Thank you v much for the exact information that I needed for a long time about honey suckle flowering time read a lot of books of yours from British Library Bangalore India
Thank you for the lovely rhyme, and very helpful tips. I have a very young clematis that I rescued last year at a end of season sale and haven't had the privilege to see it flower yet. It was in poor condition when I planted it last year. I hope it survived our harsh winter. I have the root area mulched with straw.
I have a really nice Clematis that flowers in May unfortunately its only for 3 to 4 weeks it has a wonderful white chocolate vanilla smell from it thats very pungent, especially when its sunny, its a bit disappointing that it only flowers for such a short period, because for the rest of the year its just bare really, its a Montana variety forget which one though.
I thought that Group 1 clematis were multi - bloomers, that can flower a few times in a year, at various times, so if one of these, blooms in July/August, then is it OK to prune this, despite the possibility of it having bloomed before June ?
I'm trying to grow clematis up a wall from pots on a patio but I'm unsure about what to do with them in the winter. I'm new to gardening but my plants are quickly becoming like my babies and I'm worrying about them already. Can anyone help and advise on how to care for them in the winter months.
MONTY!! HeLP Pleeeease if you would.. with my year old passion flower.. it's has very straggly sad looking main stem about 12ft with just one branch off main.. seems criminal but, not sure where, when, how, if i should prune to stimulate it... it yet hasn't flowered... many thanks monty we love gardeners world!
themrswanda I'd be thrilled to think Monty has looked at my videos, but I fear he probably does not. However, you could try sending an email to: gardenersworld@bbc.co.uk and ask your question there - with any luck, Monty may answer it on the show.
