Janis Joplin has been to this day the greatest woman rock performer. No one has equalled her voice, interpretation and technique. She is and will ever be irreplaceable.
I saw Janis at the Cleveland Auditorium. When she sang "Ball & Chain" it almost brought me to tears. She seemed so fragile, but tough, as if she'd be fine if she could find the right man (or woman). I had to see her after the show. It was a foggy, rainy night and I waited about 2 hours at the back door of the place, everybody else had gone, and then she came out, by herself. She was wearing a feather boa and a fur coat. I just told her how much I loved her and was happy for her. She said, "Well thank you darlin'. I'm glad you liked it." She gave me a hug and gave me the boa (which I still have 50 years later) and asked me if there was a bar opened around there. I told her the way to go and she walked away in the fog. Wow, what an experience that was. I would have gone with her but I had to be at work at 8 am.
I am jealous right about now..... Her boa? You can probably still get a contact high off it. I missed her when she came through Colorado 50+ years ago. But I still put this album on from time to time and lay back and enjoy. What a woman and what a voice.
And she just kicks to the beat of the drum and punches to the sound of the rhythm and belts out iconic lyrics. She is in her third eye element. It’s beautiful.

I'm a 58 year old woman who's life changed when I first heard Janis Joplin sing. I had never seen or heard anyone like her. To this very day, she still amazes me! She created a new perspective for me, of the world around me. I would have, and still to this day, given anything to have had one moment with her to tell her what she meant to me, and how she changed me forever. "Maybe", Piece of my Heart, To love somebody...and the list goes on. such a fantastic voice!!! Janis went deep into her soul and pulled all her emotions out... still overwhelming after so many years - thank you Janis & R.I.P.!
She is just legendary. One where live performances sound better than studio recordings. That's incredible because you can't control the stage. Well, unless you were Janis Joplin. Christ. The way she belts out near the end of a certain word, it's so striking.
Lovely Pearl making her magic and connecting with the audience~straight into their hearts, can see the ladies feeling the pull~power in their facial expressions exhibited here, just fantastic.
Have LOVED Janis when I first heard her in college....listened to her all of my life....drove my kids crazy....but still listening to her.....died way too young.....
a mulher se entrega de corpo e alma em tudo que canta... quem sabe faz ao vivo!!! isso é cantar, sem auto tune, sem maquiagem, sem pernas de fora, na raça!!!
My aunt has always had this big poster of her, i think it's from a Rolling Stone magazine. It's in black and white, she's holding a cigarette, her whole wrist and neck covered in jewelry, her hair wild and grand and with the biggest smile i've seen. She looks like she is laughing, a raw and natural laugh, with wrinkles and pores showing. I grew up looking at her in that poster thinking she was the most beautiful woman i've ever seen. At a certain age i finally looked her up on the internet and i fell in love with her. Everything about her it's fascinating, fresh, and magical. She's more than human. Janis is divine.
My mum has a Poster like that, a different one But she is laughing too and i love it so much... she really got it, when im down i always look Janis up. She just was too good to believe.....

She tore her heart open with every song. I was afraid to look at it. I was too young and stupid to know how beautiful she was and how much she contributed to the world's soul and mine. Never saw or heard a singer or performer as brave as Janis and don't expect there'll ever be one.
Nobody understood your pain honey. You were so rare, unique, gifted and a beautiful woman, but you didn't know it! You poured out your soul on stage. And this world wasn't meant for a heart so fragile as yours darlin' Thank you Janice, you gave all you had till you had completly emtied yourself out. May your spirit fly free. You are whole now in Gods sight~
such a fantastic voice!!! Janis went deep into her soul and pulled all her emotions out... still overwhelming after so many years - thank you Janis & R.I.P.!

Best rhythm and blues singer ever lived.🎶 Thanks for the memories. RIP. 🙏❤.
She is just legendary. One where live performances sound better than studio recordings. That's incredible because you can't control the stage. Well, unless you were Janis Joplin. Christ. The way she belts out near the end of a certain word, it's so striking.
E' entrata nella leggenda e' immortale
Oh my gosh!!! This is the first time I listen to her, she's amazing!!! I'm crying!!!
Teresita Valencia enjoy it

She was ahead of her time..so sad, and lonely..her music/sound is timeless❤️
Janis blows them all out of the water. Not a lullaby specialist, but she sure can sing the blues.
You can hear her softer side in some of her songs…just beautiful. She could sing anything and I’m glad she chose rock and the blues
The host introducing the song is me every time I hear the name Janis Joplin.
"Oww!" [does a funky little dance]

a mulher se entrega de corpo e alma em tudo que canta...
quem sabe faz ao vivo!!!
isso é cantar, sem auto tune, sem maquiagem, sem pernas de fora, na raça!!!
De fato !!!!!
Southern Man
Concordo sem auto-tune
👍👍👍👍❤️это точно!
Maybe one of the greatest live performers of all time. Peace and love 🌺
