Mina lobata, also known as Spanish Flag, is a beautiful annual vine. It needs a little tender care to get it going - sow seeds indoors, grow them on and keep them well watered when they're transplanted. However, in July/Aug/September, the flowers are well worth the wait as they cascade over trellising, pergolas and fences. A great exotic looking plant for any garden.

Thanks for stopping by the Brimwood Farm channel. We're a teeny urban smallholding trying to grow, garden and keep livestock on a tiny residential garden. Can you be self-sufficient and make money from an urban homestead? We're on a mission to find out.

It's the more flamboyant of the morning glories.
The blue, red, this one and the sweet potato are my favourites.

Love it! Do you think it would cope with our terribly windy site?

They've held up pretty well today with the wind here. Give it a go and see what happens!

How many seeds do I plant in one hole?

Wow! That one looked so good! I started mine in the beginning of summer and they just shot up and looked great. Then I made the mistake of using fertilizer and now they are nearly naked. I just don’t know how to save them. I may have to start over😊

Hey Shannon, they are annuals if you're in a temperate zone so it might be just that they've come to the end of the run and you'll need to try again next year :)
