I've given up this year after 3 weeks. Just not enjoyable with everyone having Haaland and me having started without. Watched the weekends games and loved enjoying football without worrying if my FPL players had scored or not!
Hello Ross, 1. Let’s get this out the way - You do not need a wildcard. 2. Like you mentioned we have to take a step back to analyze where you are currently and your target rank. Virtually everyone above you owns Haaland, so buying Haaland and captaining him won’t get you up the ranks. 3. Honestly Salah has been poor the past few weeks, as an owner it’s utterly frustrating seeing Luiz Diaz outperform him and Palmer hasn’t exactly been setting the world on fire. Son has been playing out wide, Saka doesn’t seem to have that high ceiling. So I understand the frustrations. However what I’ll say to counter this is …. If Haaland hadn’t scored 10G in 5Games; Would we really say Salah that is on track to score 372 FPL points is underperforming? Palmer on track for 290pts currently or son on track for 260 are not good enough? 4. The currently scoring rates are unsustainable for Salah and Haaland. However Son and Palmer are sustainable and should be seriously considered if the fixtures are there.

You really need haaland man it’s practically impossible to play fpl without him, parter haaland with Palmer and mbuemo + esr and Trent + Raya as your expensive defenders and your team will massively improve
I just want to say, keep doing what you think is best and don't mind the sheep shouting at you weekly to be different. This is what makes you enjoyable to watch rather than your boring Andy Fpl's.

Hey Ross. You definitely don't need WC this week. I think honestly just Jota to Mbeumo is the only thing you need to do. WC in GW7 to get the robot in. Also, keep doing what you're doing mate. It's still the beginning of the season. I was at like 4.8M last season at this time and finished in the top 100k. You definitely still have time! Thanks for the content as always.

I don't think you should keep Luis Diaz in your team in the long term as the fixtures in a couple of weeks get a bit tricky and there could be some rotation moving forward. Trust me mate, I just want what's best for your team, maybe in the short term he's okay but maybe in a couple of weeks time you could downgrade him to like a Bowen or an Mbuemo or something like that.

I got 77 this week and I'm chuffed, brought in both Robertson and Rogers for Gvardiol and Madueke and it payed off big time, rather than getting a total of 4 points from Gvardiol and Madueke, I got 16 from Robertson and Rogers combined! Jackson turned up big time for me as well! Had him in since GW3 and I knew with the chances Chelsea create that he'd be amongst the big points!

Hi Ross, I’ve not really been feeling FPL this year if I’m being completely honest! I think I’ve put a bit of pressure (unknowingly and unintentionally) on myself to do well because of the time I spend watching content creators such as yourself - which I love. I aim to just take a backseat a bit more going forward. I know I can only make the best decisions I feel are right each week and the rest is down to the 11 players on the pitch. It’s cliche but true. 74 points. Went Saliba instead of Gabriel, thought he may be rotated with Calafiori. Had both last season may go back there and sell Porro. Rank at 224K. Mbeumo a must for Jota. I have Henderson too but again with Mbeumo your side looks good. You do know that Haaland is the elephant in the room!

Martinelli would be a great 1 week punt differential with Trossard suspended. Would actually give you something over GW6 wildcarders as well… Still very early days. You can easily pull this back for a decent rank
Haaland has 10 goals in 5 games and Newcastle are a mess, it’s not worth not having him and he’s a permanent captain, he’s messed up my rank every time i tried to captain anyone else. I would bring him in this week if I were you, WC or not, it’s such a no brainer to have the best player in the game
I'm in a very similar position to you, and I won't be wildcarding. Taking Salah and Watkins out before great fixtures just feels terrible. Going against Haaland has only gone badly because others haven't performed. If you back Salah and Watkins, stick to the plan and wildcard next week

