So, what do you all think? Should I do a video on actual nutrition? How I do it, tips and tricks and advice? Let me know?

Bro you hammer out videos 💪🏽. Variety is overrated when cooking daily and it makes ordering out more fun 🤩

Maybe consider going once a month to Pricesmart (Costa Rican Cotsco). That bag of blueberries the local pulperias get them from Pricesmart and jack up the price (I would too), but that bag goes for around 7000 colons which should be actually less than what you pay back in Canada. I believe that in your case it means getting onto the Ferry and go to Central Valley area, that or go all the way up to Liberia (there's a store there). I believe PriceSmart just started offering shipping on orders that are Idk $150 or sth, not sure they'll actually deliver in ST, but check their website. Good luck

Yes! I just found out today that they deliver, the same bag is about $18. I think that’s US, but still cheaper. I don’t mind spending the money in town here to be honest, but we do stock up when we take road trips and have one coming up soon! Thanks John!

My daughter lives in Santa Teresa and I was down there last year and I don’t remember spending that kind of money at restaurants. Even some of the nicest restaurants. Yes, it was a little bit pricey but not like that.

I checked almost every charge on my credit card statement and every single time it’s $80-$100 and we don’t drink alcohol. Maybe the prices are much higher? I have a feeling they are up everywhere, I know before we left Canada the restaurants were getting higher as well.

I love the chicken, pork and fish in Costa Rica, occasionally the beef can be tough

I just worked Envision festival, was fed vegan food for 9 days straight, so I was ready to head back to the capital city for some real food. Wrong, i'm in San Jose now, and the food here is still pretty bland AND expensive. I'm so done with gallo pinto, at least the Costa Rican variety. How can you mess up something so simple as rice and beans?? I'm Mexican American, so I definitely know rice and beans. I fly back to California tomorrow, so as soon as I land, i'm going out for a big fat carne asada or al pastor burrito. I will also be smoking a brisket this weekend.
Now I know why no one ever says "lets go out for Costa Rican food"

Ahahahaha. I guess I can see where you’re coming from. Truth is, I basically only eat the food I cook and get sushi the odd time.

Hey bro, first time commenting here.
I live in Santa Ana, near that grass fed store in San José, but I usually like to get a more marbled meat.
That cut is what brazilians call Picanha, we call it punta de solomo. I like to reverse sear the whole piece.
Across Costa Rica we usually drink tap water, so bottled water is not that common/cheap, just a convenience.
My wife love those berries, but yes, buy them in PriceSmart. No need to tell that all imported goods are expensive.

Thanks for the info and commenting, I appreciate it! I found out that blueberries are 100% imported, so that makes sense.
The cut of meat is great, it’s really tasty and I LOVE the ground beef! Where do you buy your meat?

Do you know if Costa Rica allows you to bring food over from canada? Packed in a cooler inside your suitcase?

    • @cape2costa
      @cape2costa  Рік тому

I don’t know for sure, but I don’t think it’s an issue if it’s checked baggage. I know people that take all sorts of food on board.
What are you thinking on bringing?

    Your move is inspiring
The last few years I have lived maskless and uninjected by the jab Trudeau is profiting from through accuitus pharmaceutical in bc
I thought I was going to have to be smuggled out of this dystopian nightmare Canada
I discovered permaculture food forests in 2020 and have dreamed of going to Costa Rica myself
Not quite ready for the jump
    Keep making videos
