    Would you be so kind and do a video on what items someone may take with them if moving from the mainland, to Oahu.
    Such as things hard to find on the island, or much cheaper, or even impossible to find on the island.
    If I could stock up on items that would make my 1st year on Oahu easier, what would they be?
    Thank you!

      Thanks for the suggestion. Tough to say what to bring from the mainland. A lot of things can be shipped here, but it takes a while.

      @Bunnyroo7 3 роки тому

      There are no ferries. There are many flights every day between Honolulu and both Hilo and Kailua Kona.

    Aloha, tony from NYC I enjoy your videos very very much, and very resourceful, can you make a video on moving expense from the mainland like the east coast let say New York for instance I was thinking of shipping my stuff via Hawaiian Air if possible tell me what you think, please give some advice on this Mahalo

    • @HelloFromHawaii
      @HelloFromHawaii  4 роки тому +2

      Thanks for the video idea. I can add it to my growing list of video ideas. In terms of costs, I'm not sure how I'd do that since I never lived on the East Coast. I did ship over my stuff and car from the Midwest. But it was also easier for me because I could ship it to my parent's place for storage and I didn't have to find a place to live on my own. Thanks again for the idea.

    Do you think it would be ok by august 2020? I had planned one but not too sure because of covid 19

      It's hard to say. They extended the lockdown until at least the end of May. I'm hoping by August things will be okay.

      Hello From Hawaii Now the end of July. It will be hard for small businesses to recover from this, especially those which cater to tourists. I’ve heard reports that economists are predicting an exodus of residents from Hawaii to the mainland because of the damage to the economy because of the extended shutdown by the Hawaiian government lasting weeks or months after the rest of the country has reopened.

    I'll be coming to Hawaii 4/22 or 4/23. For a honeymoon I never had with my wife. It's for our 6 year anniversary. Where should I hike, places to eat and ect.

    It is interesting that Hawaii is banning plastic shopping bags, while much of the country has discovered that reusable shopping bags seem to be a health risk because they typically are not washed between uses.

    I visited Oahu this last may with my (now ex) girlfriend and family and loved it. I'm planning on going back possibly in the late summer / early fall of this year.
    Part of me wants to move there (I'm a recent college grad this past December and have been working full-time since January) but the cost of everything and the distance from where I currently live (Upstate New York) makes me wonder about that.

    • @HelloFromHawaii
      @HelloFromHawaii  4 роки тому +1

      It's tough with the cost and being so far away. Maybe figure out what kind of work you can get in Hawaii and see if you're willing to make the sacrifices to move here.
