oh.. I have visited 52 countries in Asia and Europe Turkey is the most beautiful country I have ever seen Also people are very nice and helpful. can't wait to go back ! love from Germany !
Hallo Emma!
I lived in Izmir from 1989-1992 while serving in the US Air Force, and loved it. Turkey is a beautiful country, rich in history. I would love to go back and visit. Keep up the good work. 😁👍
We remember that Disco with the Lazer Lights😀 Bodrum was one of the first places we visited in Turkey. It actually started our love of the Country. It has changed lots. Thank you for bringing back some lovely memories. Stay Safe and keep them coming Patricia 🏴🏴🏴
wow happy to hear you been to that dısco too ı was on holıday wıth brothers from South Afrıca and as my country was cut off from the world plus ı had very strıct parents the dısco was lıke ıs thıs even possıble on EARTH.best memorıes.
I was born and raised in Bodrum and now I continue to live here. it's very nice, it's also very honorable for such nice people to watch such a nice video and be informed💙
Hey Mick life is beautiful enjoy your life don’t hold back anything. I’m very happy that you are in my home town makes me happy to see you there. Take care be safe ❤
I have never been to bodrum, for people who do not know bodrum is a place which Turkish celebrities often choose and which is popular due to it's white houses.. Thanks for the new video❤️
Hi from a local and a 1988'er ! That's an excellent introduction to Bodrum Centre, and you couldn't have picked a betrer hotel than El Vino! Your timing was perfect, just after the last crane came down from the Castle restoration and while the Viking Sea cruuse ship was in (empty - just for crew change) and while the streets were quiet. Hope to see your next visit!
Hi Mick, than you for that video. I worked at the Halikarnas disco for 3 years from 1989 to 1991. I used to be a professional dancer and putting on various shows there was a great experience. We may have bumped into each other at some stage. Keep up the good work, I really enjoy your videos.
I am a Canadian \iraqi. the most interesting part of this journey is; that you talked about Zeki Muren, this person is a very important figure among all the notable people that you've mentioned, he is well-known not only in Turkey but in many other countries, in eastern Europe and the Arab world, even the united state due to his music style. one more thing to mention, that his death was a tragedy that saddened lots of people because he had a heart attack and died on live TV during the ceremony held for him at TRT İzmir Television,
I was in Bodrun on the day he collapsed on TV while I was watching. I was visiting Turkey for the first time and I like his singing now. People in the music shops told me he was the “Turkish Elvis.”
I spent most of my childhood, and teenage years in Bodrum. We used to go there every summer, and stayed for at least three months. Those were the days. I haven’t been there since 1992. From this video I can see it changed a lot, grew bigger. I watched another video about Bodrum before watching Uncle Mick’s video, and was so disappointed with the quality of it. Uncle Mick’s video is very beautiful and shows Bodrum objectively. Thank you Uncle Mick and Trudie
It’s wonderful to see you in all the resorts we are desperate to have a holiday in, but it’s also torture! I am reading that the virus numbers are coming down quickly now. Please Boris let us go to Turkey!
it might be good and fun for you guys but it was pain in the ass for locals like me nearby. I could hardly sleep at nights in summer thanks to such discos especially this. So not much was lost for me
Great video again, elinize sağlık. You asked about Zeki Müren’s love life. First of all, he is so precious for Turkish people. We call him ‘Sanat Güneşi / Sun of Art’ He had an unique voice and style. About his love life, he had a relationship with an army officer for 8 years. It was in the 60’s. This one is the most known and longest. Love is love. 🏳️🌈
Kolay gelsin selam sevgiler GOODBY💐🧿👏🏻👏🏻👍👍
actually i think you would get paid by the government in turkey some compensation for all the job and history that you tell you are a good man the only thing i can say and do to support you thank you my friend for all the work you do with the hope that we drink a cup of coffee a day in Fethiye
mick amca eline emeğine sağlık ege ve akdeniz dünyanın incisidir.. yaşanılacak ve gezilecek çok güzel yerlerdir kolay gelsin hayırlı işler mick amca bu güzel vlog için....
zeki muren is something i think maybe only turks will understand. Still, though you may not listen to him, thank you for showing your respects to such a legend of our culture.
