Wow, thanks for sharing Chad. Very valuable info. Regarding Miles Davis UHQR, could you tell us how many 33's and how many 45's will be pressed? Thanks.
Great video Chad, thank you for sharing this infornation with us. Really looking forward to Miles UHQR and more videos like this, keep up the good work 👍

Thanks so much for setting the record straight, Chad. I hope to invest in a UHQR someday and venture out to the QRP plant to get a tour when restrictions are relaxed.
Funny you posting this video today. Just picked up my first mobile fidelity UHQR this morning. Supertramp Crime of the Century. Will be spinning tonight.
Chad, I’ve been a customer and fan of AS/QRP for a long time. I own both of the previous UHQR releases (Hendrix’s ”Bold as Love” and Jetro Tull’s “Aqualung”), so I want to be at the front of the line for Miles Davis’ “Kind of Blue” UHQR release, too. Keep up the great work!
Very informative video and can't wait to see where you go with UHQR in the future, will be ordering the KOB when it comes up for pre order and will wait patiently for the next releases. Big sigh. Keep up the the fantastic work Chad.
Hey Chad, I’m sorry that I probably won’t be able to afford buying these type of albums. I’m able to afford your other quality albums that your team and you are making. But I love all of the music history and information that I learn from you. I bought one album from your company and it was 55 dollars. That is a lot for me, but I love the quality. I’m surely looking forward to buying more when I can. Thanks for all the hard work.
It's obvious that a lot of work has gone into perfecting this process beyond the original JVC era. In my experience, the current crop of UHQR recordings are fantastic and I, for one, wait patiently for the upcoming releases!
Great info...I have jazz records that were press by JVC....many Pablo records....and they sound amazing.....can't wait for the Kind of Blue....I do have the double record set by Classic Records which Mike Hobson did....just great !!! ....I do love the Blue Note they did with the deep groove label....I hope Mike is well and thank you Chad for the great records and pressings that you are bringing to the music lover....all the best and blessings to you !!!!.....😎.....Ed in New York.....🎶🎵🎶🗽🗽🗽
Chad..thank you for what you do for music lovers everywhere. Just my 2 cents...if you did Led Zepplin and Pink Floyd as UHQR releases..the music world would go crazy with excitement. Would be a sweet thing after the bitter sting of the Corona virus. I live in hope man. Cheers from Australia 👍
Hi Chad Do you not think the box is antiquated now, takes up lots of space. And with the mofi one step's, recently found out that the sleeves move around in the box, causing seam splits.
Hello Chad, Thank you for the info I myself was asking what is the difference between the one-step and the UHQR so thanks again. I can't wait for Miles Davis Kind of Blue to come out hopefully very soon.
there's a video of his office and all the record players and other toys. He walks around and you follow him all over the place and it's awesome! He talks about his collections and you see some of the folks that work there.
Bought the 1st three UHQR titles and all are great! Cant wait for the Miles Davis and hoepfully Who's next. I want to be driven crazy with anticipation. You can tell me. I wont tell, I promise!
i remember buying Planets and Cat Stevens --when the price dropped to $19.95 (a few others also dropped but I was not interested in those).--and got the pink floyd for $5 --(yes) because this was in pre-computer days --and I always went to the one girl at peaches beause she was usually stoned--and keyed in $50 as $5, Lucky me.
Since you basically have Classic Record's catalogue now...any chance we see The Alan Parsons Project - I, Robot on UHQR??? As far as I remember there was a 45 Test Press of this title...could be awesome :) Thank you.
Hi Chad. I am a customer of your company, I have purchased only one reel of Rebecca Pidgeon to reel. It is and has been a fantastic sound experience. But I was frustrated that I couldn't buy the reel to reel edition of Norah Jones' "Come away with me." The people at Acoustic Sounds responded very kindly to me that the license for that album had ended and therefore it could no longer be released in reel 15 ips. Is it possible that your company can republish it or print it again in reel to reel? The prices on eBay or other websites are ridiculous and are unattainable for me or anyone with a normal income around the world. Can your company make an effort and make some new reel to reel edits of Norah Jones' album "Come away with me"? Thank you very much, you have a great and fantastic company.
Chad, every time you do a video you cost me more money! Here I was all content that I had all of the UHQRs, and then you pull couple out of left field that I have never seen before mentioned, anywhere. On a related note, is there any truth to the rumour that there was once a very exclusive, executive “Christmas gift” run of the Beatles MFSL box set made with the UHQR discs?
@@acousticsoundsks I did some more digging to find the posts on this. Apparently Perry Cox (Beatles Historian) sold a Beatles 13 LP MFSL Set made entirely of UHQRs back in 2013. I believe it went up to $8,000 with no sale. Rumors were that it was sold for upwards of $12,000. The UHQR set was pressed for MOFI executives, and just a handful of them were made. Never saw a mention of any others since then (probably sold in garage sales...lol)
I check everyday for the preorder. It’s the record that got me into jazz. I really want the best version possible. It holds a special place in my heart.
Will do. I recently picked up Tony Joe White - homemade ice cream on analogue productions 45 rpm at a local record store in Toronto. Completely blown away by the sound quality. Absolutely amazing. All the Doors albums I have from your label are also fantastic. Just missing the soft parade. I’ll keep checking back on the website for sure. :)
I had two early pressings of Alan Parsons--I Robot on UHQR. I also have 24/192 vinyl rip of Dark Side. The I Robot uhqr is EQ'd smiley face. It sounds WAY different from other MFSL (CD, regular LP, SACD), as wel las Classic Records DVD-A, remasters, etc. Not sure which is best. For Dark Side, I'd say the MFSL Gold CD sound better as does a 1973 original German pressing LP. Bottom line: MFSL is all over the map ... it's the mastering engr. that makes more difference than pressing.
Your vinyl is still nowhere near MOFI's?JVC's Super vinyl. I did an A/B comparison with a standard MOFI from the Beatles box set and your Jimi Hendrix, Are You Experienced and the noise being transmitted was way louder on the Jimi title. Everything else is first rate. If you guys could come up with your own Super Vinyl, that would set it over the top.
The main differences are the "One-Step" process, the clarity vinyl, the uhqr specifications and the better presentation.. When it comes to the sound, I don't really know. But one thing I can tell you is that my Axis: Bold As Love UHQR sounds 1000 times better than my regular QRP pressing of the same record.
@@alejoaviles Incorrect, neither are One Steps. Not sure where you got your information. The main difference between the Mofi and the UHQR is they come from different source tapes. 1) The Analogue Productions is being made from the Bernie Grundman mastering from the original 3 track Columbia master tape, which was cut off the 3 track tape deck, mixing it live to stereo in his studio in 1995, and released by Classic Records. that metalwork is being reused for the UHQR version. 2) The recent Mofi 2x45 was cut from a tape that was remixed in 1997 by Mark Wilder. He got the Safety 3 track master, and remixed a new 2 track stereo version, creating a new master tape. That remix tape is what Krieg Wunderlich, at mofi remastered to make their Kind of Blue. 3) the vinyl formula for the UHQR should be quieter than the standard Mofi KOB, unless you happen to get one of the "super vinyl" versions they pressed.
@@derosa1989 That is really informative thanks.
