I have a distance cousin who lives there in town in one of the homes on a high staircase. I tried finding him the last time I was in Napoli. He and his family were on holiday. I did get in contact with his mother when I was there in 2018. I hope to go back soon and reconnect.

Hey can you do a video about the different personalities and characteristics of each Greek island for those who are having a hard time trying to decide which island would be perfect for them to move to. I’m living in Louisiana and I’m ready to move to Greece! Please.

Hi , greek guy from Athens here, here are some tips if you want them.
-rhodes and crete are the warmest islands with the most sunshine -warm days. I would definitely focus on crete as it's the biggest island and therefore has the best infrastructure (hospitals, international airports with most flights etc). heraklion is the capital, crowded and a bit ugly, chania and rethymno are the "pretty" towns. I would choose chania, either the town or a village near it if you'll have s car. . chania is perfect combination of everything . However have in mind greece is not a tropical country, winter (although very mild) exists so you will have cold -rainy days in December January February till march .
-make sure the house you rent has central heating . Not just air con, that won't cut it . Otherwise you will freeze in the winter.
-rent a whole year first to experience the island in all seasons. It's very different, from high season,to shoulder season,to the winter when only locals and expats live on the island. The change of weather makes a big difference.
-do NOT count on the BAD greek economy for any income. You should have an income secured before moving. Luckily the internet allows you to work remotely,i am sure you have that secured already.
-Facebook expat groups for each island are your best guide once you land. Lots of info from other expats there
-do NOT buy a house unless you have settled in for at least a few years. Renting is the way to go. Only once your finances allow you to not care if you can sell the house immediately should you buy one. Just because YOU bought it ,it doesn't mean that in the future you will sell it that easily in a price that you want. Of course, for touristy areas the real estate market is better.
-"sunpire" is a you tube channel i follow of a Romanian couple who moved to Crete (chania) a year ago with extremely low savings and seem to make it work and live their best life now. You can see some videos to see what lifestyle you can expect. Their income is through translating books,i would guess it's not too high but they make it work .i'd say 1000 euros a month is the absolute minimum needed for a basic life (so around 1000 dollars ) , but the more you get closer to 2000 the more freedom you have to actually enjoy life here. Again,it all comes down to the amount of your secured income.

I stack in the USA. The reason is, that my former wife, she found a new boyfriend, and she left hundreds of miles away with our two kids, which I haven’t seen for many years. This is allowed in the USA for women to do that if they want to, and fathers have no parental rights in the USA, other than paying the child support. Until that situation clears I’m Stacked. I have a house in Larissa , which is empty. I visit
Greece with every opportunity for a couple of months., and I don’t want to go back to the States. I don’t wanna go back to the Hollywood Utopian propaganda. It’s a joke when I hear them say that they are the Free World. Spending your life working and paying taxes. Never ending. I hope Greece will NOT be Americanized.. 🇬🇷

For those of us from Nafplio forced to leave our home due to EU colonialism and the economic consequences of impoverishing my nation intentionally since before the German occupation that also robbed us blind of gold from the vaults of the National Bank of Greece but also all the valuable artifacts and so on. I am glad it is a Venezuelan who managed to find a niche in the market and has promoted Nafplio and not yet another expansionist coloniser ( no nationalities mentioned, all you need to do is see who has occupied Nafplio over the centuries and you will know who I am referring to). Venezuelans have been through too( Que Viva Venezuela y su pueblo) much and are still paying the price for not conforming to the superpowers' demands. On the 28th of October we commemorated the day we said "NO" to fascism , our national holiday in remembrance of those who fell in WW2. However when Greeks voted "NO" ( OXI) in the national referendum to stay in the EU or not, we voted to Grexit and our vote was dismissed.
So you see the lack of democracy and respect for the wishes within the EU have also contributed to our exodus. Investigate why so many tonnes of oranges are buried instead of exported and hoe the EU has destroyed local economy in Argolida.
It is a Greek tragedy that we are in involuntary exile and I cannot be the one who is walking through the streets I grew up in. We the Greek diaspora suffer our separation from the mother land and simultaneously experience racism and discrimination in the UK nowadays. You must know what I mean being so far away from your madre patria.
Thesaloniki would make great content for you especially tracking the Hispanic part of sefardic Jews from Salonika.
Thanks y que Dios te bendiga!
