- Antigua Guatemala, a colonial city with a rich cultural heritage, is a stunning destination that will leave you mesmerized. In this video, we'll take you on a journey to explore the city's hidden treasures and historic landmarks.
Starting with a fun flight from Tambor, Costa Rica into San Jose we get lost in multiple places with the help of a cabbie and also our own horrible navigational skills in the city of Antigua.
This place is a must-see! This is our second "visa run" and it was so much more fun that just a quick trip over the border and back.
Welcome to the Land of the Eternal Spring and you guys are welcome back since you were able to see the tip of the iceberg. I love Antigua; it is a foodie paradise, a place to connect to history and any tourist destination in the country. After all until 1821 it was the capital of all Central America. I been there many times and I leave more in love with it every time. If you are looking for adventure, nature beauty, culture, good beaches and friendly people. Guatemala got you guys

@@chrissysnowmusic799 it’s safe, guatemala gets a bad rep from the media . Of course you don’t go to places you should not be. Just like anywhere in the world. Take that trip, you would not regret it. So your research of places to visit. There are a lot of options. Enjoy
We lived in Antigua for 6 months and absolutely loved it. We're going back as soon as possible. It's been too long.

Now if you return to Guatemala and want to go to the Volcano they rent all the equiptment for you, just keep in mind that if you want to go and see better views are between November and April. For final, your Iphone sounds great I don't know if is my Alienware laptop but I had it you low the volume and the video was great. Have a safe trip back home hope you come back, there are so many places that you have to see if you want me I can send you turis places and you can check videos on youtube.

Good job with your video incliding the iphone part. I was born in Antigua but I was taken abroad as a child. Antigua was a very quiet small town before tourism. Now many residential homes in the center have been converted into hotels, cafes, boutiques, souveneer shops etc. Traffic is awful especially trucks and big buses. The original cobble stones on the streets were smooth squares now they are irregular and rough. It is good that you mentioned them because the sidewalks are also rough to navigate. Antigua is definitely not easy for people with mobility issues. Back then almost every house was painted white and just a few homes pale yellow and pink, now it's like a circus but the colors energize.
Despite all the changes I walk on clouds when I go there. Antigua is a feast for the senses. Next time you go there be sure to try Guatemalan food, visit the ever lava spewing Pacaya volcano (safer than Fuego Volcano) and either use Google maps or get a map since Antigua proper is about 9x9 blocks. The huge volcano you see from almost everywhere is Volcan de Agua which is non operational (I can't remember the technical term.) Is south of the city. People are super nice so asking for directions is easy.

I hope you and your family will return and visit so many other scenic, great places in Guatemala. Tikal, the craddle of the Mayan civilization is absolutely amazing. Did you know one of the scenes--an aereal scene of the first Star Wars movie was filmed there? Talking about volcanos, whenever you have the opportutinity, visit Santiago Atitlan, with its magnificent volcano crowning the lake Atitlan, and the twelve (12) little towns around it, each named after each of the twelve (12) apostles. Each town is totally unique with its unique customes, traditional outfits and handicrafts. Thank you for promoting the positive aspects Guatemala has to offer. !Bienvenidos y vuelvan pronto! If you ever come back, try to avoid rainy season (may to october).. January is the dryiest month, clearest views of the volcanoes, I think the best time of year for pictures.. December is nice too.
Also is a good month to hike a volcano.. Just beware, acatenango is a tough hike, very steep and very cold at night. Go prepared.

Next time visit CAYALA CITY, XELA, LAKE ATITLAN. GUATEMALA CITY IS SUPER AWESOME, GIVE IT A CHANCE YOU WILL BE MESMERized. There places like San Marcos department and Huehuetenango where it snows.

Ps if you get a chance go to Villa Bokeh, ask your Uber driver and he can take you. You need reservations to get in, they will let you in without it. It's so beautiful there.

@Cape2Costa next time check out Atitlan, it's one of the most beautiful lakes in the world surrounded by volcanos..once there commute by boat to all different towns. Each town is unique, panajachel is the main one..plenty of amazing hotels and rbnbs ..also check out Semuc Champey, it's north of guatemala city ..you can give us some great footage of yours..

Well here is my coment: I'm a little disappointed of you eating at those restaurants when Guatemala has one of the unique cuisines in the world, a high level local restaurants full of tradition and ancient food, that's pitty and you missed the opportunity to a great experience in food. Other wise is good there you like Antigua Guatemala but few days is no enough, maybe next time take a little longer and forget about fast food, just try the local cuisine, you'll never regret it!!! 😊😉🙂😎🌞🇬🇹🇬🇹🇬🇹🇬🇹🇬🇹
