It’s easy for them to do this because they’re tucked away in the Himalayas with no resource allocation. As a result not only are they hard to reach they have nothing of materialistic value that would persuade subjugation. This is not the case for Sri Lanka as an example, a Buddhist country which would rather be isolated like Bhutan but is unable to for it sits in the most geographically strategic location in the world, is stock full of material, and is the subject of occult obsession resulting in every empire and religion wanting the island for themselves and doing whatever they can to ensure the Sinhalese Buddhists don’t have complete control and establish an ethno-nationalist Buddhist Kingdom of old that would prevent others from having a piece of the pie.

Another unique thing about Bhutan: Unlike their neighbors, their most popular sport is ARCHERY! Archery was declared the national sport in 1971, when Bhutan became a member of the United Nations. Archery in Bhutan is culturally distinctive because it is a martial art practiced among a modern population that abhors killing. Bhutanese people from different social strata find archery one of the most enjoyable sports, being both fun and physical exercise. In addition, archery builds concentration, which contributes to mental development, according to a Bhutanese proverb, both sailing and archery require intelligence. Archery in Bhutan is a way of socialization, communication, and development of relations between people. Emotions run high during competitions, and support for archers and ridicule or distraction of opponents can become as violent as in other countries' sporting events
Throughout the history of Bhutan, fire and the bow and arrow were an important means of survival in the highlands during war and on hunts. The bow and arrow play a significant role in many Bhutanese myths and legends. Symbolic and religious significance of the bow and arrow is associated with the legendary murder of Tibetan King Langdarma in the 10th century. The king had persecuted Buddhism, and thus failed to perform his duty as he made mischief. A Buddhist monk, Lhalung Pelgyi Dorje, performed the Black Hat Dance to entertain the king, during which he feigned a bow before the king, drew a bow and arrow hidden in the big sleeves of a ceremonial dance costume, and killed the king. In the 15th century, most prophecies by Lama Drukpa Kunley are believed to have originated from his bow and arrows. Modernly, the bow and arrows are an obligatory feature of any religious ceremony, ritual, festival, and holiday in Bhutan. Archery has also been a favorite sport of the King of Bhutan, handed down from generation to generation. During the Bhutanese period of theocratic rule (1616-1907), there was no regular standing army. The bow and arrow were among the principal means of arming the population during frequent upheavals and invasions. During times of crisis, the government raised militias from among local lords' retinues, all commanded by one dapon or 'arrow chief'.

The Bhutan flag is so epic. Here's the lore behind it: The yellow half represents the yellow scarf worn by the monarch, which in turn represents the being of the monarch. The orange half represents the spiritual tradition, the flourishing of the Buddhist teachings in general and that of the Kagyu and Nyingma traditions in particular. The dragon's placement in the center of the flag over the dividing line between the flag's two colors signifies the equal importance of both civic and monastic traditions in the Kingdom of Druk and evokes the strength of the sacred bond between sovereign and people. The dragon's white color signifies the undefiled thoughts of the people that express their loyalty, patriotism and great sense of belonging to the Kingdom although they have different ethnic and linguistic origins. The jewels held in the dragon's claws represent Bhutan's wealth and the security and protection of its people.
A very cool thing that took place in Bhutan is The Other Final which is a 2003 documentary. In 2002, Montserrat were ranked last in the world FIFA rankings, with Bhutan ranked second to last. Prior to their meeting, Bhutan, who first competed in 1982, had never won an official FIFA match while Montserrat, who made their debut in 1950, had only managed two victories, both against Anguilla in the 1995 Caribbean Cup. Financial constraints and a slump in the popularity of the game in the 1980s and 1990s had impacted the development of the national team in Bhutan, and the low level of facilities in the country had prevented the team from even attempting to qualify for the FIFA World Cup. And a volcanic eruption in the 1990s in Montserrat impacted football in Montserrat. So two Dutch ad-agency partners, after seeing the Netherlands fail to qualify, decided to have the two teams at the bottom of the rankings compete in a friendly in Thimphu on the day of the 2002 World Cup final, with Bhutan winning four to zero, their very first win!

The lhotshampa (nepali) came to bhutan as labours and were provided free land due to their hard work but later on the local leaders started to revolt agaisnt the policy of one nation one people bcs they wanted their own culture and nation so they started to wreck havoc in the country as a result most of them were exiled from the countey though most didnt deserve but they themselve had ran away due to fear and those that didnt are now happy and a strong citizen of bhutan
