One more thing, I would LOVE to see some mushroom blondes or browns; AND/or level 6/7 formulations. There aren’t enough educational videos of these and I feel that they are the most flattering on everyone but I can NEVER get the formula down perfect.
@@Blendsations can’t wait! I need help! I for the life of me can’t get my hair color right. What formula do you use if you want to achieve mushroom bronde (not too ashy not too warm- (almost like a baby blonde/dishwater blonde) I can’t get rid of this brass! I’m too afraid to leave the shades eq on long enough I think...I used 7T plus a little bit of 7N and it did nothing. Maybe I need to go to a level 6? Currently working on STILL brassy level 7 roots/mids , level 8 ends /balayage
I believe The rv’s are violent (rose gold)purply not red. Also I have to say that the formulas are pretty specific especially since it’s acid based so you can’t use different products and get the same result. Redken shines are also a treatment. . It’s like saying if I mix egg beaters and real egg it’s the same because they are both eggs 🥚 no it’s not that same. Food even taste different when cooked in different pans ex. 2 you can’t use all extreme ash and expect it to not be flat looking. Redken works very well so learning formulas that produce balanced results is real advantage
It’s literally like chemistry in a lab. Especially with the background colors! I had no idea hair color even was that technical! Its a lot to take into consideration and I think a hair colorist who understands this is soooo hard to find! Always learning!!
Do another one! I loved it! I was so happy to see you working on an orange level 7...but yes the outcome was a little teeny bit ‘womp womp’ but that’s ok!! It just totally confirmed to me that a natural should go into just about every root formula to maintain balance
I'd love to see you test some popular EQ mixes for blondes, say a level 9 or 10 to start and use a range of mixes like 9V, 9P & 9N, or 9V, 9p & 9GI, or 9VG & 9P. It would be good to see how these mixtures work out. Thanks for posting.
That first colour was exactly how my hair turned out when I tried to cover the orange! I don’t want to go darker and I don’t think my hair can handle any more bleach so I have no idea how to get some life and light back into it 😢
I want a medium ash/moss green brown color and I’m trying to see what will work with eq shades 6GN (Moss). I need to be careful it doesn’t turn black lol. I want like a level 5 result but that kind of dark mossy ash brown color. Any suggestions on what to mix with? Starting color will prob be a level 8 or 9
Love this video new subscriber keep making more of these videos for first time learners because you always mix an m or neutral or gold some type of opposite with an ash learned that the hard way and also the purple the ro's in shades is violet /red just done that the other day and had a client turn pinkish purple but I was lacking gold or neutral I think this is totally awesome for beginners and very much needed out in UA-cam thank you!!! 💪💪💪💪💯💯💯💯💯
I’m curious about the 8t color. My hair has some yellow/gold and orange tones with the tops being very light. I want to know if the 8t would work on its own?
No the levels are too far apart. And 9V won’t be able to cancel out gold at a level 6. It may just make the toner lighter. Do them at the same level. 8VG is one of my favorite toners by shades Eq
Hi, i was wondering what if you use a darker shade of redken shades eq (level5) and you want to remove the color and go for a level 9 shade, what do you use to remove the color ? would malibu cpr help?
Hi! So color does not remove color. You can not put a level 9 on a 5 and expect it to get lift. Malibu CPR is a great treatment to do before going lighter! It will help break down dye molecules so it’s easier to lift past the current color
It was different because you used 2 different colors....next time try doing the same recipe but do half clear and ijust use the color you used for the roots probably be perfect!! Thank for sharing!!

Yes deff planing on something for next video ! Redken shades Eq part 4 ? Lol

Send me pics of your hair on my hair page, it’s blendxsations then I’ll let you know what I would do !
@@Blendsations ok but what page? Instagram?
Blendxsations !!
The best thing to remember about Shades EQ is that it is a progressive colour molecule, meaning the longer you leave it on the darker the outcome.
I actually thought the first try turned out pretty well, given the orange you started with!
I love how you went in your cabinet and got some most empties and tried it on a mannequin that is so awesome really I give you much props💯💯
Thank you !!

Thank you for this feed back! This is exactly why I make videos like this. Just for fun and to learn from it! I’m a hands on learner !

Oh girl I got tons of shades Eq videos for you! I’m currently editing another one right now
@@Blendsations Awesome, can't wait!
Yeah I thought it actually turned out quite well... it actually helped me figure out my own hair. I looked like Mrs. Maniquin..
Same

4:30 it actually looks better than I thought it would
I quite like it first round, then saw more close up at the end... ended up good tho. I realize you had a result you wanted
in mind..
Suggestion, a lil more styling on the outcomes it helps appreciate your work more 😘

Thanks for the video
I’m curious about the 8t color. My hair has some yellow/gold and orange tones with the tops being very light. I want to know if the 8t would work on its own?
Wow surprises.. Dang didnt think it look like that good job
I think it's pretty 😍
Would mixing 9v in 6GG toner bring it to Natural? Would the violet help to cancel the gold? But not make it too ashy?
No the levels are too far apart. And 9V won’t be able to cancel out gold at a level 6. It may just make the toner lighter.
Do them at the same level. 8VG is one of my favorite toners by shades Eq
Hi! Very nice ! I have orange and yellow in my hair, what level should I use to remove those? A 7? A 8?
A in shades is auburn accent so it’s orange ! You will need a Blue / violet toner to cancel out orange/yellow !
this is such an informative video!!! thank you!!!
Thank you!!
You should try out guy tang toners next! Especially the rapid ones!!
i disagree i really like the hair color
Same
Do i need a level 7 toner to remove the orange from bleached hair? Or what would u say
Yes. The dominate pigment at level 7 is orange.
I would use a BV + N
@@Blendsations yes absolutely love your formulation and channel can't get enough 💜😭💜
Particularly the T shows at least a level darker than what it is
Yes this makes sense

En miami donde lo compro
Used same brand today and it did same thing!
I love the color I think it looks nice but I’m not a professional

Its because those shades of toner were not meant for that color of hair. The hair needed to be much lighter in order to achieve the right tone..
Have you done a video on the level 8/9 toners for blondes
Appreciate you
Not weird at all, red and blue make purple
Where can I buy mannequin head to practice highlights..pls.HELP
Amazon
It’s prettier after it fades a lil
I came here due to the title, but the fact that you mixed Joico in makes this different :/
I like it! I'm weird I guess...
Something about it is really bugging me that you're using Loomis shine when you titled the video testing redken shades
I’m sorry
😅
its not bad tho
This is the situation of hairdressers in lockdown 🤣 They're going crazy at home 🌚🤍🤍🤍
Lol right
@@Blendsations you're talented girl 🦋💙

Leave the v out
Yes that’s ugly and drab! Those violets and blues can make ugly old colors sometimes lol
