@@jasminebambury5841 that’s great to hear. Many months of filming goes into each one, so it’s good to know they’re so much appreciated. Happy gardening!
Wow! I have never watched such an incredible visual tutorial on clematis. I had no idea there were so many varieties available. I am so excited to see what my local nurseries have to offer. What a beautiful beautiful statement to my flower garden they will make.
Glad it was helpful! Clematis have always been one of my favourite plants, and it’s the one plant you can usually find space to squeeze in ‘just one more’!
I hope you enjoy this video, and if you do please 'Subscribe' to my channel. Thank you. And if you have any comments or queries do add them here too. Happy gardening!
Very nice video - THX! I really enjoyed how you should both the winter (end) cycle with just the beginning of the shoots taking off. We have to remember to support the whole process.
I am so happy to see how you are growing Arabella Clematis. I also have this plant. I grow it on my screened in porch, in a very large pot climbing on an obelisk .We live in Delaware, zone 7B and it has performed beautifully. I have two other clematis, Roguch and Asao. I wish I had room for more!
Isn't 'Arabella' lovely. There are so many wonderful varieties available, and new ones being introduced virtually every year. I think I've run out of places to squeeze in any more!
@@dnaka723 so pleased to hear you’re enjoying my video. I’ve always loved clematis but think I’ve run out of space to add more! Which varieties do you grow?
I have 6 different plants in my yard. I have 5 different large petal multi-bloomers, but I don’t know their specific types; they came with the house. And one robust Montana spring bloomer.
Thank you for all the wonderful and informative video, learned so much , the best video on Clematis seen so far. Just bought clematis Dr. Ruppel today. Greetings 🇺🇸💚 🙏
Thank you for a really informative video. Great close ups so we can see what you are doing. I didn’t realise some clematis aren’t climbers and some great examples of different types. I’ve learned so much. Can you recommend any fragrant clematis?
Thanks and I'm pleased you enjoyed my video. I don't think any of my clematis are scented and don't have any recommendations I'm afraid. This is a question for a good clematis nursery, or perhaps other viewers have some suggestions. I hope you find something suitable.
I forgot what type my clematis is. What I remeber is that cardboard shown Purple flowers when it was bought. First year it did not do anything, this year it had leaves and started to climb the trellis, maybe next spring it flowers. So I think I will not prune it at all , I need to see when it flowers to see what type of clematis it is
As I explain in this video, there are many different types of clematis. The large bloomed summer flowering clematis can be pruned during winter. I usually prune mine towards the end of winter in around February into March. Do watch teh video to see how I do it.
There are several excellent mail-order nurseries in the UK selling clematis, like Crocus, but I also check in larger garden centre too as you pick out the best plant if a variety catches your eye. Several of mine were bred by Raymond Evison from Guernsey Clematis so do check his website for stockist details.
I just love your videos and watch and re- watch them daily. My other favourite is the middle sized garden by Alexandra. Learn so much♡

So pleased it has inspired you to grow some clematis. Happy gardening!
Love your clematis collection, you have so many varieties, so beautiful,I only have 7 varieties, may add more this year.
There is one rule of gardening that you have to follow .... "Gardens always have room for one more clematis". Let me know which ones you plant.
Very helpful video. Thanks.

Yes do try and ID your variety as this will help you know how to prune it correctly.
