AFTER I GOT THE, "VID" FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER 4 WEEKS AGO, AND THEN , "FROG MYST" HAVING TO CANCEL A SHOW ON SATURDAY DUE TO P.H CATCHING THE "VID" TESTING POSITIVE A FEW HOURS BEFORE WE WERE SCHEDULED TO LEAVE FOR NEW JERSEY... NOW THIS IS GETTING SKETCHY.
NORMALLY, WHATEVER... LIFE GOES ON BUT WHEN LOOKING AROUND, "AUTOPSY" LAST WEEKEND I NOTICED OVER 20+ MASKS TOTAL... I HAVEN'T SEEN A MASK AT A SHOW IN A YEAR AND SOME CHANGE NOW... KNOWING I HAD GOTTEN IT FROM MY AUNT TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO , "AUTOPSY" WAS BRUTAL... I'M NOT GONNA LIE WHOEVER SAID THIS IS JUST LIKE A COLD.... NO. IDK IF ITS JUST BECAUSE I HADN'T GOTTEN IT UNTIL A FEW WEEKS AGO BUT I GOT MY ASS KICKED BY THE , "VID" BUT I WAS GOOD AFTER, "AUTOPSY" AND WAS GOOD SATURDAY MORNING BEFORE GETTING THE MESSAGE THAT P.H WAS POSITIVE...
I'M JUST CURIOUS IS THIS JUST A LITTLE PHILLY OUTBREAK? OR IS THIS ALSO HAPPENING IN YOUR CITY? IF SO WHAT ARE YOU DOING ABOUT IT AS I REALLY DON'T WANT TO GO BACK TO ANYTHING RESEMBLING 2020... BUT RIGHT NOW STUFF IS JUST SHADY AND I HAVE A BAD FEELING . HENCE MY ANXIETY LED TODAYS VIDEO. ALSO THIS HAS BEEN BOTHERING ME SINCE WE HAD TO CANCEL THE SHOW SATURDAY... I honestly have broken more bones than I've been sick. Like seriously I haven't even had like a headache in like 20 years. No joking, all my shit is like knocking teeth out, swollen knees, and breaking my neck was GNARLY. But like I don't want to jinx it but I'VE NEVER HAD THE REGULAR FLU which boggles my mind.. But I thought maybe I couldn't get the VID but it hit me like a ton of bricks four weeks ago. If you go back and watch some videos from a few weeks ago you'll hear me coughing really viciously, that was the only aftermath after the one full day I felt like I was going to die. But okay so it sounds like PA, CA, NJ, NY And AZ have folks I know that know people Or have caught it recently. I really want to know if Nick Mullen had it 14 times. Lol I know when Comedian Jordan Jenson gets it she just pretends she doesn't and gets everyone else sick around her. She also claims to have gotten it over 10 times.
Only the first time?! That's impressive! I've only had it once that I know of last May but I definitely know friends who've gotten it like four times. Granted I work from home and rarely leave the house. There seems to be more cases recently because it's seasonal and there's going to be more cases as we move into the fall and winter. It's basically like the flu at this point in that it's not going anywhere. Get the new non-variant dependent vax, It's available now. And, FYI, people still don't seem to understand that the vax does not prevent you from getting covid, but it severely lessens the symptoms that can lead to hospitalization.
But I'm with you as far as cancelling shows. One time out bassist couldn't get out of his house because of a snow storm so our second guitarist borrowed another band's bass and learned his parts backstage before we played. The only time one of my bands had to cancel is when a member got gnarly sick and ended up in the hospital and we found out like an hour before the show with no time to figure anything else out.
Thats how this was I found out at 12:30pm that his test was positive and I had no way to the venue as it wasn't close. But I still didn't personally cancel it, as I was looking for a ride until it was just too late.. then I found out Mortiis was the same night but at a tiny dive with tons of angry fans who were expecting a regular venue 1,000+ venue. Oh well, but I was out every day in 2020/2021 until I broke my neck. Now I would wear my mask no matter what just because I really don't like talking to people sometimes especially if there's some virus going around so I'd throw shades on and the mask... boom I was in a disguise. But seriously I haven't even heard a joke about it since the last time around 6 months ago we had to cancel two shows due to the VID. Again I Would've 100% Played Them Myself But None Were Local. I got the shots and stuff but ever since a few friends have passed away/gotten really sick at very young ages all of whom have the shot and booster like myself...it just got me all sketched out.
