Nice vid, love watching things come together. I will say that in the time it took to watch this entire video I was able to cut out one (yes “1”) hatchet sheath from 8-9 oz Tandy leather. The tooling really saves time in getting the project moving especially when you’re dealing with hard leather.
Wow brother, that is some THICK DENSE leather right there !!! nice work, that clicker is a life saver for things like this !
Thanks man! I'm enrolled in the course. Just getting started and Its awsome!
Thanks
Your video is helping me a lot with my UA-cam activities. Thank you. This video is also very helpful.
It must be the season for this project. I have lost count of how many people I have seen make this..... I too am currently making one!
haha yeah there must be something in the air;)
I have no idea how i got here but i do know i love your energy
Beautiful man..just beautiful..cleeeean
If you wrap your knife in silifain it will keep any water from penetrating the knife when wet molding. Beautiful job.
Awesome work as always sir! I'll have to try out one of these!
Would love to see a collab with a red beard blade and stock and barrel sheath 😍😍😍
@@katherinealper3125 That would make a pretty combo for sure
Great inspiration as always mate.. thanks for sharing.. cheers from Brisbane Australia 🇦🇺🇦🇺👋
right on, thanks Pete!
This works great with a CRK Large Sebenza 31 after some quick wet molding.
That’s john Wayne leather right there it ain’t taking no nothing from nobody! 😂 good work man
Just looked on stock and barrel because I wanted to make a belt loop sheath for my leatherman k4 and today they’re doing it what a coincidence
haha that's awesome. Great timing:)
So simple but I love it!
Thanks Alex!
your workshop is very nice
thank you! It gets the job done:)
Very nice, I like it a lot
Great project! Btw Parker, where did you get the cutting Matt that covers your entire work space?
You didn’t walk the foot back 2-3 times when finishing sewing to lock the thread?
Very nice !!
Excelente trabajo 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Just curios on what wing divider you’re using? It looks like it does a pretty good job on channeling out the leather for counter sinking the thread. Do you find that it works better than an actually stitch groover? I find that my stitch groover (even with a new blade) puckers the outer edge of the leather. It would be good to find an alternative solution.
I like that alternate makers mark bro.
thanks dude, I was using that little cattle brand on our wallets a few years ago but it just seemed right for the sheath
I've made a number of them, but I'd like to see you make a nice sheath for a nice fixed blade knife. Pancake style. Thank you!!
I’ll consider it, thanks!
Do you generally have a favorite edge beveller size you use on most of your stuff or do you have a few favorite sizes?
Parker just made a knife sheath out of slab of granite...holy moly that must have been one tough animal 🐮🐄
hahah no kidding
Hey Parker, how was your burnishing process changed over the last few years?
Good job👍👏👏
I would love to find the clicker dies for this and other knife sheaths.
You know when someone isn't passionate about leather craft when they use machines and presses. It's just mass production of a product.
Or maybe trying to feed his family without a 9-5 factory job?
Great work. What type of thread are you using?
Thanks! It’s size 207 bonded nylon
Great work Parker! I love how you're mixing up the edge finishing, natural burnish and edge paint, I love both! What motivates you do use either technique?
Loo
I’ve recently purchased your design for this sheath will I be able to make my own die with the measurements it has on there?
What company do you use for your belt loop punch
Daang I really like this sheath, do you sell these?
Do you sale those for Buck 112 knives, haven’t finished washing videos yet, just ran into yours
As a newbie fresh into the leather crafting world, what is the Tan Kote finish you used? What is it doing to/for the leather? In my limited knowledge, I would have thought the neatsfoot oil to be a sufficient finish alone.
Regardless, it came out looking beautiful and flawlessly professional. Very well done, sir.
Tan Kote is a top finish gives it more of a protective layer. Neatsfoot is more of a oil to help soften and break in
do you make sheaths for weatherman surgery?
Awesome work as always, where did you get the clicker die made?
I get my dies from www.nationaldienyc.com/
@@whitandpark Wow, thanks for the speedy reply! Love your videos and your down-to-earth personality. You're one of the few channels I let the ads run for.
Where did you get the punch for you pattern made
where can i get the die for the press to punch this pattern?
Nice job, where did you buy the oblog punch
I had this one custom made by Texas Custom Dies:)
@@whitandpark What is the size/width of the punch? I need one.
Hello, what kind of leather are you using in this video and what thickness. how many decimeters? I will be very grateful for your answer.
You should of made a few belt blanks before cutting it down. I cannot keep them in my shop. Working crew people love them. Try using a carpenters knife. Just run the blade over a polisher with a little Jewelers rouse first, yes sharpen the new blade. It will cut it.
The sheath is ambidextrous - you may want to brand both sides.
what is the point of a sheath for a pocket knife?
Does it matter wich end of knife goes in case ?
Not with a trapper.
Why don’t you back stitch or overstitch? Just curious.
What happened to your logo? Why did you change it?
quisiera comprar una funda como la del video yo tengo una navaja muy parescida
I wanted to make a sheath for my victorinox
You definitely should:)
I was going to ask you this question last year but life got in the way... why don't you sell this and a few other project as a DIY kit on your web site. Supply the leather pre cut to size with loop holes cut toss in the thread for hand stitching & we do the rest. This could also work on some of your other project. I'd buy a DIY kit or two. This would work great for a lot of viewers.
I also need a good holster for a latherman tool & one for a edc tac light like the convoy S2+ this could be other kits you could sell.
Sure I have a Tandy store close buy but I don't have a clicker press or belt loop cutter plus Tandys kits suck...
It's a great idea Brad and we've definitely toyed with the idea before. We'll probably do something like that in the near future. Just need more time;)
can you make this product in the yuki sewing machine?
It's possible but I prefer to use at least 207 thread on heavy weight leather like this which is why I used the Cobra
@@whitandpark I'm looking for my first sewing machine, and I want a machine that I can make like wallets and belts.
👍👍👍

Ur knives ain't sharp enough. Trust me u can get knives that are so sharp they r scary to use. I have one that has a titanium blade n it scares the hell outta me to use. So I only use it when I need a blade that u would think would sink to the core if u dropped it lol
