Tredegar house is such a welcoming place with marvellous staff who really know their history! Many generations and years of change have altered the house, adding to the rich history.
Why was the red room called the red room? Mmm, did you guess?

Thank you for taking us along. My favourite places were the gardens. I’m pleased you were there Caroline to name the plants 🪴. Loved it. Lynda

The gardens were so beautiful!! Really enjoyed the history!!
That's great Joni 😎🐼🙂
As a Morgan descendant myself, (great grandmother was a Morgan of Tredegar) I always like seeing the family home at Tredegar and hearing family history.

I just happened to come by your lovely video of Tredegar House, I'm actually a house volunteer and I enjoyed your video! I agree with you about Godfrey, but he didn't like to be called Godfrey the Good, he just wanted to be remembered as a generous and giving man, he really was someone special! Thank you for showing our beautiful house and hope you come back and visit us soon! Jodie 😊
Boy that Manky sure did get around! Can I count his shadow?
He certainly did Dorothy, and yes the shadow counts 🐼🐼🐼🐼🐼🐼🐼🐼

Such great history and beautiful gardens in this video. I counted 9 times of seeing Manky, but wasn't able to watch the live to answer the quiz. Thank you so much for sharing such a magnificent place!
So glad you enjoyed this tour of Tredegar House Elizabeth... I believe Manky made 10 appearances in this video, but everyone missed one of them so 9 would have got you a podium place 🏅 Thanks for watching 🤠🐼🐼👩🦰
Greetings Phil and Caroline,
I'm very impressed by Caroline's knowledge of plants.
When I saw that chandelier it made me chuckle, it reminded me of the scene from only fools and horses.
Caroline does love here plants, ever since she read her grandmother's garden encyclopaedia when she was a girl... I remember that chandelier sketch... Brilliant 😄😂
What a fabulous opulant house. And I do love that these days we get to try on a costume or two on our way around. The kitchens are somehow always my favourite rooms in these grand old houses, (probably because I know my place.... below stairs!!). I love all those massive gadgets but what hard thankless work it must have been, keeping lords and ladies satisfied! And of course even below stairs there was a hierarchy. Oh those poor scullery maids! As for Henry Morgan... I suppose the least said of him the better as far as the family were concerned. Hooray for Godfrey Morgan. Sometimes the right person comes along at the right time. Godfrey the Good indeed!
Yes, it's great that we can touch things and try them on. Some of the kitchen tools were very large and must have been heavy to use! We were very impressed by Sir Godfrey, and it was an honour to share his story. 😎🐼🙂
Lovely gardens
They were lovely, we're so glad you enjoyed seeing them too 😎🐼🙂🐼
I so love the wood carvings on the house, a almost lost art! What a grand place! I wish I could walk among the halls looking at all the paintings and the Gardens! wonderful! I even saw some plants I have never seen before but will be looking them up for sure. I am surprised to see yucca plants there and a banana tree! Those Bachelor buttons are the largest I have ever seen! Amazing history of the family and what was built!
Glad you enjoyed it so much Debra... We were surprised to see the Banana tree!! 🤠🐼👦🐼👩🦰
Carol and Phil reminds me of Mr and Mrs Bouquet of the resident’s
What a beautiful house! Caroline, I drive my wife crazy with trying on hats lol.
It is a beautiful house, and must have been so impressive when it was built. 🏡 And as they say, "get a hat to get ahead" 👒🎩👒🎩👒 😄😂
Couldn't you just say there on the grounds for a week in a camper.
Park where you could wake up each morning to the splendor of the gardens . It would take a week to truly take it all in .
Enjoyed that very much Caroline , and Phil .Thank you .
Yes, you can Myrtha, there is a campsite in the grounds! 🤠🐼👦🐼👩🦰
Great video. Thank you so much. I do love the history and beautiful gardens that you share with us. ❤
Thank you so much for the encouraging comment 😎🐼🙂
So fun. I knew all about Sir Henry but Not the others. I love old houses of every shape and size. I do imagine myself in a Jane Austin novel . The gardens are beautiful. Amazing that Allium was gorgeous!💮💮
So glad we could introduce you to Sir Godfrey the Good, Laura and show you around the grand house and gardens. 😎🐼🙂
Missed it live but really enjoyed watching it later!😎
The magic of You Tube, being able to watch when it suits you... Thanks for watching 😎🐼🙂
I've been away from youtube a bit recently as I've been quite busy, but this video was great! I like old houses and kitchen gardens!
Glad you enjoyed the tour of Tredegar House Richard, hope life has been "Good Busy" for you. 🤠🐼👦🐼👩🦰
I’m late getting home. It’s cooler than the last week.
30-31degrees C
Still hot by welsh standards Dorothy, but glad to hear it's cooler for you. 🤠🐼👦🐼👩🦰
Awesome. loved it.
Sounds as if you liked it... That's great. thanks for watching 😎🐼🙂
Hope I make it
I used to work for a seed company and they sold banana seeds, they were quite large seeds in two varieties. Thanks great video xxx
Wow Marilyn, I've never seen a banana seed! Glad you liked the video 😎🐼🙂
I was thinking of Richard and Hyacinth Bouquet
We loved that show Paul, "Keeping up Appearances" 😄😂
Think Captain Morgan is known for his rum.
Yes, he's on the label of spiced rum worldwide these days 🤠🐼👦🐼👩🦰
Is any of that place lived in by anyone? Such a grand place, I bet there was a huge stafe in its' hayday.
No, it's just a museum these days 😎🐼🙂
You just had monkey inside your shirt pocket when you began your introduction
🐼 Well spotted Paul, 🐼he's all over the place 🐼 this week 🐼
Monkey seems to get to more places than I do the reason I don’t see much is because I can’t drive unfortunately and I don’t have anyone kind enough to invite me to travel to nice places with them
So sorry to hear that you can't get out and about Paul, we're so glad that you enjoy being with us on our travels through the magic of UA-cam 😎🐼🙂🐼
Please don't touch the curtains! or anything else.
rum not scotch

The presentation of the house is a mess.
