wow i need to learn more about the advantages of t3 stickboxes. i know they are like guaranteed with jp whites and the controllers that were made for smash 4 and ult, but i dont know what all makes them better
thanks so much dude. went camping and stick was loose. turned out that my stickbox broke. phew, thought i had to save up for a new controller just to get a stick. thanks again dude edit: i used a smash ultimate gamecube stickbox i had lying around (which are obviously t3). thanks again dude!
turns out my c-stick was broken (it didnt register horizontal inputs but did for vertical inputs)...I tried the method in this video (since I dont have soldering tools rn) to exchange the cstick stickbox for another one of one other controller I had. But it turned out the cstick is still not working well (same problem as before), which led me to think that the horizontal potentiometer of the cstick is actually the problem and not the stickbox itself....do you know if theres a way to fix or do something about the potentiometer to make it work?
if you don't want to open up your controllers to determine if they have a t3 or not, there's a parts guide that lists the signs for a t3 stickbox linked in my "replace stickbox and add a snapback capacitor" video description
Stick and c stick boxes are interchangeable? Ive had a problem with my stick drifting left for a while now. If that drift was on my c stick i wouldnt care at all (oot emulator so its not even bound). With a jp white smash4 controller, that should be a reasonable swap?
drift is probably potentiometers. doubt that would fix anything here unless your stickbox is like, extremely extremely loose. you'll need soldering tools for a pot replacement as a heads up
@@Savestate But i could do the same thing with the potentionmeters probably, right? I've also got a spare nunchuck controller. Would that work? The potentiometers are the same across all stickboxes, right? thanks
did u try the other reset method to unplugging replugging while not touching the sticks? its y x a start held for 3 seconds in SSBMelee. the whole point it calibrating the control sticks
and im guessing this doesnt work for T1? I accidentally just ordered one and im really sad because i dont want to spend any more money. hoping the seller agrees to cancel the order
this was a big help. i had my soldering iron hot w/ my flux ready to go before i found this vid. thanks!
Majority of controllers that I have, it has stickboxes T1 or T2 :(
T3 sticks are ideal for competitive IMO!

It's likely the potentiometer works fine and the issue is a corroded feedthrough
thanks guy
no prob 59sdrawkcaBemaNyM
I have an old xbox one controller, can I use its stickbox to my old gamecube controller whose stickbox has long gone ?
unfortunately no, it is not comparable

Can i use Hall effect stick boxes with a game cube controller

@@Savestateoki thnx for the advice
your a fucking legend
I’m not comfortable and think I might break the potentiometer. Am I being a wimp?
@@charlzthedrummer it’ll pivot away, you’ll be fineeeee

correct, you need soldering tools for a t1
soldering kit is maybe 30 USD on amazon. Definitely worth it for more than GCC!
Does this work for all t3 stickboxes?
yes
yoo hi there bud can i use a different stickbox for differents motherboards?
t1/t2 only for t1/t2 and t3 only for t3
What screwdriver did you use
all gamecube controllers use triwing for the case and a snap phillips heads for the stickbox.
wow unlimited controller
Would this work on a GameCube controller?
as long as it's a T3 stickbox, yes. the controller shown in this video is a gamecube controller
@@Savestate alright, I'll have to check then. I got a used controller so the stick isn't in the best condition.
@@Savestatechecked and it's t1 or t2, so I'll have to check your other video.
@@Bryce_the_Woomy_Boi good luck and good skill !!
@@Savestate thanks. I'll let you know how it goes.
What’s a T3 exactly?
latest iteration of stickboxes. check the controller library website for more information on them
