- Janis Joplin singing Maybe.
Now children before there was Celine Dion, and Britney etc there was Janis. Now granted you may not have wanted to take her home to meet your Mum (unless your Mum was Amy Winehouse of course) but Janis could belt out a song and could drink most men under the table.
My kinda gal!
Janis Joplin has been to this day the greatest woman rock performer. No one has equalled her voice, interpretation and technique. She is and will ever be irreplaceable.
Может had been? Её же нет в живых? А так я согласна, оркестр тоже хорош.
@@ЛиляЕсаяня думаю правило "Цой жив" действует и здесь😊

The Pearl always shines. Rest in peace and Power Janis Joplin (1943-1970)
The lady is a legend

Você é ímpar ❤.
No one on their phones. Everyone paying attention in awe
But there was no such thing as cell phones back then?
Welcome to planet red
If we too had a chance to see Janice, no one would be with any phone
In 50 Years No one’s Ever come close to Janis!💖💖🦋🦋
I saw Janis at the Cleveland Auditorium. When she sang "Ball & Chain" it almost brought me to tears. She seemed so fragile, but tough, as if she'd be fine if she could find the right man (or woman). I had to see her after the show. It was a foggy, rainy night and I waited about 2 hours at the back door of the place, everybody else had gone, and then she came out, by herself. She was wearing a feather boa and a fur coat. I just told her how much I loved her and was happy for her. She said, "Well thank you darlin'. I'm glad you liked it." She gave me a hug and gave me the boa (which I still have 50 years later) and asked me if there was a bar opened around there. I told her the way to go and she walked away in the fog. Wow, what an experience that was. I would have gone with her but I had to be at work at 8 am.
John Allen wow!!! That’s a great story!!! Thanx for sharing 💖 i love her music since i was a teen 🎶
I am jealous right about now..... Her boa? You can probably still get a contact high off it.
I missed her when she came through Colorado 50+ years ago. But I still put this album on from time to time and lay back and enjoy. What a woman and what a voice.
She asked for the bar- yes this was Janis... :) !! So sad that she left us so much too soon..!!! We never stop to miss you Janis...
wow..thank u for sharing, I pictured the foggy night from HK
The sparksthat flew.. off her are setting fires to this very day thank you for the Post...
Saw her in '68 and I will ever never forget her.

Her voice just brings tears to me eyes. She sings with so much emotion.
The song Maybe easily reaches everyone. It arrives in the blink of an eye. Welcome Janis Joplin. 3:21
I was in Vietnam, I had a poster of her. I wore out her cassettes. And when I heard the bad news. I sat down and cried.

yes
There was a time, when music was music to the soul.
Still is. Just stay away from the mainstream
@ does it really matter if it's not mainstream?
It's just harder to find
@@elpeluca7780 Yes , it does, as it shows the lack of talent, taste, and what else makes that kind of music superior. Songs that are hard to find is something only some people the motive. Also, it shows how this type of music, being in the dark, is not in its prime. Though, it should always be rather than what is trending nowadays. For example, nothing iconic that is from the soul has been produced from early times... Its unfortunate you don't see the harsh reality.
@ why does it need to be iconic?
El Peluca it’s not that it is a MUST but symbolizes what music is superior of that decade and/or year of which it has come out. Years of music is seen as the top of the charts for each year for a reason...
Every song she sang she didn't just sing; she occupied those songs, totally in that moment. All these years later I still miss her.
I'm a 58 year old woman who's life changed when I first heard Janis Joplin sing. I had never seen or heard anyone like her. To this very day, she still amazes me! She created a new perspective for me, of the world around me. I wasn't as pretty as the other girls my age, and couldn't sing as well, and was from a downtrodden area know as "OkieVille" in California. She made me realize that it didn't matter where I was from, what I had, or didn't have. I lived through her, singing with a hairbrush in front of my mirror. I would have, and still to this day, given anything to have had one moment with her to tell her what she meant to me, and how she changed me forever. "Maybe", Piece of my Heart, To love somebody...and the list goes on. Thank You, Janis, for being different than the rest, and reassuring a young teenage girl, that dreams can come true, and idols do come along, and live forever in your soul. AND for being the AMAZING performer that you were, and still are. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
This was very sweet Rhonda.
Beautiful!! She's still spiring so many girls, young girls (like me), in the world!!!!
Rhonda Todt thank you for sharing your story❤️
Check out the Americas got talent im telling you thats her reincarnated into this young talented musician and she even looks juss like her..she is the reason why im looking up who Janice is and came across your story and thought id tell you about my experience. Hope you enjoy
Rhonda Todt I feel ya all the way...She changed my life and spirit..Yes she had great courage to stand up and be herself. The same Janis that was harassed all the way from public schools in Port Arthur to college in Texas..Yet she found the best way to express herself..Singing.She sang unashamedly, strong, fragile emotions exploding like gas to a flame..This was a woman which in her day..was a woman who sang...Have another piece of my heart.Move Over ..The same Janis who stood up and showed everyone that it's ok to be Janis..Be true to yourself.
Janis is not very known in my country, and I was born long after she died. I have heard of her not too recently but I was listening to other musicians during that time. Well, i Did not expect tears to run down my face when I first saw this. Janis had the balls to strip down her own skin and bare her soul when she sang. And she was beautiful, all real and pure. Those people in the crowd were lucky. The band was also incredible.
what a beautiful post. Thank you. So many agree with you 100% all over the world.
What a great story ❤
Which planet are you from?
I was in the first few rows when she sang Saturday afternoon at The Monterey Pop Festival in 1967. I a young blues fan, my mouth fell open and my body was out of my control. That young woman touched my soul. Now decades latter I still tell people that was a major event in my life.
What is that country lol
This is next-level brilliance. Unbelievable technical skill mixed with raw passion and amazing style. The best of the best.
This cannot be taught.
Oh my...I have no words.
I was feeling what you’re saying, but couldn’t put it into words and you just did.
Well put !! Tried her records. But man these live prformances just blows me away. Completely naked. And voice skills. Man she delivers. She has no defincw. That why we love her. Thats why sha gor hurt. Oh. Man.
Voices like hers don't exist anymore...
I hope wherever she is she knows how much she's loved and missed.
@Deb...Heaven, and she's probably blown away by the fact that people on earth fall in love with her every day.

