Something these youngsters will never understand or grasp is the fact Jordan didn't only Influence his teamates to be better but he Influenced the entire sports world to be better. To the new generation they will think this is crazy talk but it's actually true and you'll never get it unless you lived through it. Absolutely! But I think MJ would like Ja as he's kinda like from the same mold, not that he's MJ level, but the mentality. Even after retirement, in his 40s, MJ still taught some of the young ones a lesson, guys like OJ Mayo, Corey Benjamin, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, to name a few.

I’ve just never seen an athlete that could up their game like that almost every time when opponents, coaches, media, fans, etc said something negative about him. It was almost movie-like. This is the one aspect of MJ’s game that’s not really focused on like it should be-it’s actually one of the main reasons that sets him apart from all athletes no matter the sport.

To tap into that zone can't always be done consciously. Jordan realised that so at times he would find reasons to activate that next level. Sometimes he even made up stories. Jordan always performed at his absolute best when he felt he had something to prove

Cable here in NC had WGN. Not a night went by without me checking to see if the Bulls were playing. People watched their games just to see if MJ did something that would make your jaw drop. He rarely failed to disappoint.
You just don't have that today. There's not that one guy where everyone talks at work the next day about, saying "Did you see what XX did last night? Damn"
You have one here and there, but not the same guy, over and over and over.
MJ is the GOAT, without a doubt.
You could make a case for a couple of others based on their career, but nobody ever had even CLOSE to the impact not only on the court, but on fans and the world in general as Michael Jordan.

Nick, I’m a Bulls and MJ fan 1st for all time, but I live near near Indy and rooted for the Pacers, but not like I did for the Bulls.
After MJ retried in 98’ Reggie would have a couple more runs, and make the Finals in 2000. Somewhere along that time Miller’s house in Indiana was burnt to the ground, and he lost everything in it. Reggie collected all things NBA, including a LOT of Michael Jordan memorabilia which I heard at the time was irreplaceable it was so extensive, and Reggie being who he is really never told anyone about what he lost, except a couple people.
The GOAT heard this, and it’s said that almost every item that could be replaced was sent to Reggie by the man himself.

I played a lot of basketball over thirty years or so, and the biggest compliment I ever got was hearing one opponent say to a new teammate about me as he was talking a bunch of trash to me "Don't make him mad - he plays better when it's personal!" I went to UNC in the 90's and lived in Chapel Hill for 20+ years and MJ sightings were a regular occurrence, back then he had a custom Hummer he'd drive around. He wasn't like going out of his way to meet fans but, as a local resident, all the stories you'd hear about his interactions with locals were nothing but positive. He also was who brought Buffalo Wild Wings to Chapel Hill (primary investor), in the mid-90's, long before it became a national phenomenon

Magic lacked the speed and dunking of a modern version of himself like a Giannis or Ben Simmons. But his overall skill with his limitations were higher than anyone else I can think of. Magic can glide to the hoop and finish like Ice Man. He can sky hook like Kareem. Literally poetry in motion.

Some of these players left school early and skated by on athletics, but a lot of these athletes were really smart. Great editing!! A thought concept I keep going to is if the Blazers would have drafted him instead… Clyde Drexler + Michael Jordan. I don’t think there would have been a better pairing of players, especially at the psych level. By all accounts Drexler was a stand up decent guy, no drama, bar fights-probably went to church. He had an inch or two on MJ, but otherwise nearly equal in athleticism. The work ethic they would have instilled, the two captains showing up at 110 every single day (vs what became the JailBlazers). The fame blew MJ’s life into pieces, but I could see Clyde being a real friend, mentor, slightly bigger brother. Their parents would be friends. They would have slayed the league for decades solid. Because Clyde was a great defender, passer-and got above the rim too. MJ would have been propelled even higher with Clyde at his side. Instead of a fierceness that defined how Michael even had against teammates, a bond of respect, ethics would be built between them. The sleepy northwest city of Portland would have blown up - year after year of hosting NBA Finals… and right in Nike’s front yard.
Ultimately landing in Chicago with a national cable broadcast wound up cementing history. But damn WHAT IF…

Amazing thing when you look at this:
Is Mike hasn't played professional ball in over 20 plus years yet people tell stories and are excited to tell the stories the people and laugh and speaks so highly.
That's what goat status is it's out of respect and still many of the ex-player's are in awe when they talk about what he did
How about all those great bron stories you hear from other players.... Oh wait you don't unless he's telling them himself like when he side the proclaim himself the goat without a vote 🤣🤣

Did not shoot well for very long. They should have called Reggie Miller the Rifleman in hindsight. Chuck had only a career average of 36.2 from 3s. Reggie career stats were 39.5 from 3s.

Michael Jordan in today's NBA would be the highest paid player, the best player in the game. The Bulls would have paid him more than what Stephen Curry is getting. He would be around 50 to 70 million dollars per year. Every game would be sold out regardless of the location.

Jordan would've been a megastar in any era. He just had it, it's hard to explain what it is but some people just have an aura about them

Not just basketball but life in general. Youngster absolutely do not have any respect for older guys with far more life experience. Holds true for almost any thing
