I stayed for a couple of nights end of last century! I had always seen it from the bus back to dalaman airport and decided it looked nice. Hasn't it changed!
Wealth is not money, it is a fair income system. If millions of people in a country cannot even eat meat, having ultra-rich people in that country does not change anything.
@eternal8286 yes true 👍 but what l mean by wealth here is the abundance and variety of food Turkiye has to offer, in NZ we don't have that despite how rich people are here. We can't eat meat here everyday either so don't worry it's not just TŰRKIYE, we live in the middle of the Pacific ocean and we dont get fresh fish like Turkiye gets in the fish market.... our fish goes to China and Japan, we get the bayat frozen fish that's gone off for like $50 a kilo.
@KingstoneS318 So there must be a government that is mismanaging there too. For example, Türkiye is the world's largest hazelnut producer, but it sells hazelnuts to Italy for $1 and buys them back for $1,000 in processed form, how stupid isn't it? The sad thing is that you treat gold like bronze when you have it in your hand. Türkiye is a highly wealthy country but corruption is unbelievable
Four weeks ago we took a bus from our resort Camyuva to Fetihye for three days. We hoped to se you there, but didnt. One day we traveled early up to Göcek. We had a fantastic day, and want to go back. I am very interested in boats, and in your video we also see the same boat that I saw there. It is one of the world's largest mega-yachts, named M/y Solaris. It is 485 feet long, and has been there for over two years. Most people understand why.
First time I visited Göcek as a kid in the 80s it was a small and poor coastal village. It became famous after prime minister Turgut Özal spent his vacation there.
So, this happens to be the exclusive and luxury get-away spot in Turkey - another Saint-Tropez or Formentera, so to speak! I'd been able to watch Gökçek in a Turkish series titled "Bay Yanlış". By the way, Mrs Trude's wardrobe is getting overwhelmingly full...
@8:32 if it were understood by the "stricken" that plastic can be converted to petroleum... all the world would be rid of trash by the hands of free market economics ...elevation of consciousness is the key to splendor...
i just came back from fethiye. i was there for the whole month of oct. I was disappointed i did not not see u there on the blue side walk or cafe drinking tea.
I am a Turk born and raised in Germany but whenever I travel to a nice destination in Türkiye and walk in nature on off beaten paths I see trash in the nature like at 8:31 and that makes me very sad.
Do the underwater ruins at the beginning of the video have a name? Looks like some kind of ancient quay or wharf, maybe an ancient pirate cove like Kalabantia.
The place where Mick amca shows on 1:13 is actually named as "Kalimche Kalıntıları". I live in Göcek for the last 5 years and recently found out why sailors do not park here because of the sunken island.
Actually by law you can’t privatise any coast or beach. They all belong to public and everyone has the right to be on any of them. But obviously all the officials turn a blind eye to this as they are occupied by very powerful organisations.
According to the Turkish constitution, no one can define bays and beaches as private property. If you want to enter a beach that is claimed to belong to a super luxury hotel, you can enter for free. A police officer or a lawyer will suffice. All beaches in the country are constitutionally open to the public. Hotels do not enforce the law. Call your lawyer or the police.
I've got got back from a great week in Calis. I have to say I was disappointed by the amount of rubbish/litter left on the beach there. Why don't people take home or find a bin and not throw their rubbish in the beach?
Unfortunately, the Turks litter wherever they go. It's a lack of educational awareness. The Turkish government needs to make a campaign to stop this habit. I see Turks throw rubbish from their car windows or throw rubbish on the ground when a bin is just 10 meters from where they are standing. I've been living here for about 3 years now, and it's still quite shocking to see. Very sad. Türkiye is such a beautiful country.
Yes , same when I saw it unbelievable, cigarette filters alll over on the beach rubbish by the cost . Disgusting. I have no idea why Turkish people destroys their own country.
255tl for a beer is expensive in my book no matter the view and 560 for burger and chips what should be no more than 350 so beer isn’t free it’s getting crazy the prices but places like that are catering for the rich, wonder what would happen if the yachts stopped going
A normal size Double Quarter Pounder at a McDonald's costs 350TL, you get less fries, no beer, none of that view, none of the ambiance nor the service. If anything I expected it to cost a lot more.
@@ayseberry7494 My parents taught me to be kind and righteous, but that's an attitude and not cultural trait, just like corruption isn't. Article 43 is a constitutional right, i.e. if you get organised and take legal action, you'll most certainly win the case.
We stayed for 2 weeks at Rixos hotel in October 2021 They have a little private beach that you can reach by small taxi boat provided by the hotel We passed a huge yacht moored up every day when I returned home I was reading an article about Bill Gates travelling from Turkey to Glasgow by private plane to the COP 26 climate conference and pictures of him in Gocek The price of that hotel has doubled from 3 years ago (we got a great deal because it was the tail end of Covid restrictions) It was worth every penny though

The beach should be considered public property, not private.
It's kind of ironic a hotel having it's private beach when "all" the beaches in Turkey without exception belong to the people. Go and figure?!
There is nothing to figure out in a culture of corruption, plundering and looting.