I wish I was you......Must be Great memories.
lol that's right! I was going to correct my gramatical mistake. *very lucky or blessed.
waouh 1968 it s my birth year!!!!
I'm happy to see that those people in the crowd really seemed to appreciate how privileged that they are to be in attendance for this. This is very special.
I remember my sister and I were huge fans of Janis and my sister used to sleep with a transister radio under her pillow. I remember her waking me up crying saying "Janis is dead", and we sat there crying and hugging each other thinking, "what if....."?
Hi Patricia
Can't imagine how emotionally draining it must have been performing at that level ...a once in forever artist.
I've never seen a performance where she didn't leave absolutely everything on the stage. Everything...
Performing energized her ------ It was being off stage that drained Janis. If she could have been on the stage all the time, she may have lived on and on. I wish she could have always stayed where she was happy: On the stage
You can see her on UA-cam singing a song on the Dick Caveat show. After the song she was totally out of breath. She smoked cigarettes.
I wish you see this comment. Maybe it's not you are saying in your comment, but Janis once said: On stage, I make love to 25,000 different people, then I go home alone.
@@MarcAmengual wow !!!!!
I was there. I had friends in Niagara Falls and they invited me to come up because they were going to this concert, so I did. The Dead was also playing too. It was held in a stadium and it was an outdoor concert. We were all stoned out of our minds and enjoyed the hell out of it.
damn baby girl killed it effortlessly. rest in paradise.
It's like every song she sings, she sings her heart out! Wow. Amazing performer.
Nobody made us feel their soul like Janis Joplin 😢🌻🌺
This is one of the greatest vocal performances I think I have ever heard.
Watch her perform the same song on the Ed Sullivan show (UA-cam).
It is an even better performance.
Janis...as fragile as a wildflower....As heavy as an
iron dragonfly...Her being was the essence of her song. Her beauty was not easy for those who couldn’t or wouldn’t feel the gift she laid out. It was too lonely, too loving, too painful. It was real, electric, yet vulnerable..Pure and honest soul.
A pure soul will never become a drug addict
frau Dru I have met a lot of pure souls who are recovering addicts.

*HER VOICE IS SO POWERFUL!!*
She's so pretty 😍

EVERY song she sang .....she sang the hell out of it....her mother was so afraid she would lose her voice due to the volume she put into her performances...
WOW! Thank You. 1st time i've heard this. WON'T be the last. What a voice. WHAT A LADY. Such Passion. Such raw energy.
Such raw emotion.

