Excellent video, I have been a very average putter for several years and have played mostly blade putters but a few months ago I tested a few mallet putters and the Cleveland Frontline Cero (2021 version) really suited my putting stroke and my putting stats have improved exponentially with this putter and I am now averaging 4 putts per round less than before.

I love my Scotty Special Select Squareback 2. It came down to the Squareback 2, Del mar, and the Evnroll ER2. I loved all 3, but I decided on the Squareback 2. My putting has never been better. As long as you are fit for the correct length and hosel for your stroke, go with the putter that gives you the most confidence.

Yeah I was wondering if I should get the Odyssey Eleven or LAB DF or Mezz. Don’t care about looks, only performance and forgiveness.

Agreed. I have one and it is the best I have used...allow it to do what a putter is designed to do...no face manipulation.

Directed Force...AKA cow branding iron of an alien space ship. Tried the Mezz but didn't like the feel on off center strikes. With the DF it doesn't seem like there is an off center.

Great review. I didn’t see any mention of the phantom X model in MOI section.

It’s all about what you like looking down at as far as size and toe hang. I prefer a milled putter, it seems the most consistent in gauging distance.

If tech was so important why do the manufacturers only offer best sellers in lefty.....and PGA tour players still miss 3 footers.....
    All about the $$$$
I use a Seemore in black (can pick the ball up without bending) and a skinny rubber grip (durable and easy in and out of bag) so practical and the rest is down to my green reading skills..or not...

Wish more companies would adopt a multimaterial shaft like the Odyssey Stroke Lab, it feels awesome for head weight and face control and makes their putters feel like really good value. I won an Newport 2 and have been enjoying it but wish it had a more premium shaft, the headcover being velcro is a pain, and the standard pistol grip makes it very easy to turn the hands over during a stroke which I'm not a big fan of. Picked up a Super stroke 2.0 to change in, but it's hard to replicate how good of an experience I've had with the Odyssey Double wides.

Nice input, thanks Steel. KBS are now making a graphite putter shaft which we will be looking at soon, and PXG make the cracking M16 steel and graphite model too.
It is though hard to prove in data how much they improve consistency metrics.

LAB Mezz putter would be on my list, but it’s very pricey. I think there’s something to lie angle balanced putters but the original LAB looked horrendous. The best feature of the Cobra putters for me isn’t the 3D printing, but the descending loft technology face. And of course, Sik putters also have this. But for value, the Cobra options win over the Sik for me. The new Wilson Staff putters also look tasty this year (not cheap like the Infinite range)

    • @todaysgolfer
      @todaysgolfer  Рік тому

The Cobra are very good value for money.
Like you say the Wilson Staff Model are lovely looking putters, but they're very costly for what they are.

It's such a tough one. Putting especially can sometimes come down to using a putter you love.
Our thinking would be over time to get a putter that suits your stroke and is fitted for you. Then as and when resources allow look at a putter you love, so over time you can compare the two on the golf course.
      Not sure if that helps?

11:48 The Tyne G doesn't make any sense and isn't a Fetch replacement because it does NOT fit in the cup to retrieve your ball. You might as well use a classic Tyne.
