I think that I saw that sweet thing in the gas station in Oceano today. I said "Looks like fun." to the pleasant passenger.
Awesome build...I'm subscribed 🙌
I'm watching all these vids on Honda swapped baja bugs because I want one of my own 🤩🤩
It’s worth every penny!
Hy, very modified car. She looks super good. Kris
Tie rods in front of the control arms always gets me. Im an engineer and id never put them up front to get smashed into. Beautiful bug build!!
This thing is amazing and I want it! 😍
Dang, she's looking good!
Perfect, love the choice of motor👍
nice bug, looks great
Sweet Baja! Keep up with the videos! I just subscribed!
Thank you👍🏼
Sweet ride
Nice project
Thanks
sweet setup! hope to see you at the desert or Bajasociety poker run!
Thanks👍🏼
Surprised we haven’t run into each other already! I’ve been meaning to go to a Bajasociety poker run for a few years now, they look super fun
🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗cool 🎊 thanks for the update
That thing would fly
This is sick!
Great years
Awesome
Super
Cool
Fantastic 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🔝🔝🔝🔝🔝💯💯💯👍👍👍👍
Nice profile of your ride. You are proud of it and your vid you can be too if not for the um's. Had you had notes, absent the ums, your presentation would have been very well presented. Nice job regardless.
Thanks for the tips!
Very similar to what I'm planning on doing to mine! You got any videos showing more detail on unset front end install? I was leaning towards going with the Nichols kit as well and I think this is the first video I've found of someone actually running it
I didn’t take any videos but I do have tons of pictures. I did 100% of the welding/install in my garage so I can answer any questions you’d have. Shoot me an email themaddward@gmail.com

I almost wish I had gone with a Honda engine.. I went all out with a built CBM ls7 motor, I can't keep the front wheels on the ground and the thing scares the crap out of me. 600whp is way too much for me,🤙
Damn that’s one wild ride I bet!
I like having more suspension than horsepower, I can push it hard. 600hp LS7 would be a blast! I’d need a diaper hahaha
@@coderedward OMG, it's absolutely insane, I try to just cruise it around but it's just too much fun to get on it. When I get out of the car I'm shaking like a leaf.. I m thinking about building another one with VTEC and just keeping this one for sand drags. BTW that's a beautiful buggy.
Nettes Kennzeichen. ❤
What do you have it limited at with the 3x5 in the rear. Build looks great.
I have the straps set so the CV’s are limited to 25 degrees max
Extremely nice build!! I'm starting on a similar build, just pulled the trigger on the Nichols front suspension a couple weeks ago. Curious, what wheels are those? They look like they might help reduce aerodynamic drag a bit, are you running into any issues with brake cooling? I'm guessing not, but my understanding is that style wheel can run into cooling issues with more... ah hem... traditional vehicles.
The wheels are spun aluminum welded 2 piece I had powder coated semi gloss black. Kartek and B&R Buggies sell them. I’m running a 15x7 in the rear and a 16x4 in the front. No problems with brake cooling at all in my application
@@coderedward I like em, are there any advantages to running these compared to say Methods or the like? Seems like they might be lighter.
nice ride man! i have the same nichols setup on my baja. what spring rates are you running?
8” 150lb over a 14” 250lb Eibach springs.
Whats the trans and what did you build cage out of
Currently a built 002 but I’m having an 091 built right now. Cage is mostly 1-1/2” x .125” wall
did you have to move the trans back for the 3x5s?
Yes it’s moved 3” back. That gave me roughly 2” of the axles being swept back at ride height and lining up at full droop
Question about the rear arms, are they the 3x5 from kartek? And stock location mounts?
Yes I got them from Mike at Kartek. Pivots are in the stock location, Trans is moved back roughly 3”
Are your rear trailing arms 3” back and 5”wide? I’m finding a lot are 5 back and 3 wide?
They’re 3” wide 5” back
Such a clean build! Huge fan. What are you running for the ECU?
I’m running a factory ECU from a 2001 Accord and it works perfect.
I have an AEM series 2 ECU new in the box still if/when I make the jump to a J35 in the future
how did you find grafting that a arm bulk head on? i have been looking at their kit for a while.
It was pretty easy. I put a piece of 1” masking tape around the tunnel against the “firewall” as a guide and cut it off. Then welded the plate that comes with the kit to cap it. The bulkhead will then weld to the plate.
This pushed the wheelbase forward for me 5-1/2”. I had a 6” wide beam with tweeds 2-1/2” arms in the stock location before this.
@@coderedward ya i have a 6 inch beam in my car right now. you did that with the body on the car?
whats the wheel base L,W ?
It’s 105” L and with my wheel offset 74” W front and rear
@@coderedward thanks sir drive safe and cool ass car
"motors bone stock" hahahha
