I'm sure you've heard this before from others, but as someone on the spectrum I use your videos and Barbie's videos to help motivate me to clean my own place. While I don't suffer with hoarding, I struggle to find the motivation to clean weekly on my own. Cleaning "with" y'all helps me knock out weekend tasks because it feels like I'm not alone in my cleaning endeavors. I find I'm less agitated by the tasks at hand too. Thank you!

You and Jason are really helping combat my depression and grief. I make a work list for each day with one major task in it. If I do it, I've achieved something. If I don't, I still have made progress in the day some how with other smaller tasks. I lost my father 18 years ago to cancer and it took me years to give away his suit. The last time he wore it was to my wedding. The guy I gave it to, looked so much better in it then my Dad ever did. It was such a healing moment. We lost my little brother as well in an accident. The grief has been such a journey. Thank you for helping so many with your channel. Spin kicks from South Africa.

Sounds weird I know, but it is my "me" time and that is how I recharge my batteries. I have an amazing hubby who totally gets who I am and we've been married 24 years now and together 29 years. Hubby, the kids and our grandchild are really good reasons for trying to keep going. It's also important to me to thank people when they make a positive impact on your life, hence the compliment to MMC.

Aw so sorry. I lost my mother about 15 years ago now. Im in process of remaking some of my mothers clothing into memory items for siblings, kids etc. My younger sister had them about 10 years and I had them 5 years. This last winter here in high desert totally long and more rain than 100 years! So dragged it all out and planned what to do. My mother had downsized and moved in with my younger sister so that wasnt too bad. I learned my lessons not to hoard because of moving a hoarder sister about 5 times and have already given most things my kids would get to them already.

I had some emotional attachments and have been donating and trashing in layers the attachments I had developed over the last couple of months. I laughed because in a couple of your other videos I binge watched today, I reminded myself to get rid of some purses, clothes and shoes of my own. This house is beautiful! Love all the wood. Btw - Liquid Gold will also take fingerprints off stainless steel. I had a cleaning contract for 2 large buildings, and used Liquid Gold to shine up water fountains, refrigerators, ice machines, etc. I used 1/3 alcohol to 2/3 water as a glass cleaner too. Works so much better than Windex. Love your channel!! ❤️

Thanks to watching videos like yours, I’ve come to realize that I actually did grow up in a hoarding and compulsive spending environment. This continued even into adulthood, because my mother always moved where I did (emotional and narcissistic abuse/enmeshment from her, with me being neurodivergent and ADHD, etc.) My uncle and aunt are the same as her, so it’s almost a familial trait at this point. Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you. I never knew how to get rid of anything or that it was okay to do so until I happened upon cleaning videos on UA-cam. It sounds ridiculous, but it’s the truth. If Mom wanted a new comforter, she’d buy a new one and pack up the old set in a space bag and plastic tote. Same with clothes or anything else. Nothing was ever sold or donated, with her saying that she’d rather let it rot than give it away for nothing.
Now I turn on these videos and listen to them while cleaning and decluttering, and they are slowly starting to reset my inner dialogue to a kinder and more functional voice. I’m actually biting back tears while writing this. These videos have been wonderful for teaching me actual home care skills, because I have actual trauma from childhood related to getting in trouble for not cleaning or taking care of things “correctly” when I was never taught how and was too small to pick up and move some things I was expected to.
I know I’m rambling at this point, so I’ll stop, but I just wanted to say this again: thank you. These have literally changed my life.

I’m so glad you’ve been able to recognize that the people who raised you were very bad at the job. So many children of narcissists go on to blame themselves, lifelong. You’re putting the blame where it rightfully belongs (on your narcissist relatives) and learning how you can have a good life with lots of healthy love

I'm so sorry; you've been through a lot. And you've been able to make the life you want.
Deciding what to move out of your home and what to keep isn't ridiculous at all, it's real life for many people. I used to keep more than I actually wanted to, but thought I "should". I was feeling bogged down by "stuff" and started getting rid of things. It feels quite good.
You know you aren't at fault for how you were raised, and know where blame rests but you aren't hateful. That takes a kind, and thoughtful person.
I believe Mr. Changes-his-name-in-every-video is a very kind man, too. If he read your post he would be very pleased for you.

WOW, Chuck. The mansion is huge!!!! Although the residency is outdated because it was constructed in the 80s, it's a lovely palatial homestead surrounded by spacious landscapes from a distance. Goodness. I've never seen so much wood decor inside a place like this. I'm so grateful the property isn't littered and infested with trash and insects, which would make the job tremendously harder for you to undertake due to the massive size of the place. Thankfully, it needs to be heavily spot cleaned using your favorite Mr. Clean spray cleaner. It's a big job, of course, but imagine if the rooms were plagued with tons of useless bulks of trash. WHOA!!!! I'm also grateful your filthy son is there with you in helping out with the exfoliation. Fulfilling this order was a big tackle for you to undertake. But it's a gratifying feeling the job finally was complete, leaving behind a hygienic and orderly mansion for the happy owner, who appreciates the time and effort you'd done with his habitat.

One suggestion for cleaning windows. I’ve gotten into the habit of scrubbing side to side on the inside and horizontally on the outside. Makes finding streaks easier for me.
Secondly, I use a swiffer sweeper, not for floors but for cleaning walls, huge mirrors and windows. I cover the sweeper with microfiber towels or rags instead of using the swiffer wet or dry pads.
