Sad to say that just a year on from the now, some of the shops are the new then, thanks to Covid, thats why videos like this are so important, thanks for helping keeping Norwich history alive
Totally agree with the other comments, I had the pleasure of meeting George Plunkett around twenty five years ago when he signed two of his excellent books for me, I had cheekily popped round to his house but he was very welcoming and even asked if I wanted a cup of tea, left a legacy of Norwich when it was prettier, cleaner and more friendly.
That is a great little video which I enjoyed very much and sincerely hope you'll create more of similar format. As a big fan of Mr Plunkett's web site I tried to find one of the photos you have used but I have failed to locate it. It's the one showing Wensum St. and the Ribs of Beef plus the butchers next door from where, presumably, the pub got it's name. I just can't find this photo so could you point me to it's location within said website please? Many thanks.
Loved this, lived in Norwich all my life ❤
Lived in Norwich for a few months as a kid and still go back to visit 50 years on. Fab video.
Lovely video! :)
Stupendous editing and a delightful trip down Memory Lane.

Very interesting.
Any ideas about the building in Orford Place?
The circular building was a tram stop i belive

Thanks for that.
Strictly speaking, it was a shelter and ticket office for tram passengers and was erected in 1928. Sad really, as the trams were withdrawn in 1935.
Anyone know the title of this music?
Norwich born and bred with a short interval at Hyde park barracks at 65 I would say it has evolved into the 2nd biggest car park in the country .
