I truly think Lame Lillard is not the superstar Giannis wanted but he had no choice as there was really no one else available at the time, as a result they are not playing cohesively and not playing happy. Fit and roster cohesion is just as important.
I mean, I called this back when the Lillard trade first came up. Dame for Jrue was just a bad trade. Dame is a more dynamic player, but I'd argue that Jrue is just better for a team that wants to win. Why? Because Jrue does a little bit of everything. He's an elite defender, solid playmaker, above average rebounder for a guard and he scores not with volume necessarily, but with efficiency. Dame throws up a lot more points, but defensively he's a liability, his playmaking is average at best and he's not a good rebounder. For a contending team, I'd much rather have versatility (a guy who can make an impact in a variety of situations) as opposed to a guy who is only really contributing when he has the ball in his hands. The Bucks also relied a lot on Jrue, especially his ability to battle on the perimeter. This allowed Milwaukee to deploy Lopez in drop coverage (where he was very good defensively). Putting Dame in exposes Lopez more. Since Dame can't defend the perimeter, it is easier for teams to either attack him or force Lopez to switch into defending the perimeter where he is pretty bad (remember back in the playoffs Kawhi was deliberately seeking Lopez on the perimeter as a match up...and Kawhi isn't exactly known for his offensive quickness). Add Doc Rivers into that mess and it's basically a 'create your own disaster' scenario. It's too bad too. While I am a Celtics fan, I've always really admired Giannis. He's a guy who comes across as just being a hard worker that dedicates his life to the game and I respect that a great deal.
Giannis going to get traded pretty soon and the NBA power dynamic going to shift again... actually really can't wait for it lol The Bucks going to blow it up after this season if they get taken out of the first round.
When this happened i thought oh jrue with Scoot would be good for Scoot but then they started talking about waiving jrue and j said he going to boston n boston gon win.
Good. Not only did they prevent Dame from going to Miami, they also indirectly helped Boston win a chip by trading Holiday so they deserve everything that's happening to their poverty franchise
I got heckled online when I said the Bucks were cooked when they brought in Dame. People genuinely believed the addition of Lillard made them one of the favourites to go all the way. Lillard is a fraud. He is the Temu James Harden. He can't defend whatsoever like Harden, but he doesn't have the offensive bag Harden does (or once had).
When I said the Lillard acquisition would ruin the Bucks I got a lot of shit from people for it. Well, as it turns out, defense still matters in the NBA.
Let’s count the bad defenders in bucks starting line up . Dame , Trent , prince. 😂😂 that’s 3 practice cones. Neither of these guys can navigate screens but honestly doc rivers putting them through hell not switching
Bud is a great regular season coach. His lack of flexibility probably stopped them from winning 2-3 titles. Said that, he won them a title. I guess it was a bad idea to let the team get so old and put a very bad coach like Doc to lead them
Dame is this generation’s melo.. I hate to say it because I love both of them as players but their play doesn’t lead to team success. I honestly would say dame might be the most overrated player of the last 10 years.. no defense and needs the ball constantly. The bucks are going to have to sell on this squad and that’s sad to see for them. On top of the fact that they treat Brook Lopez like he’s a star and he hasn’t been that in years.. he had a nice season a few years ago but they paid him too much and relied on that too much
keep smiling to myself remembering how last year many people thrown insults to me just because i stated an obvious fact: Dame will destroys any competitiveness Bucks has any left atter Jrue left them.... for another championship on his name lmao
Both Dame and Jrue are inconsistent scorers lol. Dame is a way better scorer, but still inconsistent. The difference is Jrue's defense is consistent, and elite. If his shots ain't falling, he's still shutting down the opposing PG, which Dame can't do. And with White next to him in the backcourt, Tatum and Brown on the wings, Jrue isn't gonna get switched to mismatches any time soon.
Giannis needs to stay away from anything but playing. The front office has made horrendous decisions. Budenholzer firing was a head scratcher, trading for Dame and giving away Holliday was beyond stupid, and cherry on top...hiring Doc...the worst coach in the NBA and any professional league ever. This is sheer incompetence. My prediction is they may not even make the playoffs this year.
