that says you can do anything, it's a responsibility that you CAN do anything and must do so WISELY by seeing through deceptions and regulating/enforcing your OWN ethics. it's about being master of your own will and slave to no one else's unless by choice.
free will and choice are the things the assassins are trying to preserve against the templars who wish to subvert it in favor of a peaceful enslavement, because the assassins believe we can reach the same peaceful ends on our own by choice, and that attempting to force it onto us against our will may work short term, but will always eventually lead to suffering/oppression and inevitably, violent revolt. but if we choose it for ourselves, it will last. the game's lore and themes are ultimately about free will and critical thinking, things in short supply lately, it seems like sometimes.
in AC1, Altair starts out with no respect or understanding of the creed and violates all of it's tenets within the first 5 minutes, his master Al-Mualim proceeds to set him on his path learning the true meaning and value of the Creed, and by the time Al-Mualim's betrayal is made clear, Al- Mualim did too good a job teaching Altair, he now understands the meaning and value of the creed and has internalized it, and would never side with Al-Mualim's attempt to destroy freewill.
like you said about seeing the trailer for AC1 and thinking "This is important", i agree with that gut assessment, not just as important to you on instinct, but i think the assassin's creed series, the first half dozen at the least, are arguably one of the more important game series of our time.
the game is about expression, like you said, but you can't express yourself freely without freedom, and man cannot be free unless he is capable of THINKING FREELY.
Dang brother that was deep.
@@Ropotopolous what can i say? I was a little older, but i joined the Brotherhood back in the Holy Land, same as you. while you were dissecting the spiritual core of the mechanics, i was dissecting the story and lore around the creed itself.
i love hearing people talk about first playing AC1. that first cinematic had most of us from the moment the bell rang. i remember when the game first came out, they didn't show or say anything about the animus or the modern day stuff(the only hint was that single memory glitch in the cinematic as he vanishes behind the scholars/holy men), and a lot of people felt like they fell for a bait and switch, and while some were put off and bailed, most of them changed that tune once they saw what the game was doing.
my first AC game was AC 2 played on my dads laptop.... wasnt a gaming laptop so had to lower it to 640x480 res.. good sad times
Sometimes you gotta use a crappy old laptop for gaming, pink guy. I still do if I want to use the parkour mods.
I was 10 when I played AC black flag and Unity, I don’t think that was good for me but hey I love the game.
It was my favorite game In the PSP
i had identical but when i could actually play the entire series i was like 18 years old got my first pc and so i brought most ac games the only one i don't have is ac odyssey cause i don't like it sadly before owning classics like Ezio trilogy or even unity i had valhalla the worst mistake i ever did i could have spend the money on better but i thought newer is better sadly bad karma got me and now its the second game on ubi connect with how long i spended time in (hell) and because of valhalla i don't like playing long games anymore and because of that i have problems with playing the witcher 3. thankfully i spended way more time in mirage
The same is the case with me. It is the Prince of Persia trilogy
When I found out my favorite AC content creator could be my son. 😂 The Downward Spiral from NIN is an epic album.👍

@liquiddrone650 Good times. I'm just trying to re live the glory days haha
14:43 is that a Jewish house? Haven't seen that marking above the door in mirage, at least I didn't notice it before. It's interesting detail
I saw damage numbers in origins and immediately dropped it and then odyssey made it even worse like 59674 dmg to one person is crazy 😭
Haha I think it gets even higher than that. Like 6 or 7 figure damage.
Even if all you do play is assassin's creed (which i doubt) what does it matter, you enjoy it
That's true. (It is mostly all I play, for now)
Seems almost like the more your mother banned you, the more you wanted to play it.
I didn't play the games at launch I think, I hadn't heard of them. So, this is making a short story long but it's kind of a nice one:
Back when I was in College (UK sense, not university), I was on a digital media course so a lot of it was spent in an IT suite room.
My first ac was assassins creed 2 I was a boy in the beginning and a man by the end 😂
Now I know how to say your name properly
Haha I say it in many of my videos
I have one question did you like Odyssey or did you not because well a lot of people hate it even though it's not that bad if you don't think about the name I mean I don't mind the name but a lot of people do I'm saying if they didn't like it and it's not that bad just wondering if you like it or not
I played about 20 hours of odyssey when it came out. It was fun I guess but I lost interest quickly.
There's just nothing like it

I’m in love with the AC games now (the old ones) but I had a bad impression because of *COUGH COUGH* Origins *COUGH COUGH*
The old ones are superior.
Assassin's Creed is better in an urban environment. The wide open natural spaces look great, but don't fit into the mechanics of the essence of the series like cities do.
Absolutely correct
i do think the franchise is not going anywhere good. i also think the damage done by ubisoft to AC is not reversible. that doesnt mean we stop loving the games we got, or that we stop yearning for the stuff we never got to see. in a sense, the community is more alive than ever, and this can be felt with the pressure that lead to the production of mirage, and the modding scene which is getting very interesting with the parkour mods. seriously, the mods for AC2 make it better than unity.
I'm holding on to hope, trying my hardest to make the most of each game.
I am itching to get the new version of that parkour mod but my laptop doesn't like gaming lol

I'm a hardcore assassin's Creed fan many years now but I have to say, the fact that they published a new game every year at the beginning was SAD. All of the assassin's Creed are extremely buggy and have a lot of glitches. It's sad.
I feel like most of the games up until unity were pretty well polished at release. Not perfect, but pretty good. Especially brotherhood.
@@Ropotopolous polished? I recently played ac3 remastered again, like two months ago. After so many years of release, it's still full of bugs and glitches. 20gb of updates for such an old and small game. No its actually the zipline launcher thing in syndicate. That's the reason.
I'm honestly surprised that your brother took GTA IV considering if you literally just drove around whenever your mum walked in the room it'll be perfectly fine because that game looks so much like just to driving game if you just get in a car and drive around unless of course you know you run over civilians and commit mass genocide