I had the similar 3-5-2 structure. Ive wildcarded on saturday to protect price changes for players that i really wanted in my WC. I.e. Raya, Díaz, Mbeumo.. even Jackson.. I convinced myself into wildcarding by telling myself theres not much masive advantages keeping the wildcard anyways for future weeks. So why not? 😂 I might be wrong but hope things don’t turn bad.. 😅
I activated the wildcard Saturday. Had been planning it since Gw4. Got the chopping block out. 13 of my 15 swapped. Kept Haaland and Konsa. Main swaps were Salah downgraded to Saka and Eze to luis diaz
what you said in the middle is literally what changed my mind about wildcarding: "Not needing a wildcard doesn't mean wildcarding wouldn't be a good decision". My team has been very similar to yours, and not having Haaland just freaked me out every single game. Plus, it seems like there are quite a lot of price changes to important players and if I delayed my wildcard until gw7 (or gw8, which was my plan until gw5), I could have lost like 1m of value, which makes a big difference. I don't want to say to you that wildcarding is the correct decision or the best decision for you, basically what I want to say is that it's ok to change your opinion, but it's also ok to stick to your plan. What's important is that you feel good about it and that you keep enjoying playing FPL :)
Hi Mate, Been a while! I had the very same experience last year where I ended up at 5m OR after first 6 weeks. Don't do anything too extreme and take stupid risks.Thats what I tried, and it got worse and worse. It was a real struggle too, and I fell out of love with FPL. Once I settled down and remembered your advice it did get better and I reached my best rank of the season in the last few weeks but was a lowly 600K.
I chose to WC for GW6 coz (1) my bench has been tough for 5 GWs (Barco, Faes, J. Murphy, unused GK), (2) many assets in my team since GW1 have not been performing as expected (Gvardiol, Eze, Isak), and (3) I want more Arsenal assets. I am looking at making at least 6 changes.
Here's a tip Ross. You said you don't wanna activate your wildcard based on emotion. Well, that is one thing you can do, but what you can also do, is exactly that. Base this particular decision on emotion and activate your wildcard. If your emotions are feeling strong enough, which they clearly are, why not just bite the bullet and make a fresh start with your team. Your said yourself you're feeling "lost" with it. How about having a little restart? And catch a couple of price rises while you're at it. Or even wait till the evening next Saturday and activate your wildcard no questions asked, and catch the early price rises then.
Great video. Love your content. Your team is really good. Your payoff from a wildcard is really just Haaland and Mbeumo instead of Salah and Watkins. It is the Haaland captaincy that is the problem since anytime he gets two goals we as non- Haaland teams go backwards. I would bring in him for -4. Then you might find a wildcard can be delayed a bit longer which will be a differential later in the season.
Trust me Ross I just want what's best for your team. Scrap the whole team and Wildcard. What you wanna do moving forward is get Areola in the backline as the keeper, then you wanna triple up on the Spurs defence for extra attacking coverage. Then go for Amad instead of Rogers Sboszlai instead of Jota Bruno Fernandes instead of Saka keep Eze in the team as he's on penalties sell Calvert Lewin for Edouard as he looks like he's going to be the starting striker for Leicester eventually and sell Watkins for Welbeck, hope this helps.

Ross I have an interesting one for you, given your background in Psychology. I saw on Twitter someone posted Salah’s fixture run over the next 8 weeks and changed some of the grey fixtures to green (eg Palace, Villa) and all of a sudden he seemed way more appealing than originally. Just wanted your thoughts on this as many of us who view fixtures as a key metric can be turned off based on the “fixture colour..”
I noticed the subs rule has changed this year. It used to be the one with highest points will come but now it’s changed. Had 3 defenders on the pitch but ended up with 4 since Faes come on for Jota instead of Roger’s who would have given me an extra 8 points.
Team looks fine. Needn't WC. Don't like Eze n Jota, but they have Eve n Wol respectively. So thats good for this week. But i'd change Robinson to J.Timbers and play him ahead of Porro. 3 Arsenal then.

If u fit in Haaland, you need to upgrade keeper, couple of defenders, remove jota n eze, and calverts as ur additional striker is zero value, that seems wildcard level changes!