I've had the same prediction as you the past two years. Adrian Griffin made sure that my prediction didn't come true last season, but this season we may be right. I could see this coming a mile away. NEVER trade the best defenders on your team. An offensive player will give away more points than he'll score most nights.
I think Bucks problem is their management and NBA fans in general, not understanding that players like Jrue and Middleton Are winning players while Dame is a loser you can’t build winners around. Dame can take you to the playoffs but no further.
I think our hands were tied on the Jrue Holiday trade. We were lacking another offensive weapon and even with his elite defense at Guard, we needed to upgrade. I don’t blame the bucks for that decision to go from Jrue to Dame. We didn’t have the personnel to maximize Jrue’s effectiveness and probably didn’t see our rivals picking him up. I blame the bucks for the coaching decisions and roster construction. Love Brooke, but he’s 100 years old. Love Middleton, man is 98 years old with bad ankles.
Exactly. Who could've seen the Celtics acquiring Jrue? That was a shock. I saw somebody say this earlier, and I agree: Middleton should've been traded instead of Jrue, given what has become of him. A Dame-Jrue backcourt would've been much better.
@@urbaindelva7869I forgot the timing but was not Middleton re-signed in that offseason (same with Brooke)? If so I don't think they were available for trade. Jrue was the only player of value they could have trade. And letting Middleton or Lopez go in FA open significant cap open to sign FA.
No your hands were not tied, Giannis and Jrue were the core of your defensive team and should never ever be touched. You were a Buddy Hield (or as you had arranged a Bogdanovic) away from full form. If you had to let go of someone it would be Lopez or Middleton. And you hold on to Bud for too long wasting your better years.
@@IKnowHuh731 facts, without the help the refs Celtics would have easily won it that year. But NBA wanted that international money. Same thing with Jokic. Just a Divac who can shoot a little bit better.
The bucks have looked old since the 2023 playoffs. Honestly not much they could have done with always drafting late due to regular season success the last 6-7 years. Maybe should have sold Middleton after the 21 championship run for draft capital but honestly they were still in contention in 22 so that would have made no sense. Trade for a younger player? Definitely not fire their best coach in a long time and fire another ok one for Doc lol.
Giannis is having an identity crisis, he doesn't know if he's a PG, SG, SF, PF, or a C & subsequently the team is suffering!! The bucks have FIVE players from that championship run in '21, so why can't they duplicate what they did 🤔?? Doc is ridiculously overrated.....IMO 😐!!
Giannis is the only one who is still super elite ,dame for me was never a superstar player ,he was only a star player but now i dont think hes can play at that star level consistently like he did before ,also he is so bad on defence its an abomination
Dame was a terrible trade. He walks up the floor gassed and does not play defense. Dame also shoots very poorly and needs to shoot blanks alot to get his 26 PPG.

I truly think Lame Lillard is not the superstar Giannis wanted but he had no choice as there was really no one else available at the time, as a result they are not playing cohesively and not playing happy. Fit and roster cohesion is just as important.
Nah, they just wanted to block that Dame trade to Miami lol. Lowkey Miami dodged a bullet not trading for Dame, they were all in.
They should try to get Marcus Smart he won't give you much offensively but a good defender
As a Grizz fan I endorse the Bucks trading for Smart
Downhill was listening to Giannis on what to do with the team. Bucks are cooked, trade Dame and Giannis and start rebuilding
Giannis going to get traded pretty soon and the NBA power dynamic going to shift again... actually really can't wait for it lol
The Bucks going to blow it up after this season if they get taken out of the first round.
Celts fan here…thanks for the ‘old’ Jrue Holiday…and for that you get our leftovers…the great Doc Rivers.
Giannis needs his brother back😢😂.
i used to think the bucks were a top tier team i guess i was wrong
Lakers building on their historic free throw discrepancy, piling on 74 in 2 games.
Dame had one good playoffs on one end of the floor. Why did we ever think of him as a superstar? I just don't get it.
Thanks for letting us get Jrue ☘🏆🥇
i mean most of yall forgot about the defense suffer when dame was going to be traded
0:30 who knew this man right here would inadvertently get coach who won the team a championship fired and key players Jrue Holiday traded.
Right?
Call me crazy, at the time of the trade I said I wouldnt give up Holiday for Dame straight up. I stand by that claim.
They fired griffin and signed THE CURSED ONE and added the Clown Ham.
