Private house project on gabion technology in Poland.

The house is set on a large hollow plot. It is surrounded by forests and breathtaking views. The concept of the house is based on the idea of use of indigenous raw materials and in this way to make the house a part of the surrounding landscape.
Several materials were used to decorate the exterior of the house. The main part of the house is trimmed with gabions. The gabions in the walls are used only as an external decoration. To a certain extent, it is a camouflage, which allows the house to harmonize with the scenery.
The cubical extension as sleeping area, the triangular section of the house and one of the walls of the garage are trimmed with wood slats. Metal is also used in the decoration of the house. Roofing is standing seam metal. The dark gray color of the roof perfectly matches the gabions and slats in the decoration of the facades.
The house includes two sections - the living area and the two-car garage. A plank roof connects these two different sections, casting light into the small shed between them.
If we talk about the planning solution it is a two-storey house with a double height living room. The area of the house is 215 m2. On the first floor in the residential part there is an hallway, a large kitchen-living room combo with a utility room and a toilet. And private part with a bedroom, bathroom and closet. On the second floor there are two bedrooms and a small bathroom.

the building design is amazing and the use of gabion wall at the exterior is really an extraordinary idea!! I'm an architect myself. Seeing your design I'm inspired to attempt a similar technique in my upcoming project. But as it is a new technique for me can you please assist me with the door frame join detail in the gabion walls? Like how it is joined in the gabion wall or which material and elements are used to join the frame?
