- A visit to Sampheng, Bangkok, Thailand's oldest Street Market, just behind the streets of Chinatown, most tourists don't know about and is an absolute must. I walk the entirety of the market and do some shopping.

I heard one time that de Beers went out in the ocean and dumped a bunch of diamonds they're actually quite common but the marketplace is really jacked up

That guy selling diamonds was just trying to make a living. I had a friend who just goes to Thailand to buy silver, diamonds art, etc and got good deals!😊lol😄
I think looking at diamonds wasnt the best idea......keep on trucking.

Sampaeng market is actually the whole alley that you walked through. Think Google was just leading you to a sign at the piazza with the canal that reads Sampaeng Market.
Pity you didn't walk past the canal a bit more into Indiatown. Oh the food there ! And there's a row of gun shops too. Real guns with beefy guards outside. They don't like videocams and cameras there but I'm sure you'd find a way to get around that. 😊