A few things: 1) Your team would improve with a wildcard but it’s definitely not necessary, I’d only do it if you really feel like you’re missing out on Haaland 2) If you don’t wc , there’s no point of taking a hit for Haaland imo. You need that transfer to replace Jota anyway now that his position is under threat. 3) Keep it up with the videos! I know you haven’t started amazingly but this is my first season of properly watching Fpl content, thanks to your input alongside others I’m top 250k. I don’t watch for your rank, I watch for your input ❤
Tough two weeks fella, I’m an arsenal supporter and wasn’t expecting Gabriel to get two goals. I reckon that on paper you’ve got a strong team, but a few players like iota/Eze have been points dodging (I’ve also got both). I’m wild carding this week (don’t want to miss out on players I want by being priced out) but struggling to choose players iprice wise and also the issue of fixtures/rotational risk/players being in form. Chelsea and Utd make me nervous based on inconsistencies from last season, Solanke is tempting but would like to see a bit more of him for spurs (also have concerns about their consistency). Raya, Gabriel, TAA, Mbuemo, Semeyno, Saka and Haaland are locked in so far.

If you missed the price rises, I would just roll. 11 looks good and I believe Jota starts in a pretty good fixture. He played at Wolves before which adds some spice to it, in addition to playing against a bad defense. Then WC at GW7 with 2 FT in the pocket. A lot of FPL to play yet

About 12 days ago I had Isak and people were telling me to be happy with the Wolves fixture and Fulham game, my brain was telling me Watkins had higher upside because he has home fixtures and Newcastle have not started the season well at all. You should try a similar strategy if a situation like that presents itself again.
I wildcarded into a team that has Halaand, Salah, Saka & Gabriel. But I benched Gabriel (as had Raya) and also took out Palmer, Munoz & Smith Rowe!! I think the absence of Halaand, Salah's form, the Jota headache and the price volatility would all have me leaning toward a Wildcard. And the feeling that Mbeumo and Semenyo feel essential. However, your squad seems very decent overall. What I will say is that I remember waiting to about gw8 last year before wildcarding and working out that I would've been better off going earlier, if only from a team value perspective.
Hey FPL Raptor, people always look at the result and say you made poor decisions, but honestly to me the strruggling and the willingness to go against the grain is what your channel makes so worthwile. Keep doing what you are doing. In my rookie opinion this looks like a gw7 wc to me, since you already have 2 arsenal, id roll and wc next week. Too bad for the prize rises but since you already missed some you might as well wait.
Hi Ross, I think your team is really solid for the upcoming game week. I'd suggest transferring Jota for either Semenyo or Mbeumo and see how it goes. You could use the wildcard, but there's a real chance your current team could outperform the wildcard team, that would be devastating. You had a plan, and it hasn’t worked out, (my team is similar, and I’m at 500k with a Salah-only team so a bit unlucky too) but I think sticking to it for one more week is better. BTW, your content has been a bright spot for me during a tough time, and your positive influence goes beyond your rank. Felt pretty smug when 90% of your WC draft is my squad haha 😄 lastly, data is very important but remember the essence of FPL is to go with your gut and make bravery decisions. I fortunately played Gabriel over the last two for example purely because he’s a big game player with great threat, acknowledging that he can also be prone to a booking but that’s the risk. Sometimes the answers are more obvious than we think. Love the work though man and keep cooking us up the good stuff ❤

