- I arrive in Pattaya, a destination many avoid in Thailand but don't. Arriving from Bangkok, I check in to my room at The Base, then head over to the beach and finally night walking on Walking Street. Stretching from Pattaya Beach Road to Bali Hai Plaza, Walking Street is the epicenter of Pattaya's notorious red-light district, with pubs, nightclubs and a lot of action.

The weather is milder this winter .No ice in Lake Ontario along the shores . Yes it does happen once in a while. EI Nino Keeping the north milder and wetter Most of the times. ❤

Been coming to Thailand and Pattaya for over 20 years i started young and i can say that walking street is good maybe your 1st or even your 2nd time after that you go every where elese from soi boi cow to jomtien and even north pattaya and all the crazy sois ( avenues ) that are on your way up beach road and 2nd road .. walking street after the pandemic got very expensive and not really a good place to go if your ar looking for company better to go anywhere else in pattaya if that is what you are looking for .L.A Rob

Hey let me ask you is it worth going to Pattaya for 1 or 2 nights? Travelling with my wife for her 60th and my brother and his wife. I’ve heard mixed reviews about it and can’t decide.

@@stewartpress8586 I think it just depends how much time you have. Given the choice I would go to Krabi over Pattaya. That said Im still glad I didnt skip it. Pattaya is also closer to Bangkok and easier to get to

Great content Terry! It was fun to watch. Very familiar with the Base and your steps in walking tour. You'll be crossing to other side of most streets to get away from "the working girls" in Pattaya. lol Walking Street is iconic, buts it not for the faint of heart. Pattaya...you either love it or hate it. I happen to love it! Not just Pattaya, but the whole Kingdom of Thailand. This will make my 12th trip back over from Florida. Keep the vlogs rolling buddy. I'll be there next week.

Great tour! I remember a little restaurant in west Pompano called Duck Soup. Never saw their menu, I just remember driving by numerous times. Onward and upward!

Woudl your recommend using an airbnb or a hotel? I am reading that perhaps doing an airbnb is not as safe as it sounds in terms of the owner's legality as well as the issues of not having a company to help you in the event that something goes wrong. Can you comment?
Great question. There are advantages and disadvantages to both. Overall I think the value is better in airbnb as you can get luxuries that would cost more or not available in many hotels. Plus rooms tend to be larger for the money in airbnb. But you are at the mercy of the host. I like the peace of mind knowing when I go to a hotel that the reception will always be there no matter what time or when I arrive. Also, things like towels, blankets, room service etc no problem usually at a hotel. I have split time between both and if you are going to spend time in more than one location, hotels upon arrival, then switch to airbnb after. That said I haven't had any issues with any of the airbnb's I booked. Safe travels!

You have such a personality for Asians to like. Been binging on your Thailand but the Vietnamese video first but not all yet, as it popped up on my feed since 3 days ago. Enjoying them all so much. Lived in Pattaya a year. Very sweet memory but also unfortunately my late Italian husband 1st hear artack was here in this town. So it was bitter sweet for me. Thanks again for your very enjoyable videos. In particular the food for me.

PS. From my apartment I could see the American Frigate docking but away from the beach and the whole Pattaya was filled with those guys just having the fun of their life.

Great question. If memory serves me correct 1,200 Baht or about $33 US, which is a pretty good deal.

Are the bugs worse in Thailand or Florida? Both are tropics so i guess similar?
Florida's sub tropics whereas Thailand is Tropics. My worst encounters with bugs were the mosquitos in Vietnam along the coast

It is hard to beat price/quality ratio in Thailand, you pension will go several folds compared to developed countries.
If you want to see little India, go to Walking Street. If you want to see little Russia, go to Jomtien. If you want to see little Britain, go to LK Metro and/or Tree Town.
When you mention the heat I just think about the fact, that you’re in Thailand in the cold/dry season right now. March-May are the hottest months and would unalive most people. Including me 😂🔥🔥
I was thinking the same thing. It got pretty close to 100 degrees here (37c). I can't imagine it being hotter and more humid lol and I'm from Florida
