I'm so impressed with how dedicated you are to giving us the inside scoop on various aspects of tour. Thank you, Cory!
"And I'm using the ahhh errrm.... what in the F*CK is this!..... I forgot who made this sh*t" hahahaha Sonny T man! The greatest thing anyone has ever said in a rig rundown video x D It's like he's really trying to hold back and then all of a sudden his personality comes pouring out lol! Completely unprofessional, love it! I've watched it about 200 times and still crying : D
Cory’s gone full chaotic and I love it
I've never heard a better live audio experience than Cory, doesn't matter if it was in a small or large venue.
I’m so happy to hear horn players give a rundown on their gear. I also have a similar alto mouthpiece that’s over 20 years old that’s all funky and gunky but can’t part with it because it’s literally the best sounding mouthpiece I’ve ever had and has become an extension of my body when I play.
I've long admired [the weirder, I'm lookin at you, Sherik!!] horn players of all kinds, I think it's about time I gave that world of instruments a deeper dive.
These videos are making me so pumped for the UK leg of the tour! As a FOH engineer and overall gear nerd this video ticked allll the boxes.
This is the best rundown video ever! Thanks Cory! Also, Jay Webb with that sweet sweet Mangione lick to show the horn differences **chefs kiss**
Shout out to the BEST tour manager of all time. The real Cory. You're killing it. Cory, don't let Cory go. You guys figure it out.
Jay Webb talking about the flugelhorn, me immediately thinking about Chuck Mangione... Plays Feels So Good!!!
LOL
I think I speak for horn players everywhere when I say.... WHERE THE HELL IS MICHAEL'S DOUBLE BELL EUPHONIUM???
I love Michael Nelson’s Dirty Loops hoodie…
Never seen any of my heroes have as much fun as this band. Saw them in Des Moines February, 2022... Sound was incredible and they put a new definition on tight....
So cool that Cory goes so hard on guitar and also can talk the talk up and down the signal chain. Master of musicianship, master of communication and education too.
I really hope Larry and Jerry will make it to Europe! So hyped.
Killed it last night in Madison-- Most fun I've had in years, thanks so much. No earplugs needed, no ringing after the show. Small room meant the snare hits were intense but the whole sound was tweaked to perfection. This rundown is great, you guys are so professional and talented and sharing the whole process this way makes us fans feel connected. Your shows seem like the fantasy of every kid in the high school jazz band...😂
Definitely needed plugs in Pittsburgh. Drum was especially loud.
@@douglaseg1 This right here proves how subjective this is.
Michael Nelson, your horn arrangements are awesome. Cory, you and your Wongnotes are tighter than my pants after Christmas. Cannot WAIT to see you in Manchester next Month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All exclamation marks totally warranted.
I really appreciate this video. Would love to see more artists go this in depth with their demos, all the way to the mixer. Really well done
One of the best live shows I’ve ever been too! It was like a party on stage, loved every minute of it
So good. Love a good gear video, thanks crew. Sonny T what a classic that was brilliant. For a moment I thought a pedal was added to the board for jokes. But there you go Metal Zone strikes again.
23:51 TIL I live a secret double life modifying trombones 😅Loved the rundown!
Honestly, I wish more bands used clicks live... I've only played with one drummer that used click tracks in his headset and it was glorious - I've never player better than I played with that guy
Clicks are great for a reference but there is no better feeling as a drummer than locking into a groove with your band mates completely free from a metronome in your ear.
@@itseb4i really depends on the genre you play
Saw Cory in Berlin, one of the best funk concerts of my life.
So cool seeing all this detail - I love that you take all your own mics and gear everywhere you go. Killing it Cory!
They were absolutely fantastic last nite at the Vic Theater in Chicago. More energy, more power, more precise instrumentation, more fun than I've ever experienced at a concert. Cory is such a great player, arranger and coordinator of this band...6 piece horn section, power bass, power drums and percussion section, outstanding keys...plus guests Sierra Hull and Antwaun Stanley.. I was blown away....still coming down from this rock, jazz, funk extraordinary musical experience!
This was awesome. You are all awesome. Thank you.
GFI System Rossie is from Indonesia. Thanks for coming last night!
Awesome content Cory! Can’t wait to see you guys live!!
Just saw you guys in Des Moines last night! Got front row and it was insane! Larry and Jerry keepin it real
I was probably right next to you. Great show
I saw yall in Asheville last week and can honestly say that was one of the BEST shows I have been to in years. Literally could not stop dancing the whole time. Much love to you all for what you do!
That was BRILLIANT! Thanks Cory!
This is everything I wanted… NAY… everything I needed, and more… Love the inside rundown
Thanks for always putting on an excellent show. Your content is fantastic.
This is the best rig rundown I've ever seen !! So dope!! Greetings from Brazil! Please come do a tour down here!! 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
This is so cool!! Thanks for showing us everyone and their gear!
Obviously Larry and Jerry are making huge difference in Cory's tone. Kudos to those guys! :)
This was great! That chopped B3 is so cool!
This video was done so well. Really nice.
what a dope vlog! Thanks for all that!
Thanks again for the incredible insight on this vlog and sitting with the disc golf pros
I just listened to you guys in corona capital, it was one of the best shows I've experienced, loved it
Thank You Sire!!! Way coool! Best Regards and Best Wishes!
What a superb video. Thank you.
This rig rundown is sick!
