You did a really good job telling your story, and I felt such a connection to your story as I could relate to much of what you said (like the golden handcuffs and wanting to do something more in life). I also thought it was precious when you were teaching your daughter to be nice to everyone. Anyways, just wanted to drop a comment to say I'm rooting for you! Anton Daniels I’ve been watching your videos for a while now and you seem like a very intelligent person, so I’m sure you’ve thought long and hard about everything I’m about to say. I totally admire your decision to allocate your time towards your passions. I’m a CPA so of course my first comment is going to be related to money.....you’re a smart guy so hopefully you’re prepared with a contingency plan in case your passions aren’t bringing in money right away.....6 months of income is ideal. Honestly, sometimes I feel like entrepreneurship is overrated. But I also truly feel that entrepreneurs are born, and there’s no “job” or salary that can fulfill that innate desire. Life is meant to be lived....leaving your corporate job doesn’t mean you can never go back if you want/need to. Like you said....life isn’t about “things”, it’s about experiences. Leaving something stable and predictable for the “unknown” is super scary, but nothing worth having is gonna be easy. My situation is different because even tho I’m in my mid 30’s, I’m single with no kids yet. So leaving my Corporate six-figure career has less consequences (if it doesn’t work out for me) than it would for someone who has a spouse and kids depending on them. There’s never gonna be a perfect time to follow your dreams. It sounds like you’ve thought long and hard about this and have the full support of your wife, which is crucial. I have a feeling you’re making the right decision. I’m very excited to see where this journey takes you!!! 🙏🏾

    Much respect, Anton from a ex Michigander (Lansing).. You got this. Take a deep breath and dive in. Watched all your videos and get the sense your a true adrenalin junkie. Here's a idea for some content... How about a series of videos featuring ride alongs with Detroit Fire Dept? Those guys deserve much respect, doing so much with so little. They have the respect of other city fire departments around the country for the sheer volume of calls and the amount of fire they put out on any given day. Their equipment is wore out (although it's gotten better with Duggan) and the stories you would hear would blow your mind. You will find class acts throughout, and will eat some of the best food you've ever had. Try Engine 5 Ladder 27 Chief 2 Medic 5 at 18140 Joy Rd. is a popular station. Engine 50/ Ladder 23/Chief 9/Medics 15 and 24 at 12985 Houston Whittier St and Engine 40/ Ladder 17 /Squad 5 / Medic 10 are the 2 busiest stations which would be fun to check out. Engine 1 Downtown would be interesting..There's the Fireboat, all kinds of great content Heck, you might find you like it so much you might want to make it your new career, even though the pay is a joke. But like you said there's more to life than money..It isn't work if you love your gig. When you can't wait to go to work you know you're doing what you were meant to do.

    I'm happy that you took the step which you feel will make you internally and externally happier. There will always be other individuals such as family and loved ones, friends and society who will question and may even put you down for taking such a step, but it's about your personal happiness and contentment.
    No doubt, you may have to cut down on your costs and settle for less luxuries but again you did what you felt will make you happier and I respect you for that.
    I pray God opens the doors of more happiness and success for you. Ameen.

    Been at my company for 8 years and I feel like I can’t move forward anymore, life’s about stepping stones.
    My next stepping stone may be backwards but then it could allow me to jump onto a stepping stone that was out of reach if I stay in the same job.
    My corporate job I make 70/80k a year but it’s time to go self employed and see if I can do this shit on my own.
    This video is fantastic.

    Just subbed. In terms of whether you should go through with leaving or not (assuming that you could get your position back if you wanted it), I think that leaving corporate is about the right timing. I know that a lot of people will say that there will never be a "right" time and they are correct, but the time to leave is when you have developed yourself to the point in which you can make a living as an entrepreneur. I left my corporate job last August to start my own company. I just recently reentered the work force. I have no regrets at all. The main thing that I tell people is that building a business is like having two full time jobs so don't complicate the calculus by not having spent enough time developing your own skill set so that you can be successful. If you have already grinded and identified and developed all of the skills that you will need to be successful then leaving is the right move. If not, then depending on your savings it still may be the right move but it will be tougher. Either way, good luck. Definitely pulling for you.

      This is an awesome comment. I’m a serial entrepreneur and opening my restaurant was the hardest business I’ve ever done. I’m still not sure I want to continue running it. However, it’s important for me to always jump and never look back. I’ll always have a job waiting for me if needed. Thanks fam

    Excellent move I think! The time and resources that you put in to someone else's Corporation; you can put into building your own Empire. I you are a man of great vision, and perception. That little voice you hear...yep, its God. You will succeed because when you're faced with a life altering decision, God will back you as long as you're firm and don't waver on said decision. By staying focused and being decisive God will back you because you're showing you have faith in him, when you waver he won't back you, I like to called these times test of faith. You're on the right track God is with you stick to your decision and all will be good! You're blessed, trust me I know.

I offer this tidbit of wisdom to you, even though I have an inkling that you may have read this book, but it's named Think and Grow Rich: By Napoleon Hill, aside from the title its more of a positive reinforcement novel. Stay blessed, continued success.

    My man! Let me say this. Stumbled upon your channel and it was immediately compelling. Which is to say something about you. So curious to know about your family who raised you. And you are one of the rare personalities who have that otherness, et. al. Have interpersonal relationships come naturally easy to you? Have you ever failed at something you really wanted to succeed at? What has replaced the " love of action " you wisely stepped away from @ the gaming tables. Finally, I suspect your corporate job position had much to do with your abilities to communicate and develop relationships. Nice family too, the love is palpable. Even from across the screen.

    • @AntonDaniels
      @AntonDaniels  5 років тому +1

      Wow, you’re dead on with my corporate position. 75% was building the right relationships. I appreciate your ability to observe and catch certain traits.
      And yes, I’ve failed a lot (and still failing). I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s all a matter of perspective because all of my failures have led to massive successes. Thanks for the feedback, love, and insight my friend. Please, keep in touch.

Now you have to depend on your vendor, your staff, your customer, etc to do their part in order for it to work. No more health benefits, no more retirement plan, no more free meal. Good luck.. you gonna have BILLS dawg.... dont get me started on your family's health insurance cost

    I’ve been rocking wit dese videos I like watching realistic positive shit. I hate those fake “woke” condescending motivational videos you got a down to earth perspective on everything. I think people should strive to become self-employed if they feel their career is not their passion. However, the disconnect people thinks that self-employed means you don’t have to work hard. I think you should build stability then work for yourself

    I work a 6 figure job in IT sales at a well known company....and I’m miserable. It’s such a pointless job, I feel like a useless drone with no direction in life. Single, no responsibilities outside of my dog, few friends, and I only spend money on rent and food. I have a big savings account and want to quit so badly to experience something new, but with Covid idk what to do. Should I quit? I have to give a presentation to management tomorrow on how I plan on hitting my quota and I legit could not care less about it. I’m so tempted to quit and walk away. Need help....

    • @AntonDaniels
      @AntonDaniels  4 роки тому +3

      Don’t quit. It won’t change your perspective on life. You need a new mindset. Start going out more, meet some new inspirational friends, and get new hobbies outside of work. It has nothing to do with what you do to make money and everything to do with your mindset. What would be your transition plan? Do you work out regularly? And download the meetup app for ideas of getting out of your comfort zone. Join a new church. Quitting your job (especially during COVID) won’t change your mindset. Get a mentor and work toward moving up in your job.