🗣 GRAYSON WENT TO LEAD THE LEAGUE IM 3PT% & JRUE THE DEFENSIVE LEAD TO THE CHAMPIONS!!! THAT'S CRAZY 😂😂
Bud is a great regular season coach. His lack of flexibility probably stopped them from winning 2-3 titles. Said that, he won them a title.
I guess it was a bad idea to let the team get so old and put a very bad coach like Doc to lead them
Probably this is going to be Giannis last season with Milwaukee.
On top of the fact that they treat Brook Lopez like he’s a star and he hasn’t been that in years.. he had a nice season a few years ago but they paid him too much and relied on that too much
I remember when the Bucks traded for Dame and people called them immediate title favorites. Lol. Lmao, even.
Trading for a better player doesn’t mean your team will get better. Dame is better than Jrue but Jrue was a better fit for the Bucks.
The offense is stagnant
keep smiling to myself remembering how last year many people thrown insults to me just because i stated an obvious fact: Dame will destroys any competitiveness Bucks has any left atter Jrue left them.... for another championship on his name lmao
The Bucks are terrible right now.
if you look at age they are old
middlton 32
lopez 36
lillard 34
even though still young but giannis is starting to reach early 30's
How have the Bucks gone through 3 head coaches and always sucked at guarding 3s? Couldn’t posssssibly be the players, oh noo
Trade Giannis and Dame for picks this window is shut.
Pretty much
Defense wins championships. Hire me Bucks.
What they failed to neglect? Wtf 😂😂😂😂
Giannis going to Denver
It didn't help that Portland got in return two injury prone players and thw Celtics didn't lose anything in the trade.
Dame don’t like playing with Giannis😭 I wouldn’t either
Why?
I don't think that's what it is.
Because hoopers dont respect frauds. Giannis is just a taller westbrook
@@IKnowHuh731 facts, without the help the refs Celtics would have easily won it that year. But NBA wanted that international money. Same thing with Jokic. Just a Divac who can shoot a little bit better.
@@chan13153lol, casual take
The bucks have looked old since the 2023 playoffs.
They don’t even have much draft capital as it is
So annoying
@@franklingroup5460 You see what I mean.....thanks for proving my point
Giannis is having an identity crisis, he doesn't know if he's a PG, SG, SF, PF, or a C & subsequently the team is suffering!! The bucks have FIVE players from that championship run in '21, so why can't they duplicate what they did 🤔?? Doc is ridiculously overrated.....IMO 😐!!
Not really dame just keep pulling threes instead of passing it like he supposed to
Right. There is totally nothing else outside of that that is hurting them right now. 😒
They are old period.
Giannis was a crybaby always wanting his little brother shit to be always with him in the team destroys the future of the team
Giannis is the only one who is still super elite ,dame for me was never a superstar player ,he was only a star player but now i dont think hes can play at that star level consistently like he did before ,also he is so bad on defence its an abomination
Lol, arguably their best player.
Dame was a terrible trade. He walks up the floor gassed and does not play defense. Dame also shoots very poorly and needs to shoot blanks alot to get his 26 PPG.
Giannis have no jump shot so they can’t effectively run pick and roll
He’s 2nd on jumpshot in the league.
❤
Root cause: Lame Dame.
capture the Flagg
Except they don’t have their pick
Once again all the teams are on here showing that they lost or they won but you can't find any footage of The darlings of the ESPN Los Angeles Fakers loss 😂😂😂 they win they're everywhere
Hey is better all around player than Dame.
dame clearly does not want to be there. and you cant blame him, imagine being an nba star and having to live in milwaukee 9 months of the year
Fake champs
Doc Rivers sucks
Took me a long because of the whole black thing. Doc rivers is kinda trash
Choosing Dame over Klay on 75 greatest players in NBA still ????
Yes every time lol. Klay isn't making the playoffs in portland at all.
@ , hahaha I know right.
Dame time = 0 🏆 , Game 6 Klay 4 🏆🏆🏆🏆 lol
Yes, I would absolutely still take Dame over Klay
@ , that’s cool, retire without a ring , unfulfilled basketball career.
@@rytferndz24 Klay also played with steph dray, KD, iggy, and was outplayed by poole in the last one. but sure.
