- The new Mercedes Benz GLC 300 is here and there are big changes. Under the hood is a 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 producing 255 HP & mated to a 9-speed automatic. The exterior has all new redesigned front and rear fascias including the headlights. On the inside you will find a high level of quality materials. Is the 2020 Mercedes Benz GLC 300 a luxury SUV worth considering?

Just bought a low mileage 2020 CPO GLC300. We drove so many different cars but the moment we drove this we felt “this is it.” Got one loaded with all the options and safety features, and the car is an absolute joy to drive. Got the AMG line trim package which looks quite sharp. The ride is so smooth and quiet , a stylish interior, and it just makes you feel like you’re in your own little ecosystem separate from everything else around you.
How’s maintenance & repairs??
@@andrewilliams6866 Still loving the vehicle. First scheduled maintenance will be in a few months but we haven't had any issues with the car since purchasing it earlier this year.
How has it been? I'm looking at a CPO 2020 that is only at 14,000 miles. Practically new. How tight would it be to fit 3 kids in the 2nd row with 3-across car seats?
I just bought a 2021 GLC. Absolutely amazing car. It's a reason it's the top selling luxury SUV
I just purchased my MB GLC 300 and can't wait to drive like the wind...
Hey how’s its holding up? Any particular issues or anything note worthy you can share?
The shifter location is by far the best location. I own a GLC and the electronic shifter is easy to reach and operate and off the console. No looking down, no space taken up.
i absolutely have to agreee with you. It’s basically as easy as flicking a switch. Literally. Flick the switch and drive off
For no space taken up, they didn’t make any room for storage in the center console (besides cupholders)
As to the driving position, I don’t find it cramped at all. The way it wraps around me makes me feel very secure and protected. It’s one of the things I like most about the vehicle.
Great review. Love watching your reviews. Professional, articulate, and no wasted time!
i recently bought the glc 300 amg package and I LOVE IT!
Another great review Joe I'm so absolutely proud of u my man 🙏
That really mean a lot! Thanks for having my back!
@@RaitisRides Great review, the wife and I are currently looking at the GLC to replace our E-Class lease return. By the way, what kind of watch are you wearing, nice piece!
9:46 -It's haptic not hepatic(which means liver) . I zonked you on that LOL! Love your reviews.!
Maybe he had a bilious reaction to the haptic feedback...
I tripped on my thoughts with that one! I appreciate the correction!
I see what you did there!
NERD!!!
😂😂😂 nice catch.. I didn't even notice.. lol
You finally convinced me to make up my mind and buy this car… thank you so much bro and Mercedes owe you a big thank you too 😊
I got one of these as a loaner, and I feel your “Hey Mercedes” pain! Even though it’s only mine for a couple days, I had to turn that crap off. 🙂
Thanks David for relating to that situation.
I bought 2019 GLC last year. But I feel 2020 looks much better
Been thinking of getting the 2021 GLA but I like this better
I am glad that I can bring it to you!
Just got a 2022 CPO with night package. Awesome pick so thank you 🤗
You just made me buy this car, thank you!
I am so glad that you like this one.
Omg.... you’re on a roller coaster my man.
That’s what German luxury vehicles are, roller coasters, one day youre having fun the next your wallet is going poo poo
I've never really liked the look of this SUV. I always thought that the back isn't that attractive and its sort of forgettable looking - nothing special. Recently I decided to finally give in and update my 2009 Toyota - my post college car. I wanted a small, quick sporty SUV but w the interior comfort of a luxury sedan. My husband kept telling me to test drive this car, but I thought it was a soccer momish SUV. I was leaning towards the BMW X6 or X4 - drove both, liked them, but just didn't feel RIGHT, the X6 was amazing - LUXURY beautiful interior, but the car interior was so oversized - very much designed with a man's dimensions in mind. My elbows did not sit right on the door/arm rest and center console, and the steering wheel did not adjust very far down like I prefer. It felt like I was driving a school bus lol, albeit with a fabulous interior and FAST [M edition]. I finally decided to give the GLC 300 a try. I knew the moment I started driving it, that this was the ONE. It's exactly what I was looking for and the exterior has grown on me. I test drove the AMG 43 as well - the AMG version of the GLC 300, and it was BEAUTIFUL, esp the rims and exterior touches [BREAK NECK FAST TOO LOL], but I really did not need that power, and the seats felt stiffer [sportier] and I was looking for comfort. Anyway - I am VERY happy with my purchase, I LOVE my black on black GLC300 4Matic. I do not like all the chrome - chrome on the door handles, on the back under bumper, the front under the grill, around the side windows -chrome chrome and more chrome ugh. But it was a great deal - the rims are upgraded and it was $9500 below sticker brand new [2020] bc it was a courtesy car. Re the looks, its not the flashiest of lux suvs, and its not a flashy Mercedes at all. It is sort of a forgettable car - which I kind of like. After driving a small Toyota for many years, I did not like the thought of owning a flashy car, so I get to own/drive a fabulous luxury vehicle, while flying under the radar a bit.. win/win!