I love her. Just beautiful.
maravilhosaaaa!!!
robby rensenbrink yes!
saw her live in concert ----incredible~~~~~~
I saw her in concert to in height Ashbury - she was as authentic as they come - she laid her heart and soul out for everyone to see and hear.
How was it? :)
what came to mind was she was incredibly fragile and incredibly authentic. her music/voice words spoke to something music rarely if ever touches on. she poured herself into her music completely. I felt like she needed protection.
She did.
La meilleure !
Holy shit. This is literally the first time I'm hearing of her and wow, what an experience.
Don't let it be the last.
awesome!!' go deep. play the songs hundreds of times amd then youll probally wanna know who she is. and i dont mean only her story but her passion, her ways, her laugh, likes dislike.
Janis is like the old blues singers in that she revealed universal human experience without pretense. But when she screamed it went straight to your heart, from hers to yours.
You just said it perfectly.
I really want to find My heart Again..!!!😅
I think u reallly got it. That is it! Never saw nobody singing like her, totally gave herself to the music.
❤
I remember when I was very young and heard for the first time Janis Joplin: I simply couldn't believe such a voice, such feelings...it was like her heart was singing! I "ll always remember her and I listen to her music quite often. And with all due respect to Kris his song Me and Bobby McGee is a masterpiece sung by Janis.
Still one of the most amazing artists ever, i wished the world would have loved her more, instead of putting her down for her looks, she was beautiful in body and soul
SHE WAS GORIOUS
What man' wouldn't love a women, that is all natural, no silicone anywhere, no makeup anywhere, and a voice that will never ever be duplicated. The beauty is in the persons soul not looks !
She deserved more
Janis blows them all out of the water. Not a lullaby specialist, but she sure can sing the blues.
You can hear her softer side in some of her songs…just beautiful. She could sing anything and I’m glad she chose rock and the blues
Once in a lifetime they blaze across across the dark heavens, illuminating our lives for a brief moment with light so bright it is almost painful to focus. We look up with awe and wonder. Then it's gone. But it's burned into memory. The afterglow remains, through the decades, forever. Gone, but not forgotten.
Roland Moswick wow
And the day the songs all died..... wonderful way to put it Roland Moswick....Thank you.....
Roland Moswick yes WOW.♥
Eloquently said Roland Moswick.

such a fantastic voice!!! Janis went deep into her soul and pulled all her emotions out... still overwhelming after so many years - thank you Janis & R.I.P.!
P.m.
Love Janis so much. This is my favorite live performance of all of hers. She is so raw, emotional and beautiful. Her emotions just are pouring through. You can feel them. It seems she is about to perhaps cry at a few points, which makes it even more beautiful, powerful and poinant. It just makes you wonder and ponder what was going on in her personal life at the time. Or what she was thinking about and feeling. Who she was singing to. I am one of the biggest Janis Joplin fans. She is my all time favorite. I'm 34, so unfortunately I didn't get to ever see her live, but I would of gave an arm or leg to lol. She was so deep and emotional. They don't make them like her anymore. A simple scene, just showing her talent without the lights and glamour.
Indeed
Jane Joplin será para sempre uma das melhores vozes que existiu de todos os tempos 🤟🤟🤟

Oh you might understand.

Now come on, I said come back,

That part is just heaven!
My aunt has always had this big poster of her, i think it's from a Rolling Stone magazine. It's in black and white, she's holding a cigarette, her whole wrist and neck covered in jewelry, her hair wild and grand and with the biggest smile i've seen. She looks like she is laughing, a raw and natural laugh, with wrinkles and pores showing.
I grew up looking at her in that poster thinking she was the most beautiful woman i've ever seen.
At a certain age i finally looked her up on the internet and i fell in love with her. Everything about her it's fascinating, fresh, and magical.
She's more than human. Janis is divine.
My mum has a Poster like that, a different one But she is laughing too and i love it so much... she really got it, when im down i always look Janis up. She just was too good to believe.....

She is just legendary. One where live performances sound better than studio recordings. That's incredible because you can't control the stage. Well, unless you were Janis Joplin. Christ. The way she belts out near the end of a certain word, it's so striking.

She tore her heart open with every song. I was afraid to look at it. I was too young and stupid to know how beautiful she was and how much she contributed to the world's soul and mine. Never saw or heard a singer or performer as brave as Janis and don't expect there'll ever be one.

Nunca, essa música e dela e só dela
She was so much more than most people realize, and her loss was and is truly devastating. She was an insatiable soul who gave as much as she took. This is my personal favorite of her songs.
She wrote many of her own songs of course, but she could take a song, any song, and reinterpret it in the way that from then it became identified with her. You wouldn't even recognize the original version of this 50s Chantels song once you hear Janis sing it.
For many of us who listened to her and saw her in the day, she remains unparalleled.
Magyarul van
Shes amazing and its sad she is almost forgotten on the singer song scene, deserves a lot more attention in my opinion! 🥰👍
She deserves to be forgotten. She mangled a classic R&B song the same way she did with all of the songs she vocalized-I REFUSE to call that caterwauling "singing."
I'm not totally sure what you mean by the singer song scene, but I don't know if I would say she is almost forgotten. It probably depends where you live, but considering how long it's been since her death, the length of her career, and amount of material she put out I feel like she is still fairly recognized. I still hear her songs on the radio regularly as well as in tv, movies, etc. and she's in the rock n roll hall of fame, and I still hear even newer artists (specifically female) who mention her as influences
@@ValleyoftheRogueI put your post into Google translate, and it said “I call myself ValleyOfTheRogue and I’m a petty hater and a musical cretin. I have no talent, so I denigrate those who do, in a desperate bid for attention.”
