    I find videos like this 100 times more valuable than strategy videos. Hearing someone go over their mistakes and successes helps me paint a picture in my mind of how a successful trader thinks. Strategy will come to me over time as I get to grips with the charts. But knowledge like this is invaluable because it helps me avoid a lot of the pitfalls that you fell into on the way to reaching the level you're at today.

    I value all of the videos (yes, of course I have my favourites) but there are always some learning opportunities however small.
    I listen to you Nicholas as you have a much higher level of trading expertise (understatement - and it's a fact) and you draw from a deeper reservoir of trading experiences that helps shorten "my" learning curve, and fill in gaps for me.
    You have an open way of sharing your experiences that has a realness where I hear truths -
    I'm wary of only perfect stories.
    The image that just came was of Gladiator, in a way you are a trading gladiator, yes, with slip ups and scars but you have learned to spot relevant signs early, and you have many trading battles won.
    Whilst, I like to look at the markets at different times of day, I know the most consistent clear and focused time slot I have for charts, news catch up and looking for setups is early morning from 5 -9 am ish. The evening and weekends, for other aspects of learning and these videos.
    A question - is what we saw yesterday morning 31st August 17, London morning GBP/USD on 5 minute chart what you describe as Goldilocks type “Just Right” Market for Trading?
    + Thank you, this week I have learned - that patience can be sweet! :)

      I believe you are referring to the clean (Staircase) down move from .29210 - .28517 right ? That looked like a big order being filled by a dealer (myb a yard) probably institutional order flow or last minute positioning before the Non farms. But those clean moves are a very good setups as they usually have huge money behind them. i personally missed that move and i remember it because it really was the trade of the day (Thursday). So next time you see a range - move - ret back to range - move - range - ret back to range you fire.. :D

    This is a great video!
    After months of not really having a schedule for trading it slowly formed into something like this. Sunday evenings - Analyse the charts and look for anything of interest and look at any possible news that could affect the markets during the week. Mon-Thurs - Wake up 6am, breakfast/coffee, check the charts and journal. Enter any trades if there is an opportunity that shines out based on what I’ve learnt so far. (Otherwise leave it alone) 6:45 - begin the ride to work. 08:00-16:30 is spent in work with no internet connection or phone, 30 minute lunch outside up the road. (Managing trades if any are open, sometimes in the pouring rain haha). Ride home once work is finished. 17:30 - studying and learning to trade for averagely about 3 hours with small break for food and sanity check. =D - Sleep and repeat. Fridays 05:00 wake up, 13:30 finish. All afternoon and evening dedicated to trading.
    Weekends are usually free but like now I'm watching vids, looking at theory stuff and catching up on things. I wish I could commit full time to trading like I did with drumming many years ago! It will be possible but not just yet. Trades are usually open either a full day or over a couple of days. Sometimes caught some trades in the evening but time dialation makes it less frequent.
    (It is 58 miles a week on the bike.) I'll post a video of my ride to work next week haha!, it can be rather bad ass on the way down!
    Have a good weekend everyone!

    Maybe you can share some advice or your opinion. I currently work a full time job in the technology sector, and I am looking at trading as a means to escape having to work 10 hour a day so that I can focus more time on charity work and pursuing other interests. My goal is to earn a living from trading, and then use my trading returns to donate to charity, start other passive businesses (such as acquring rental properties and building a stock portfolio), and then using my free time to volunteer at non-profit organizations. Can trading support that lifestyle?

    Hi Nicholas! Just curious on your story and experience with brokers. I'm looking to start live, and I'm not totally sure where to start. I know you have a video on brokers, but maybe something more from your experience will help others. I know that you recomend that the broker to be FCA requlated, but I want a "1-1" video about this, with some examples if that is ok with you. I know you don't recomend brokers, but this is my biggest concern, in order not to get scammed like others are complaining online. Hope to be clarified on day on brokers and how to work with them. Especially the real ECN/STP brokers, which a lot of them are promoting they are, but online reviews proove other things that they are market makers. Hope we can learn more on this subject from you! I promise ... if the video is 2h long, I will watch it all :)).Cheers!

    • @PinkPrincessOnline
      @PinkPrincessOnline 7 років тому +1

      Most of us on the forum prefer MT5 and its strongly advised you use an ECN account (Otherwise you get manipultated data through dealing desks) There are only a few brokers which offer both of these, so as long as you stick to a big name, you cant really go wrong. Niki is unlikely to name any specific brokers as most people who are affiliated with them are paid by the broker to get you to deposit and trade with them, basically they want you to loose your money (conflict of interest), so that is something he is staying away from.

      Unfortunately it sounds like beginners luck. It’s possible to profit even if you don’t know what you’re doing, but if it’s not something consistent and sustainable then the chances are it’s just a winning streak within a losing approach. It’s the law of small numbers.

    Hey Nicholas I have now started full time agaib and my shifts rotate every week. So sometimes 9-5 sometimes 10-6 11-7 , 12-8 or 1-9pm. When i start late I was thinking about waking up early and trading for say 5 hours intraday?, when i start early i was thinking of doing evening trading (not sure how the dilation will effect me), do you think this could work?

    • @Duomoinitiative
      @Duomoinitiative  7 років тому +1

      I think that could work, especially while you are learning as you will get more exposure to situations that way. However eventually if you were trading live with a similar shift pattern it may be worth looking at larger time frames and then it doesn't matter when you fit in your trading time as long as you're able to focus well.

      You have many options, but it depends what you find is right for you, you are 'in hours' for the US session and the start of your trading also includes the European session. So any assets related to US or Europe, e.g. US stocks, FTSE, EUR/USD, GBP/USD etc.