Angela Marie , congratulations! Good luck with high maintenance especially with electrical problems. You should have looked at Lexus RX350
@@sungshin393 In the words of Frank Stephenson, the new Lexus models have way too many lines and too much going on. I understand that Lexus is a better long term investment, but if you upgrade every 2 years and drive >8k / yr and OK with depreciation - German cars are way better looking and much better driving experiences IMO. The last Lexus styling I like was the 2011 IS. After that, Lexus design completely fell off.
Angela Marie , glad you’re happy with your purchase. Does your VIN number start with letter “W”? If yes, then your vehicle was made in Germany which should have better quality built than USA or somewhere else.
Sung Shin I don’t understand why you have to downplay other people’s cars, as if Lexus is reliable. New Lexus are unreliable and cost for parts are high. If both are gonna be unreliable I prefer having a better driving experience.
@@sungshin393 Lexus interior is outdated and clunky. Drives terrible and eats oil. Overall, don’t buy a Lexus.
I enjoy you reviews. Since I am shopping, I find them helpful. My background is engineering and I think like engineers do. You stated that the exhaust chrome ports were fake. Thinking like an engineer, I checked it out. They are not fake. There is an internal panel that you feel at first, but as you move your hand deeper you will the pipes. The exhaust has to go somewhere either out the back or under the vehicle.
Ok, Joe. The GLC I checked for the exhaust pipes was a 2019. MB did eliminate the pipes for 2020. ???
It’d be great if your review of the rear cargo area included how well (or not) a set of golf clubs lay across the back (side to side).
Some people complain about the HP, but it does 60 in about 5.8 per this report, which is good for any SUV.
Incorrect. 6.1 seconds
Another great review Joe I'm so absolutely proud of u my man 🙏. Very distinctive looking GLC 300. Would love to see a 2019 Mercedes-Benz G63 Wagon. Thanks Joe.
The g63 hard to keep on the lot plus they going over sticker
We’re is the Spare Tire..??? Or Spot for..???
My favorite German SUV! Nice video Joe.
Very cool Jeremiah!
Great review. Wife is about to replace a totaled X3. Maybe this, another X3, or a bigger Q7. Sounds like I’m doing algebra.
Yeah, I was like, why's this guy solving math problems on a car review 😂😂.... you and your wife probably make good money too 😂
I’ve got a 2017 BMW X3 (brilliant car btw) on lease. (company car). It expires in June. Pretty sure this my next car.
I was about to pick up the kids from school..but it can wait!
Lol the kids can wait 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
LoL 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Overall, enjoyed your GLC 300 video very much. I’ve watched it a few times to help me decide about buying one. You may need to retract your “zonk” on the front air scoops, because they are not smooth. I believe these are not smooth in order to improve airflow over them. It’s kind of like the same reason a golf ball isn’t smooth. Keep up the good work.
I think about the GLC as a Mazda car though GLC stands for "Great Little Car" in Mazda terminology. When it comes to the Mercedes-Benz GLC 300, I've called the Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 as "great looking crossover".
Nice review as usual, but what can you fit in the door pockets?? Did I miss it ?
They're not fake exhaust tips, they're storage cubby holes.
Looked at one yesterday; it was plain jane dealer inventory car with basic features, and a MSRP of 43K. The 4Matic, AMG wheels, blacked out trim and pano roof, such as the one here, adds 10K. You failed to mention the basic driver assist safety features and, that adaptive cruise is optional. It’s easy to spec out this car nicely and end up with a high 50K MSRP.
Joe when are you reviewing the all new 2023 GLC?? I'd love to see it
PREACH!!!! VENTED SEATS AFTER 40K PRICE TAG, is to be expected. I think go back a buy a used GLE, and get all you could ever wish for.
I own one! it is the best car I have ever owned!
One I have is a diesel though
Can u hear the turbo?
@@blendedbyjavi yes
How do the safety features on a GLC and a GLE compare?
