"AUTOPSY’S SEMINAL DEBUT OF HIGHLY INFLUENTIAL GORE-SOAKED DEATH METAL:
One of the early death metal acts, & no stranger to controversy over the years, Autopsy formed in 1987 in San Francisco, & released 4 albums on Peaceville Records before disbanding in 1995 & going on to form Abscess, only to re-emerge as Autopsy after an almost 15 year hiatus with the stunning ‘The Tomb Within’, as well as a string of successful releases following afterwards.
The band features legendary drummer Chris Reifert, who began his recording career with US metal greats, Death, before taking on the unusual duty of handling drums & vocals for Autopsy, alongside longstanding riff-masters Eric Cutler & Danny Coralles.
Autopsy has influenced a whole generation of extreme metal bands, from Entombed & Dismember to Darkthrone. ‘Severed Survival’ is (rightly) hailed as one of death metal’s finest releases. A completely rotten & uncompromising sound full of dirty, sludgy, death & doom metal mixed with repulsive tales of death and disease, it was originally released in April 1989."

I heard about that show from a few people, that's cool you got that record signed by the band, total Classick!!!! I got the alternate zombie surgeon cover first press, one of my favorite pieces of art EVER!
Lucky!!! That bass live though.... WOW. I should've scheduled an interview with Immolation and Castrator when I went to Joes Steaks last week I know Ross would've said yes.. I was going to ask Greg Wilkinson as well If I could talk to him on camera for a bit but remembered I left all that stuff at home as I just wanted to enjoy the show. But I could've gotten some really cool interviews ect for the channel but I just felt like talking about Autopsy. I hope your stoked with the Patreon Picks this month some stuff are preorders like the Blood Incantation-Astral Spells 10" Reissue and the new Spite 2xLP but we have 4 Headsplit Records new releases, SWANS-Public Castration Is A Good Idea And Thats All We Had Money For. But I'm Happy With Especially The New Headsplit Stuff And SWANS which aren't preorders But hopefully everything from this month will arrive in late November or December At The Latest But There's Only two Spite LPs left so it was grab one stateside now or Have to drop over $40 on Invictus...
Severed Survival is peak OSDM along with Leprosy. Specially SS, that album sounds like the dude on the cover is screaming his pains and sins
I always loved Severed Survival but hearing those songs live was a whole different level of HEAVINESS... CONSIDERING ITS LIKE 35 YEARS OLD... It still is HEAVIER THAN 99.9% Of Modern Death Metal releases! I'm not gonna drop their name but someone I was talking to said Leporsy was total dog crap compared to, "Scream Bloody Gore" like two totally different sounding albums IMO like im biased towards Scream Bloody Gore , but Leporsy is a great Death Metal album... I mean there is better especially during the year of its release. But its still a damn good album that holds up as well.
