Great job JSU, always nice to see the band put a on good show. I like the fact that the J-Settes focus on dancing and not just throwing a bunch of stunts together and calling it a routine. The whole band had high energy and precision.

JSU was Very entertaining...best fluid show of the day...kept the interest...best drum majors and dance line to take the field this afternoon, they kept it live until the end. Then the last song "kilt" it. Crowd was very pleased. BCC sounds awesome as well...just needs a little more energy and good hype person....but they were the best two bands of the afternoon.

A history lesson from JSU good show
I did not attend an HBCU, I have a son who is a freshman@ Florida A&M, but you can't tell me the dancing dolls was not the best dance line out there, go look @ their routine. Mrs. D got them young girls ready for this type of atmosphere when they get in college, I am neutral and seen the whole battle of the bands. Just my opinion. Everyone did good though, no hate. Ohio born & bred chiming in.
+eaglemanfromco the dancing dolls did well but they are a bit wild. I can understand because they are still in high school. Jsettes were beyond clean and this was a very difficult routine. Its all about form and creativity

dang jsettes looked better than they did all season, and the band sound great, I was actually impressed this time. Baritones should learn how to blend a little more, and have control, but overall excellent show !! I guess coming to the big A made them step their game up because I was not impressed with them this marching season, but this show made me eat a few of my words I must admit.

The band did great , the j settes kinda disappointed me a little! In the beginning of their routine one of the girls was swinging her arms while marching while the others were doing something different the formations looked kinda of sloppy at one point and the routine was too simple but I still loved the tradition aspect of the show!

Why is it that everyone is using the "Human Jukebox" slogan "Often Imitated, Never Duplicated" first South Carolina State now JSU. As a alumni member of the "Human Jukebox" I guess other bands can't be as original as SU! The "kick on eight", the cape, the "whip turn" and the "shako ploom" all SU originals!!!!! R.I.P Dr. Isaac Greggs and Mr. Chester J. White.
...and they're playing music and marching...just like SU...yeah, right.

I just don't think a band can claim "often imitated, never duplicated" as original. My high school band used to say that...just like "baddest band in the land"...a bit generic, if anything.
+I. Lanier Avant As a former member of "The Human Jukebox" 1981-1985. The first time I heard it used for the band was in 1975. Both of my parents graduated from SU and all HBCU bands have a nickname and slogan that they call their own. Most high school bands where I am from( College Park, Ga) and Atlanta adopt a HBCU bands nickname and style, but I feel that everyone who watches HBCU bands know that phrase has always been a "Jukebox" thing. Like The 20th Century Fox theme is about the FAMU 100 and "Get Ready" is about JSU.

Last season, we cribbed FAMU's "Say La La" for the whole season. now, if we step on "often imitated..." forore than just the BOOMBox classic, I'll call a flag on that. We good.

OMG............had to watch this again, why??? After reading some of the comments, I really wanted to see if I was missing something here. The answer is definitely "NO, I WASN'T". But I did some up in quickly though............that every comment about "JS-WHO" and how great they were............had to have come from, all their band members, family and friends, because I didn't see anything that made this show.............TO BE ALL THAT GREAT, EXCEPT THE EXIT..............AS THE CROWD, CHEERED AND SCREAM, FOR BCU, TO TAKE THE FIELD. I mean Prairie View, field show was better than this. And their girls dance, was WAY BETTER THAN those JSETTES.............y'all raving about, throughout the comments. The band had much sound, but I'm sure.............they opt to use the mics, as always............JS-WHO FANS............GTFOH, with that BULLSHIT!!!

Had rewatch the J Settes again to see what everyone was talking about their were good but I've seen them wayyyy better than this Sorry I'm not a Biased Fan. They were a little boring but clean & put together.

Never gonna happen. JSU is a traditional show style marching band. They do not intend to deviate from what they've done for decades just to be like BCU, a much less interesting program. Plus, BCU should learn how to put some real air in their horns before they talk about anybody losing sound....

Amil Now First of all you dumb ass it is not a competition, The Honda Battle of the Bands is a Invitational Showcase. they don't ever announce a winner I marched in 2 of them.. If it was a competition they wouldn't be giving each individual school grant money to their band programs, it would be a 1st, 2nd, 3rd place winner where only 1 band would get all the money not all.. Show me where on Honda website it say's JSU was the winner... I'll wait?? JSU got invited like a month ago they was like one of the last 8 bands to make it in.. GTFOH..