Dont worry Ross it's still so early in the season and plenty of time to learn the lessons from the opening weeks and start making some moves. I started without Haaland but was very lucky in covering points with players like Salah, Son, De Bruyne and Smith Rowe early on. Even though my team didnt necessarily need it I pushed the button on a Wildcard in GW4 as a more aggresive play. I thought I could distribute the money across the team saved by not having Haaland but after 7 goals in 3 games you just can't go without him. I think you've mainly made sound decisions based on the data at the time but it is a bit criminal to leave £3mil in the bank for so long and not put it into your team
For defenders, my thoughts are that CS are basically nonexistent this season apart from like 4/5 teams. Cant make calls based on CS odds when theyre different by like 4/5% and at like 36% or something like that. End of the day, I think you have to play the players you think are involved in attacking situations and play at the big clubs. Just my thoughts
I say Wildcard to give you that spark back, mate. Your content and sense behind your choices is top drawer, but i feel where you're at right now, and a wildcard could be the route back to it. Make the changes, feel awesome going forward 🎉
I'd say you're only WCing to get Haaland. You already have Ars x2 + Watkins + Salah with good fixtures. There are also midweek League Cup games this week, potential injuries to navigate, but a WC could actually help with that.
Raptor, I sold eze the week of his 10pt haul, I sold Smith Rowe two weeks ago and he's hauled twice. Keep the faith in your decisions I've not been patient and that's cost me hits and hauls.
Ross, I definitely don’t think a WC this week is necessary, if you just look at your team, essentially every player has a very good fixture! I would even consider rolling and then wildcarding next week, or transfer out jota if he is leaked to be benched again.
I always prioritise fixtures over form, but it just doesn't seem to be working this year. I think that a lot of casuals have started well as a result. It'll start to even itself out. I'm just trying to win my mini-league without caring too much about rank.
Team looks fine Ross, I would just roll and then you can aggressively go in on a player/two for a week and switch out when their fixtures change the next week.

my team is similar to your wildcard but instead of diaz wood i have eze watkins, however i have konsa instead of porro and a 4.0 as cover not aina so 2 playing 4.0s is my def cover. its not a wildcard but i took a monstrous hit so... yeah. we are in similar positions i am 6 points off you as of this gw and thats before my monstrous hit, given i wildcarded in gw4 and went a bit bold and it exploded in my face. dont feel bad shit happens, im now 83 points off the pace to be top 3 in my cash league and win some money (a league which i came 1st last season) but 33 games is a long time to catch up, things will come good! :D love the content
Honest opinion, is I would say pull the trigger on thst wildcard. Here are my reasons as to why i would below. All of this is just my POV though, you know your team better than anyone so back yourself in whichever call you make. Porro - For a 5.5m defender hes not been delivering enough. No attacking return since GW1 and no CS yet this season, rough when Robertson, Saliba etc are only 0.5m more. Calvert-Lewin - A good punt and I do understand the ling term fixtures are good, but Everton are too patchy and with him being your 7th attacher you need a higher chnace of a goal (Wood, Welbeck, Pedro, Wissa (post injury) are all better at the price point. Jota - Massive rotation risk ans for a player costing 7.5/7.6 million you need those consistent minutes. Watkins - Premium ST not delivering consistent performances. Yes hes done okay recently but with more football coming (Domestic and European cups) hes likely to struggle more for Prem G/A IMO thats the big 4 players that "need" a transfer out. Which in that situation is when you tend to pull the trigger on the wildcard. Plus with the upcoming fixture swing, City Assets, Mbuemo and (In the shirter term) Arsenal assets all are in need. I also think it gives you that chance to have a mini reset. You talk about being lost, which is completely understandable. But allow yourself that time to go again. Get Haaland in and out thst behind you. Spend time crafting and enjoying making those teams again. FPL is one of rhe hardest games to convey to non-players, about how it feels (both highs and lows).
Love the videos Ross. First time I've taken FPL seriously and you've been my go to account to get advice! Currently sat on 312 points. Last week went pretty well other than finally benching Rogers for his best week. My choices were playing 2 of Calvert-Lewin, Traore and Rogers. Seemed like the right choice at the time! Interested in your thoughts on Isak, he is now 8.3 and i'm tempted to bench him for City as weird as benching an 8m+ seems and hanging onto him for everton, brighton when most have transferred him. What do you think? I could roll my transfers then and potentially look to move Salah and Isak for Haaland and a cheaper forward.

This comment may get lost in the wash, but i think this is important. Your team doesn't need a wildcard Ross. The issue you have is that your team on paper is great, but it seems you have lost confidence in it. I think the best move for you to make is to wildcard just to have some fresh names on the sheet. It may be purely psychological, kneejerk or even out of spite but what it will do is bring a fresh perspective. Keep up the fantastic content!!

