    As a Broncos fan, I am still mad about that game. So I have a lot to say, here. That was PI at the end. I'm not saying that the second try would've been successful, I'm just saying they should've had a second try. Now, the refs were not the reason we lost. There were missed calls against us, but we really had no business losing after taking a 21-3 lead. We shouldn't have let it get to that point to where we needed a hail mary. The refs missed a facemask on Washington when we were up 21-3, and the wheels fell off after that. Russ should've fallen on that ball even if he felt he was down. I'm mad at my team for falling apart after a phenomenal first quarter and a half.

    • @Zortbrain
      @Zortbrain 11 місяців тому +9

      As a Washington fan, I agree that your team should've gotten a second attempt on the 2 point try at the end of the game. I'll also say this, refs have been fucking up when it comes to not calling face masking penalties going into a second straight season and that's worrying, and disturbing. My worry is, the refs are going to not call a face masking penalty and it's going to lead to a player getting seriously injured because of it

    • @BroncoJosh
      @BroncoJosh 11 місяців тому +5

      @@Zortbrain Agreed. But that's not to take anything away from Washington. The refs were not the reason they won. They came to play after a rough first quarter and a half. The Broncos got way too comfortable with their lead, and Washington just kept creeping back into the game and took it from under our nose.

    • @Zortbrain
      @Zortbrain 11 місяців тому +1

      @@BroncoJosh Oh I know. I'm not taking anything away from Washington battling back from being down 21 to 3. I don't think it was so much just the Broncos getting too comfortable with that lead, but it was also that one turnover that gave Washington the spark they needed to comeback. I'll also say that for most of the first quarter, Washington's offense looked good, but they had that missed field goal on the opening drive and then their next drive they were moving it down the field again only to stall out and settle for a made field goal.

Now this season refs are letting them play late in the game but everyone hates that they aren’t calling these penalties. Where is our middle ground?

    • @DaejinTye
      @DaejinTye 11 місяців тому +2

      SOMEONE is going to bitch no matter what. However, there is a clear goal to strive for here: Call penalties that effect the play or are clear violations. Do not call penalties that have no impact or don't clearly violate the rules.
      It's never going to be perfect. Not even close, so the best alternative is to allow teams to challenge penalties the same way they can challenge plays. With the current rules for challenging, that would be AT MOST 6 challenges more per game. It also gives the refs a little leeway in "letting them play" late in games or to hold a flag on something they're not sure they saw. Simply allowing the challenging of a penalty would've eliminated most of the calls on in this video, without drastically altering the rulebook or the games themselves.

Really hoping one day someone with a huge audience organizes a 1 week boycott of the entire NFL, somewhere around Week 3 or 4. The supposed first down the patriots had on their last possession as well as the Very Illegal td that Hunter Henry had where he blocked a DB around 5 yards ahead of the line of scrimmage as well as the fact the entire offensive line was in front of the line as well. On a passing play that would be considered 6 ineligible receivers downfield. 6:44 I actually agree with the false start call. The Texans defender jumped, but he got back. Quentin Nelson, rather than flinching as if the play had started or he had been provoked by the defender, immediately gets up and starts pointing fingers at the defender. He didn't even try to make it look like he was drawn into false starting.

    • @BetaNurse68
      @BetaNurse68 11 місяців тому

      Yea but what Nelson did happens all the time. If you cross and it causes an offensive linemen to move it’s a penalty on the defense. What Nelson did happens several times a week that’s why it’s a dumb call. It’s also better to stand and point because it draws attention to the gym and basically asks the line judge to confirm if the defender crossing caused it.

    • @PapaVanTwee5

    the stupid thing about PI is that there should be NO contact before the ball gets there. neither side should be using their hands for any kind of leverage. any kind of usage of hands should be automatic PI/holding. it might take some ugly games before it gets cleaned up, but it needs to get cleaned up. kinda like when hockey finally got rid of hooking/holding as obstruction. it took a year of strict enforcement but it's become much more watchable now that star players are free to move with all their skills.