If I add all the safety packages to both cars are they pretty much the same in terms of safety?
Would the GLE be a better choice because it is larger and likely to perform better in a crash?
Nice job brother 👍🏿
Okay I’m only 13 but I really want this car when I get older.
You can do it man!
🤜🏿🤛🏿 Yesssssss.. 💥
Do the rear seat behind front seats light up!!????Too!
I wish Mercedes kept that diamond front grill for its 2020 GLC AMG 43
AGREED! It would help the looks.
agree w the ventilated seats. i mean, you can option them but its what liek a $3000 option w the seats that come with it. also, no burmeister in that one? meh... .its nice.. and imo the settling choice when the gle, optioned out, is over 80.. sigh
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this GLC 300.
"No ventilated seats for $51k" --> Except for Genesis, there are no luxury brands that offer that feature for that price in compact sedans or crossovers.
It's a tough pill to swallow.
@@RaitisRides I don't disagree. But, I'm just saying you'll be doing a lot of zonking. ;)
Acura and Lexus will offer it
enjoyed the review! good work
Thanks for saying that it really means a lot!
Love ❤️the light up door sill!!! Does it have the forward collision feature? Great video!!! Excellent!!!!!!
The best mom car!!
Could you compare the GLC 300 2020 to GLA 250 2021 ?
I know right Alan!
Do they have a massaging driver seat!
Our MB GLC 300 does drive like the wind.
Hey Jo, I like Mercedes I have a 2012 C300, My one issue is it doesn't have enough horse power. And now when I hear that the new GLC 300 only has 255 horses. I'm sorry it's just not enough. It should really be around 275-280 especially if that one you did the review on has the AMG appearance package. I know it's not a true AMG, but if it's got the AMG on it Mercedes should bump up the horse power some just for that spec.
Thanks for sharing your input and perspective! I really appreciate you watching!
AWESOME RAITI, Finally
THANKS from NEW ZEALAND
Can you hear the turbo?
My future car!
Does it have ACC?
And also, what's with the nickel and diming of not including ventilated seats in a lot of luxury SUVs?
Mercedes needs to package options better. It’s impossible to find one equipped the way you want.
Pretty nice but I think the rear would look better if the badging was positioned lower. Should have ventilated seats too at that price. Nice job Joe! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
Very good point! I think this SUV is over rated!
This is a cheaper version of 2020 GLC 4MATIC. Fully loaded (not AMG still) have the better back with badging in the centre.
It also has better LED headlights, better rims and few other options.
Looks better than new GLE, but GLE can offroad
Good review Joe...I am always looking at your reviews, very detailed. The wife just totaled our Audi Q5 (she is ok) and comparing to this model vs a 21 Q5. The Q5 was awesome, but I am liking the looks in and out of the Benz just felt it was smaller in the driving position and didnt ride as well...but that might have had to do with the model I test rode. She will drive it Monday and we will decide. Which do you prefer...21 vs 21 and both will be awd. Thanks for the help
Her reward for totalling the other one
You didn’t dock it for the exposed rear wiper man. Should be tucked under as you always say. 😒
Really nice small SUV - BUT it does not have a spare wheel! If you have a blow-out with this on the open road, you will have to wait for HELP - that stupid kit cannot fix a blown tire!
More people should complain about this to have car makers listening.
Totally agree. It's a major safety item.
All they do do is moaning about heated steering wheel or some crap
Have the GLC 220d with the useless tire repair kit
Hello. Is this the regular black glc or the obsidian?
Why some GLC 300 has one bar in the Front Grill with Diamond Studs, Other has two bars in the grill and no diamond stud? Thinking to move from Audi Q5 18 to Benz GLC 300 2020
It's a minor facelift/refresh, not "all new" nor a "totally redesign."
Thanks for sharing your input and perspective! I really appreciate you watching!
It’s a fact, not his perspective! 🤦🏻♂️
Awesome!!! good stuff. Thank you!!
You are so very welcome Jim!
Are they moving away from the design of the C classes having 1 line in the led headlights, E class having 2 and S class having 3? I always used that to differentiate between them.
Also joe! 9:47 you mean haptic. Hepatic is relating to the liver lol, unless that is a hidden feature. Hope not!
Great vid!
NERD!
I like the GLC, but I chose Audi Q5. Probably because, Quattro all wheel drive comes standard and Audi handles more predictably!
This is so very true!
Half a zonk for this vehicle even having a sport+ mode. Automaker's gettin a bit outa hand in this department. And yes, i started reaching for a pen when you asked for those winning lottery numbers... oh well.
