My leisure travel is kept in Reno because have family with free parking. Since it is a B+ 24 foot watching videos like yours gives me ideas. Thanks

    Bring a can of Lysol and some puppy pads to put on that bench. The bench is a shower chair for handicapped people and is meant for them them to sit on in the shower. He just put his bag where someone sat naked. 🦠 germs. Be careful using flip flops in the shower they slip on the floors pretty easy a wooded folding mat might be better for some of you who mobility challenged. Don’t forget to stay the shower head and nobs with Lysol and wait a few minutes to let it dry and kill the germs.🤗 happy camping ⛺️

    A continental divide is a drainage divide on a continent such that the drainage basin on one side of the divide feeds into one ocean or sea, and the basin on the other side either feeds into a different ocean or sea, or else is endorheic, not connected to the open sea.

      @gosmall.livelarge  3 роки тому +1

      Great question that will be answered fully on my van life UA-cam live show what’s up Wednesday tonight at 6 PM central. Bottom line is the best practice is to have the tank nearly full and then empty so that all of the pressure evacuate the tank quickly and thoroughly. Anything anything less than a half could leave stuff left in the tank because not enough pressure to evacuate quickly. That has been my experience

    So I think that you would have changed the orientation of the van if someone else had parked next to you but the video really wasn't clear on that and left a decent impression that it should be up to you to decide. It would be very unneighborly to not change if someone else arrived.

    Scott have you considered adding more info about the K model to go along with your excellent G model info? We bought a one year old K that was barely used and garage kept. We love it but are a little surprised at how many small issues they can have. If you ever consider a video about solving small issues I can start you out with at least 10 items to address. Have you met other Travatos on the road and picked up their stories? Also I have been researching Travato message boards and they are totally lame. Can you start one? Even the Winne Owner site if you search Travato you get around 80 results only and most are not even Travato related. Your channel is number one on the Travato and really factory built van life in general. Thank you for what you do. David and Katie Portland, Oregon

    Do you run your roof ac and refrigerator while driving? Have you had any issues with heat inside your Van during this hot summer? When you turn on the ac do you unplug the 10 amp service and use batteries? How long does your battery last with refrigerator and ac running?

    • @gosmall.livelarge
      @gosmall.livelarge  4 роки тому

      Hi Claude. Good questions. In my near 2 years of ownership I have turned the fridge off 4 times maybe. 3 for having to get on an airplane trips and once while getting clynider head replaced. Basically never turn fridge off. Runs like a champ.
      In the heat I run the rooftop AC when I am driving to keep the cabin cool.
      Issues with summer head can be somewhat avoided by staying out of sunlight and in the shade.
      With my Volta system I run the rooftop AC as needed whether or not I’m plugged into shore power. That is the beauty of the Volta system... 30 AMPs at full power wherever I am.

    I am in a similar situation with my spouse not being as enthusiastic about travel as I am. We currently have a small travel trailer and take mostly short trips. I occasionally will take longer trips by myself (Rocco my dog also) or my wife will bring the car separately and go home after a few days. I am getting tired of the work and limitations of a trailer and thinking about a van to travel more freely and be more mobile. Your insights and advice are excellent. Keep up the good work.

    There are things that a business should have on their daily checklist, especially if they're using something to promote their business. Whether the owners of the campground have any IT knowledge or not should not deter someone from walking the grounds during their daily inspections and, using an app on a smartphone, check the wifi services. Moreover, somebody needs to install a lock-on clip onto the circuit breaker which controls the wifi tower devices. The device does not prevent the circuit from tripping when needed, just keeps someone from moving the switch to OFF unintentionally. We have a few installed to prevent the fire alarm system, controlled door access system, etc. They meet fire code requirements.

And the location just minutes from the store downtown Butte made up for some of that. Nice thoughtful video. I especially liked the tip about controlling the amount of power you are pulling in from the post when it is 20 amp or less. Another benefit of running off of lithium with an AC that pulls from lithium through an intervter first.

    hi Scott... Steve from Spokane........another good vid of info. do you use surge or other line check protectors when you connect to shore power... and a suggestion as you are in the neck of woods of Glacier.. on the west side their is a great eccentric place called Polebridge -- there is mercantile and bakery store with wifi in this remote area and camping nearby -- this is a must see place.. and if you want a further adventure north - almost to Canada -- you can follow the road out of Polebridge to a "campground" at the literal end of the road at Lake Kintla -- the place is fantastic remote and beautiful -- but can be crowded in peak.. it as a perfect place for b-van -- all this is mostly dirt road -- but is remote enough that it may not have access to cellular at the Lake -- but it is an interest diversion. at least go to the Polebridge Mercantile for a sandwich - with covid -- check if it is open of course...... It is too bad on all the closures on the East side of Glacier -- not sure you can get to the Many Glacier and Swiftcurrent area over there -- but outside of Going to the Sun road -- it is a very nice part of the park with some great day hikes and a great opportunity to see some grizzly bears

I am seriously looking for a Travato GL and would like to see if your website has additional information because I rather read and be able to save text instead of watching videos. Go Small. Live Large! hmm that’s very strange and totally inadvertent if so. I switched account names a couple times, so they may have something to do with it. I sure as heck remember watching you getting a 59GL, watching you park it successfully, and wondering whether your partner was going to full time it with you! I ended up going with a K but you still had relevant content despite that. Plus I’m just glad you’re succeeding!

    How does an RV'er turn off the camp WiFi? Just curious. Also, can't remember where I saw it-probably on another RV UA-cam, but I think there is a device that will turn your 20amp into a 30 or 50 amp. Maybe I was dreaming....of course dreaming of being on the road. Thanks for the tips!

    • @gosmall.livelarge
      @gosmall.livelarge  4 роки тому

      Probably the easist way to “turn off” WiFi is to tell your WiFi preferences to “forget” that particular network in which case it won’t auto-join. Hope that helps a little . Thanks for watching and commenting

    Scott, The FIT RV did a whole big experiment with ice cubes that you might like to check out, but the most interesting system is called Bio-Geo by T R Bowlin. Since you are geared into safe and simple you might enjoy learning about this. He has a you tube video or the data can be found at trbowlin.com. This rids you of the chemicals and treats your gray tank as well. Would love your opinion on it.

    Great tips / video. That outlet actually looked like a 15A circuit as 20A usually look like there’s a sideways ‘T’ for the neutral as a 20A plug has a 90 deg to hot terminal. So good idea setting limit of system to 10 amps. Thanks for the tips!