That was a riot. Thanks for sharing life on the road.
I can't believe no one is commenting on a Wong Notes 2 album being announced in this video?!
I think we all just assumed it was coming and that there will be a 3, 4, etc. With every show being taped and other tapings happening on off days, it’s only a matter of time!
IIRC Cory and Mark Lettieri mentioned it in the Wong Notes podcast, as Mark should appear as a guest/featuring.
whole rundown is amazing thanks
Love this Cory , Thanks !
Great to see Kenni Holman! Have done a few gigs with him! Great guy, and World-Class musician!
This is the most entertaining and interesting tour vlog I've seen 👏💯
Thanks for this, this was great!
this was incredibly fun and informative to watch 🤙
Wow, everyone has such a cool and personalized setup. Impressive.
This is perfect, I needed to know all of this to enjoy the show tonight in Madison!!! Ha!
Wonderful stuff!
Awesome rundown
can't wait for Brescia Italy!!
I really enjoyed this .. proper musicians
Cant wait to see you in Utrecht!!!!1
That is awesome you guys are recording every night!
Cory, I thank you and the band for sharing the inner workings and the dedication that each person invests to create your one of a kind sound. I do have a question. Does the band have or utilize stage lighting not that it’s needed. Y’all r dope without lights!
Thank you!!
Not a gearhead but a big fan. I've been following your tour with Sierra Hull. Over the Mountain performance at Roxian Theater was absolutely sick sick! Sierra was crushing it as was the entire band.
You guys are f*ckin awesome!!! Loved your show in Portland it was by far one of the best live acts I've seen. Such incredibly high standard of musicianship. I also got to meet Petar briefly beforehand. Keep raging ✌
Ah man I can’t wait to see you guys live in Amsterdam!!
Well, I've heard the name and finally clicked, and now I am an instant fan! Carry on!
love you guys i so much fun.. just want to hang out with you all one time after the show 😎🙌
Jay Webb dropping some Mangione to show off the flugelhorn sound :)
pure class
sunny at 12:50, so good, thank you
For a while, I thought somebody just plugged in a Metal Zone as a prank
Hyped that I made it in the video for half a second, the show in Philly was sick!
Taking notes! You have this game on lock!
I've been curious about Kevin's "modified B3" since it was mentioned in one of the recent videos, and I'm glad to see it was explained here. And that's on top of all the other gear nerd details.
When will Sonny do a standup tour? It’s a calling he should pursue!
The click just makes sense. Rock on Petar!
Thanx for this !
Jay's brief Chuck Mangione nod on the trumpet vs. flugel demo! :D
I love this
Dude, this is so cool! Saw you in Des Moines last night and was really wondering about your gear and setups. Electric show, can't wait to see you at First Ave!
THE MANGIONE!!
GOOD STUFF!
thank you for this in depth look.... so inspiring, Cory&crew
Jay Webb - exotic - the Jeff Goldblum of trumpets
LOL hilarious!
Regarding the organ - well, if you let (or accidently) someone reach into the back of the thing while powered up, yeah sure they could fry themselves (tho I've got $50 the organ shrugs it off - those things are tough). There's plenty of line voltage bouncing around in there. If you're sure that won't happen, have at it, drop the panel.
BTW I was the only one who serviced my bands B3 for a decade or so in the 70's, so I kinda know whereof I speak. That thing bit me a couple times - always my fault. Also BTW - saw you guys in Phx a couple months back, Damn fine show!
Just saw the show a couple weeks ago and was wondering what some of the band members were using haha Thanks for the answers! Also, I loved the video you did with Jomez Pro!
Awesome! Killer show in Des Moines last night. So glad I got to catch a show on this tour. The entire band sounds fantastic.
I was there too. I thought the horns didn’t come through very well…what did you think?
@@WhiskerWhippers I was dead center and could here the horns fairly well. The only comment I had on the mix was Cory’s vocal mic seemed low for chatter between songs.
*hear 🤦♂️
Pretty cool to hear Cory shout out St Vincent.
A nice appetizer before tonight's show 😄
You know you're an addicted gearhead when you know nothing about mandolin and drums, but love hearing people talk about their setups.. and who buys a used reed??? wow. lol
You sounded great in STL this week!
Too cool...🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks for this great tour. I am a guitarplayer in a funk band myself. I just wish we could have a fraction of that professionalism. At the moment we should start by having regular rehearsals. It all sucks... especially with covid. And even more if you are at the most unhappy place were you are not professional in terms of not playing for earning money, but still need good musicians ...
Cory’s laugh gets me everytime🤣
Subbed. Amazing rig run down
Thanks for the vid on gear. Loved it! I was there for the TLA show and you all sounded great. I appreciate the work to adjust for venue acoustics. That's a HUGE factor in sound. Back in the day, I ran sound for some bands and had to use the Mk I earholes to do those adjustments! Ain't technology wonderful!
Oh. And nice haircut, Sam!
the fact that Petar plays Rocket League makes me love him even more :D
Lmfao I laughed when the trumpet player played feel so good to demo the trumpet vs flugel
wow you tuning the room before show , nice man !
So, put a perspex cover on the Hammond. Terrific gig gear rundown. Thank you so much.
Muso geek heaven. Bach 3C for the trumpet- hardcore
17:22 maybe a clear lucite/plexiglass back?
Not an organ tech here but musician DIYer