Check out the new MB GLE 450 for a look at the new MBUX dash.
Nice car for 2020 Mercedes Glc 300
The people who are moving to SUVs or back to SUVs are short sighted and don't have long term memories.
@rvidal0001 it has nothing to do with how long you have the car. It has to do with what kind of car you drive? Is it a sedan, a SUB or what?
Doesn't matter about the brand.
good presentation with details
why GLC doesn't have the integrated display in this new re-design as GLB or GLE has? I thought this is the trend for MB going forward.
Thanks for your review brother Raiti! This was awesome ✊🏿 🤜🏿🤛🏿 🙏🏿
You are so very welcome! I really appreciate you saying that!
The 2019 GLC headlights design looked better.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this one!
The tail lights definitely better on the older one. Head lights better on new one imo
Joe, this or the GV70?!
People only buy luxury cars because of the prestige & attention it comes with. Because, most of these extra features are in lower end cars....
Thanks for sharing your input and perspective! I really appreciate you watching!
Wrong.
Besides, no one wants to sit in a terrible cheap car that lower class people buy.
Not totally, totally. Refresh might be a better word.
I hope the touch screen is reachable unlike the GLE, the A Class and the upcoming CLA and GLS.
Are we sure this isn’t the AMG trim? None of the GLC AMG I’m seeing have this cluster.
Thank you for sharing your input and perspective! I really appreciate you watching!
It isn't an AMG, but it does have some AMG features.
It has the amg line package which basically just makes it sportier looking not anything with power
I am the GA lottery Mercedes-Benz 300 GLC SUV winner
2019:😊
2020:😠
I like the way that you showed that!
I’ll watch later Joe. Bowling night.👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
Which color would you (anyone reading this) choose for your GLC... between black or white?
I would go white.
Thanks for the review, brother .. Well done! ✊🏿🙏🏿
It looks wonky the rear headrests are so small compared to the wide seats 😂
Hey the dude didn’t show compartment of the spare tire. He’s a zonk🤨
Very nice ... on my wish list !
I am glad that I could share it with you Bruce!
Thank you.
I laugh when Joe ask for the lotto number nice SUV
Nice 👍
What if I've been living a crawdad hole in central Florida? Does that mean I have no concept of "Mercedes"? LMAO!
Few years late on the comment, but the reason for the faux vents is because when they are functional they get lined with a black char. Zonk revoked!
Just laughing watching this from Germany. 53k is almost the starting price for the base Model in Germany.I will never get how everything is so cheap in America.
That definitely is very interesting.
The price is always $10000 more in this channel
HUH? I quote actual MSRPs! LOL
Just got myself one
uhh it looks the same as my 2019. what's changed in 2020?
The exterior
They changed the interior and the lights and scanked people with the price, knowing that none AMG models depreciate as quick as f2ck
New 4cyl engine
Same engine with more horsepower
Front grill
Headlights
Display unit
Rims
Back panel
Wireless charger
Configurable gauge panel
To name few. This is a total new look
I’ll take take the Audi Q3 you did a review of Before this any day..... yea Mercedes has more name than Audi but considering the interior taste, I’ll take Q3
Mercedes has build in safety features at base model, whereas audi, you need to go up high model to get it. and the new Audi Q3, that 2.0T engine, might burn some engine oil
Sergeant Coby the Q3 isn’t even the same class lol. This measures to the Q5
This one clearly has the night package. They all won’t have the black trim in place of the chrome...
Thanks for sharing your input and perspective! I really appreciate you watching!
who ever buys this car cares more about status than value for a $50k car you should get ventilated seats
This is true!
Most Americans lease these cars..chasing clout
I’m not hating on Mercedes but Audi and BMW are kinda beating them in many ways.
He sounds exactly like Ben Askren
Thanks for your input and perspective! I appreciate you watching!
No one on this Chanel knows who Ben is. Super necessary 😂
Btw, judging by the reply you received guess he doesn't bother much about actually reading.
Take care my man and enjoy driving and fighting 🍺
Not a fan of the new touch pad. I like the gloss lookig touch pad with the knob. I am also not a fan of the new types of wood with the natural look. I like the Burl Wood better.
That being said I think the new GLC has amber (orange) turn signals in the rear.
Xc40 or glc300? Aaaaand go!
They have the shifter on the steering wheel, and there’s still no place to put your phone besides cup holders? Huge design flaw and wasted space.