But I probably should get that shot as I don't want to have to cancel anything because I get sick like I said Im dead serious I will do my part from a room in the venue far away from everyone else and I'll drive myself so I don't get anyone else sick. Idc if I feel like I did a few weeks ago, Id still muscle thru the set. But This was just bad timing/just found out too late. But back in the SPT days, we played shows with older members stepping in and learning tracks like we had a show booked with Incantation and my bassist at the time was gonna be on vacation in Arizona, so we taught the dude he replaced the new songs, and even got our old guitar player back on for one show because they knew it was a big deal to us as Incantation fans back in 2005 but it was Vital Remains who really took us under their wing. They even thank Skeleton Proof Tanks in The Icons Of Evil Thank You List! I Regret turning down trying out for Vital Remains touring vocals as I would've toured Europe and been on the DVD but I didn't want SPT to think I was putting Vital Remains above them.
But even when our guitar player got ACL Surgery he showed up at the venue 25 minutes before our set this one time in 2005 and he was all messed up on pain meds... but we got him a comfortable chair and Got him situated to play where I really think it was the drugs but it was probably the tightest set he ever played.. I think it was because he was sitting down. But even surgery meant if we have a show that night you better be there.
But with the VID its contagious factor make a lot of this impossible without being selfish and getting everyone in the venue sick. But when I heard a member of another band playing also had the VID I honestly assumed the venue would just throw the towel in. I hope they rebook this, because I Love playing live, and if I could I would tour. But I just wish we could play Philly as if something like this happened we wouldn't have to cancel. But for some reason its like impossible for us to get booked in Philly I'm hoping when we finish all this new material that will change but the quality of our music has ZERO to do with us being booked. We aren't in the cool guy club, we don't drink booze, I go to shows still, but I normally talk to my friends in Moros and their friends who I'll see at 9/10 shows I attend, I'm still cool with the two promoters who mostly book Death Metal which Adabesi Lives could be playing on. But we haven't been asked yet to play a show, and from what I was told our messages were ignored. But yeah I felt like I was gonna die when I got the VID. But I really thought I might never get it but my aunt got me 4 weeks ago. Hopefully we don't have to ever cancel a show again. If sadly that means having to wear the mask to pick up a slice of Pizza I'd rather be healthy enough to play a show and look like a scared dude, but I have a life and I love when I actually get to enjoy my life. After we started playing shows again, I was so happy. But I refused to book them myself after being the sole SPT booker for a few years... and having both our live projects being duos... I can't do Adabesi Lives solo, but I can 100% do Frog Myst solo. I Would book a month long tour if I could find another band that would be into it, and if Pat was down. If he wasn't Id have to honestly do it solo as I couldn't turn down a tour oppertunity. I just love playing live and I got the bug to play live again.. But I'm just stressing about this season... hopefully its not as gnarly as 2020... but the fact that crap is still out there just be safe folks and remember if you are in a band, with like a tour coming up for example thats paid for in advance in Europe lets say.
BE SMART AND WEAR A MASK THE ENTIRE TWO WEEKS BEFORE TOUR AND DO YOUR BEST TO NOT BE AROUND A TON OF PEOPLE.
I can't imagine like being invited for say 4 shows in Japan with flights paid for, ect. But we have to cancel because one member has the VID.. That would suck so bad.. But thats how I've always tried to look at shows even the crappy ones, like if I can make one new fan that night I've done my job.

Listen, I get it, but you need to keep in mind that correlation doesn't imply causation. I'm sure your friends also wear shoes, drive cars, eat food, etc. Putting the blame on the vax is an easy way to make a complex issue simple but, statistically, it's just not the case. Straight up, if I was running the world, Joe Rogan would be in jail and all his money would go to the families of those who lost loved ones because of him spouting ignorance as facts with no one questioning him. Not saying you're doing same AT ALL but, as a researcher myself, when people start trying to imply something more sinister based off of nothing but "vibes" - I start seeing red.
@@rubberlover666I'm not talking about vaccines or anything that just opens a can of worms I don't want to open but I just find it weird that all of a sudden like people who were 100% healthy 3 months ago are like dead now. I honestly at the moment don't really like taking anything that isn't my medical marijuana. Like I really honestly try to keep it as natural as possible aside from my anxiety medication which I am just a total disaster without.