Artık eskisi kadar video seyretmiyorum mick amca videoları hariç 1 saat olsa bile bakarım cunki bu ülkeyi cok güzel tanıtıyor teşekkürler mick amca....
I love bodrum before lock down we went every Yr to Turkey but bodrum is our favourite place Our neighbours go to ola deniz But I have never heard of that singer x
I went to Bodrum in 1987. I actually had my photo taken with Zeki Muren. He had his own table outside a cafe where he would sit every night and was quite an attraction with the locals. 😀
Thank you very much for this channel. One thing I needed to correct about Zeki Muren. At the past everybody knew his sexuality. There were some interviews that he says he is gay. (I know I read it while I was veryyoung) Also if you look at the costumes he wore you can realize he never hide anything about his sexuality. But he never give this information loudly.
excellent video..Bodrum is indeed a lovely town, I visited it once, about Z. Müren who had a beautiful voice, sang classical songs and millions of people loved his songs..he lived the way he enjoyed, we have no interest in talking baout his private life..he passed away, may his soul be in peace
Very interesting video, Mick. Lockdown or not, the "flavour" of the place is unsuppressable. What a fantastic history and culture - let's hope it is not all destroyed by mindless expansion in the name of tourism. Enjoy your summer! 🍉🏖
Good Evening once again to you both. Mt wife and I stayed in Gumbet for 2 weeks and absolutely loved it. We stayed there in the beginning of October and the people were fantastic to us as we were Muslims from Pakistani Heritage (though we live in England). We used to travel on the bus to Bodrum and the surrounding towns which were fantastic. It is one of our favourite holidays of all time. So thank you for the beautiful video, as we have been to all the places you mentioned.
Thanks for another beautiful and entertaining video. Been to Bodrum close to ten years ago and we all fell in love with this picturesque coastal city. Our only gripe at the time was the fact that we could not get good night sleeps because of the Disco Loud Music being played till the very early hours of the morning. When we questioned the Hotel Receptionist, his reply was “ Is This The First Time You Come To Bodrum ? “ This is a Party Town during summer.
Mick, when we watch you we are hypnotized beacuse,we love every moment of your comments, the way you explains things histories, people etc..unbelievably fascinating, when I say that people may thing I am exaggerating but you deserve more than a compliment,so again well done video once again🇨🇦🇨🇦🇹🇷🇹🇷👏👏👏👏👏👏
Mick, seni seviyorum yav. Bi ara bulusalim Fethiyede. Senin su yaptigini kimse senin kadar iyi yapamiyor. Seni tebrik ediyorum. Insallah Hello cafede falan denk geliriz. Chicago’dan selamlar.
I've just stumbled upon your video and I'm positively surprised by your remarks about Zeki Muren and your visit to his museum. Yes, he was and still is known by everyone in Turkey as the "sun of art" and respected a lot. Personally, I like to listen to his songs at a "çilingir sofra", drinking rakı and enjoying with my friends. Unfortunately the huge respect towards him comes from the society's huge denial of his sexual orientation. Of course, he wasn't open, but at the same time he was in many ways. I just wish to live in a world where people's sexual orientation or gender identity is no longer a matter of discussion, and a world that is less hypocrate (or not hypocrate at all) considering the hate crimes around us.
Merhaba, from USA, thanks for such an amazing video like always I enjoy all the amazing and beautiful places that you make us dream thru your descriptions. Kolay gelsen .
I just watched several of your videos in a row. Thank you for your work, your love for Turkey shines through every video. I am also russian speaker and every time i watch a russian video on places to visit they always find something to complain about, you and Trudie are rays of sunshine! you motivate to visit and explore every place you made a video about❣
Its nice to see that despite the rapid development of the region most of the old town and its buildings remain the same. The small El vino hotel is stunning! The hospital story is quite reflective of Turkeys recent infrastructure boom. Just a few decades ago small towns with up to 10,000 population didn't even have well-equipped hospitals or dentistry facilities. Nowadays theres probably too many new hospitals and clinics opening up.
oh.. I have visited 52 countries in Asia and Europe Turkey is the most beautiful country I have ever seen Also people are very nice and helpful. can't wait to go back ! love from Germany !

You folks deserve more recognition for your work.

Beautiful, have stayed in both Bitez and Gumbet. Bitez particularly nice, laid back but still plenty of restaurants, boat trips etc.
