Check out Honkai Impact 3rd’s new update here: hoyo.link/1d9JDTAd Just a quick note that I will be going on vacation later this month for the first time in my life! I'll keep you guys posted on here and on Twitter as to what that will look like in terms of uploads. I appreciate your continued support on the channel; got lots planned for you guys in the background so I hope you're looking forward to it!
Seeing Nidoqueen in the thumbnail and it being a Nuzlocke in HeartGold got me excited. I really do like poison types. Very good variety in these games. Thank you, Silph (:
Funny thing especially in the earlier games: the poison type had quite a lot of good Pokemon in its roster. But only a very few of them had a real advantage by (also) having the poison type.
During my first playthrough of SoulSilver, my Nidoqueen, Juliet, saved me from wiping to Lance by tanking Draco Meteors while I healed my team. I’ve had a softspot for Nidoqueens since then.
Currently doing a nuzlocke of SS where ekans was absolutely VITAL in all the first three gyms Sadly lost it before morty but damn if it didn’t ensure the run got to this point Poison, paralysis, attack drops with intimidate and defense drops with leer and later screech, along with a number of early game resistances. I salute you little buddy
@visionofsolace8961 In Gen 2 (GSC), they weren't trying to make Johto Pokémon. In the Gen 2 games and most promotional material, the new Pokémon are described as newly discovered Pokémon. They were indicating that the original 251 were found natively in both regions, and the newest 100 were just discovered between Red's and Gold's journeys. (Example: in GSC, Houndour is only found in Kanto. Houndour is a Kanto Pokémon) Then, when they made Gen 3, they originally planned for only new Pokémon. Not a single old Pokémon would have been available (this changed during development, but not until after a number of Pokémon were designed. Such as the entire Wurmple family)
@@iAmBadAtRodding Oh. I cannot remember ever doing any of the other games (Only ever played Gen IV and Black/White). That's really dissapointing, especially for a game that is essentially for kids. Gotta get that gambling addiction going...
I did this run a long time ago, and I have to say Crobat absolutely reminded me why it is still a premier Nuzlocke Pokémon to this day. And the run as a whole reminded me why Poison is my favorite type
The poison type in general can be criminally underrated. It doesn't have many weaknesses and often come in the form of incredibly scary pokemon (Crowbat/Gengar).
I don't know exactly what the naming theme is but my guess is cancelled or "poisonous" celebrities. Even if I'm wrong, it made me laugh throughout the video. I love that you do Nuzlockes in older games, not just the new ones
It's so cool to see you revisiting these older games, esp since I'm playing soulsilver with a bellsprout and Ekans on my team. I was curious do you plan on revisiting the true power series at all?. I'd love to see your take on Jessie and James or Guzma's best teams or some of the anime rivals. Please keep up the awesome work
Haven't watched the video yet, but based on my experience, crobat is going to be really good. I'm not sure if it'll be the mvp, but I'm sure it'll be important
Been binge watching your nuzlockes lately and love them! How long do they typically take you to complete (obviously they will vary depending on type and region)
Dunno if you've already done it, Silph, but if you haven't you should consider doing some variety of tierlist for Pokemon. Could be a "gen 1" list, or all water types etc. Could be based on viability/strength but also aesthetics and whatnot. With your knowledge I think it would make for excellent and fun content. You saying Tentacruel was within your top 50 favourite mons gave me the idea.
Generation 2 is where it all started for me so it'll always have a special place with me. Sure, the later games are better but that's because they can be. The tech got better.
This year is so weird and sad for me for many reasons but after long days your videos are my gateway, I don’t even play pkm anymore but I do enjoy listen and watch you play the game, thanks mate God bless you
This is a really interesting run. It’s surprising just how many poison type encounters you get before the 1st gym badge in hgss. This run is changing how I view poison types lol
Thanx. Gen 2 is my favorite game. Poison is my favorite type. Gengar is my favorite Mon. Crobat is my second. This run was made for me lol. Thanx Silph.
You should try a double Hardcore Nuzlocke of this game: the Johto gyms with only Gen 2 Pokémon and the Kanto gyms with only Gen 1 Pokémon and then the survivors reunited for the final challenge against Red. The poison type could be a good one for this challenge but also Water, Bug, Flying and Normal could work.
24:32 The AI in Pokemon knows every stat about their own and about your current Pokemon on the field. It sees Ben with only 34 HP and calculates the damage each of Polywraths attacks. And if the AI sees a kill with more than one move it'll just roll the dice and picks one fatal move at random. In your case it went for Surf. So the AI will sometimes use uneffective moves against you, if they calculate a killing blow. This is super important for Nuzlockes :)
I love both the Nido (I usually try to evolve both in Fire Red/Leaf Green) but most of the time I end up using Nidoking. However I *love* Nidoqueen and she needs all the love she deserves.
Im literally doing a Poison SoulSilver Nuzlocke right now, lol irony that you post this right before I go into the Elite Four. I lost my Crobat and Wheezing to Espeon Kimono Girl...I got Crit twice in a row
You could but under Nuzlocke rules, it's only the first wild Pokémon encounter that can be obtained and technically since Weedle appeared first, the wild Beedrill encounter is missed.
@@crazychristopher1989 weedle is beedrill he didn’t try to catch anything at the park. Therefor he could have got a guaranteed beedrill as it’s the only poison type available that he didn’t already have
I felt so proud seeing Arbok get some respect on his name! Always loved its design and felt it was underrated and underutilized in the potential department.
Hey Silph. I have a suggetion for you challenges: Single type challenge. As the name suggest you can only use pokemon with 1 type. Unlike mono type challenge where you can use pokemon with 1 specific type + another. "What about pokemon that gets a new type upon evolution?": I would say thats a no-go for that line but that´ll be up to the challenger him/herself. Think it´ll still be as hard/easy as other challnges you make. I am planning giving the same suggetion to other poke-tubers I watch
This was another fun run, great work! So, you said you'd keep us posted, but those who don't have Twitter accounts can't access it for free anymore. So I'd REALLY appreciate it if you did use the Community postings to do so. Thank you very much! Oh, and I hope you enjoy that vacation when it comes time! Side note: Honkai Impact 3rd is one of my favorite series. 😀
I used to do mono type Poison runs in Red/Blue since it was the only type (that I could think of as a kid) where I could get a starter in type, and learn every HM
2:37 Tbf, PChal's video on Gen 2 is really funny and definitely puts a spotlight on Gen 2's MANY flaws. Don't know why people hate the remakes so much though.
Silph talking about listening to his friends complaining about back pain at the age of 30 and I’m over here at 29 holding my back thinking in my mind: “Nah it’s not that bad.”
👍 for those who know about Kim's and Ray J's love at first sight reference lol... especially since Silph is one to talk about the clyoster and Onix refrence.

It was good to see Arbok really putting in a showing as I always feel it's a very under appreciated Pokemon
Now that Tauros finally sort of got some love, I think only Golduck and Arbok are more deserving of... something.

Nah Arbok is cool but it suuuucks
Agreed! It’s one of my favorite Pokémon and my ace in Ultra Moon.
Since the Original 151 include 32 Poison-types, that means over 1/5 of Kanto is Poison (or roughly 20%).
The original 2 gens gave us so many poison types they dialed down the number a lot in recent gens
@@visionofsolace8961Gen 2 introduce only 4 poison type pokemon
Despite being 20% of the pokemon population the poison type are responsible for 50% of the violent crimes commited by Team rocket members.

Gengar : Hold my BoltBeam and ground immunity
