- Hi, this video shows you how to connect the Xbox One S console to an old CRT TV via the Composite AV input (Yellow, White and Red RCA/Phono Connectors).
The picture is limited to 480p which is still playable but only just.

I have a few suggestions go play fallout 3 or new vegas a crt somehow makes the textures look way more realistic
I had an old 1995 CRT tv until 2017. So, It lasted about 22 years. Holy cow, that is a super long lifetime for a CRT now that I think about it. I used to play on my Xbox 360 on it. Believe it or not, Xbox actually made a special output on the Xbox with an adaptor for CRT's. I would play Minecraft on my old CRT Television. My grandmother would get annoyed by this though, because we only had one television, and that was our only one, so, when she wanted to watch her shows and I was still playing, she would get annoyed lol.
Wow, this was definitely the piece of equipment we needed. We now have sound. However, the picture is in black and white, not color. Tried all the settings on TV and XBox but haven't figured out how to get color yet.
Or flip the switch on the adapter

I have an HDMI Intergrated Sanyo TV. The Xbox One S should deffinently work.
I just wanted to see if this was even possible. I have an old tv specifically for my old pre-ps3/xbox360 consoles, but I wondered if it was actually even possible to play anything ps3 or newer on a crt...
The Xbox 360 and PS3 both support Composite natively along with HDMI
I feel like there will always be tools for older tech in order to preserve them as long as possible

Mine doesn't seem to be working. I got the akale box thing but mine seems a little different. You know how yours said "pal and ntsc" instead mine says 720P and 1080P. Did I get the wrong one?

You might get a better picture if you use HDMI to S-Video. The only problem is that S-Video doesn't carry sound.
I have a converter close to yours I wanted to use to hook my Xbox Series X to a CRTV aswell, but it doesn't work... But, my newer gaming laptop can hook up just fine. Any suggestions?

yes, the only option will be 480i and if you have a crt tv that's 480i plugged into the 480i lcd tv and the xbox into the lcd tv it will work OR if you use an adapter +or if you build a HDMI to Composite/SVID. cable it will work

Yea, but you should use NTSC wich is like 60Hz becouse i think that new console games are only on 30fps or 60fps, and it looks choppy when you try to fit 60fps games in PAL at 50Hz, wich is only for videos in some regions.
But older consoles was in NTSC model and PAL model (with extra 25fps games), that's becouse some older TV's only had PAL 50Hz support i guess.
Untill xbox360 was that, from what i know.

im surprised it ends up fitting the screen width wise without looking scrunched since modern screens are much wider than they are tall in comparison to crts.
The TV he used was a 16:9 crt, so no aspect ratio difference...

Hi, you need to lower the resolution (video output) down to 720p on the PS4. If you can't plug the PS4 into another TV to change it then you will need to start it in 'SAFE MODE' to change the resolution. If none of this is successful then try the setup on another piece of equipment with HDMI output like a set top box or media player, xbox etc. just to see if the setup itself is working ok.

It could be the HDCP but normally the HDMI switch takes care off the HDCP. Read up about the SAFE mode and start it up on 480p. Also make sure the HDMI to VGA is actually converting the digital signal to analogue as some of the cheap £3 HDMI to VGA cables do not convert the signal. My £5 adapter actually converts the signal otherwise it won't work.

when i used one of the converters NTSC Was being finicky so i switched it to pal and it fixed my problem but to be fair i was useing a second hand one

This does work on newer televisions if they have the red white and yellow cables but most newer TVs come with HDMI so you will not need to use the HDMI adapter but if you like to you can it's totally up to you but it is not necessary so what you would do is to plugged up the console the adapter and the TV then you take the white yellow and red cables or just too white and yellow cables and plug them into the adaptor then then plug the HDMI cable from the Xbox into the adapter and that's it but also make sure the adapter the television and the console is all turned on at the same time put on the correct tv input and this you at work