Hey Ross, I think Salah since he might not be that important as you have also pointed out, I think Palmer/Saka and Diaz should definitely move in, as well as Haaland. Raya at this point I think is looking extremely important. Also Chelsea’s attack looks to be centred around Jackson as their absolute number 9. Smith Rowe and Semenyo looks to be good picks at this moment but given the fixture swings is not looking much good. DCL is a big uncertainty, Chris Wood might be a better option? Thoughts?
I started Salah with the intention of wildcarding GW6 to bring in Haaland, so for me, it was an easy decision. I'd just stick to your strategy; Salah is a strong captaincy option with Wolves being short of Defenders. Haaland and Aina had price changes Saturday morning annoyingly. But some of my targets like Raya, Diaz, and Mbeumo changed prices Sunday after I'd made my transfer. 😊 The Mosquera injury was a little frustrating since he was a nice 4m rotation option GW10-17.

Honestly, think your decision making has been good and well justified. I think wildcard is probably the right call simply because Haaland requires a restructure. Like you say, your defense looks good. Midfield is tricky, I wouldn't want Diaz still but I think Jota, Salah and Eze out might be the right move. Debating how to WC myself atm!

I don't think you should keep Luis Diaz in your team in the long term as the fixtures in a couple of weeks get a bit tricky and there could be some rotation moving forward. Trust me mate, I just want what's best for your team, maybe in the short term he's okay but maybe in a couple of weeks time you could downgrade him to like a Bowen or an Mbuemo or something like that.

The video I’ve been waiting for all week, so happy to wildcard, it’s been such a mixed start to the season for me, sat at 6 million after GW1 and now just outside the top 1 million, so not too bad, thanks Ross!
I got 77 this week and I'm chuffed, brought in both Robertson and Rogers for Gvardiol and Madueke and it payed off big time, rather than getting a total of 4 points from Gvardiol and Madueke, I got 16 from Robertson and Rogers combined! Jackson turned up big time for me as well! Had him in since GW3 and I knew with the chances Chelsea create that he'd be amongst the big points!

I’ve not really been feeling FPL this year if I’m being completely honest! I think I’ve put a bit of pressure (unknowingly and unintentionally) on myself to do well because of the time I spend watching content creators such as yourself - which I love.
I aim to just take a backseat a bit more going forward. I know I can only make the best decisions I feel are right each week and the rest is down to the 11 players on the pitch.

Haaland has 10 goals in 5 games and Newcastle are a mess, it’s not worth not having him and he’s a permanent captain, he’s messed up my rank every time i tried to captain anyone else. I would bring him in this week if I were you, WC or not, it’s such a no brainer to have the best player in the game

I'm in a very similar position to you, and I won't be wildcarding. Taking Salah and Watkins out before great fixtures just feels terrible. Going against Haaland has only gone badly because others haven't performed. If you back Salah and Watkins, stick to the plan and wildcard next week

I had the similar 3-5-2 structure. Ive wildcarded on saturday to protect price changes for players that i really wanted in my WC. I.e. Raya, Díaz, Mbeumo.. even Jackson..
I convinced myself into wildcarding by telling myself theres not much masive advantages keeping the wildcard anyways for future weeks. So why not? 😂 I might be wrong but hope things don’t turn bad.. 😅

I activated the wildcard Saturday. Had been planning it since Gw4. Got the chopping block out. 13 of my 15 swapped. Kept Haaland and Konsa. Main swaps were Salah downgraded to Saka and Eze to luis diaz
what you said in the middle is literally what changed my mind about wildcarding: "Not needing a wildcard doesn't mean wildcarding wouldn't be a good decision". My team has been very similar to yours, and not having Haaland just freaked me out every single game. Plus, it seems like there are quite a lot of price changes to important players and if I delayed my wildcard until gw7 (or gw8, which was my plan until gw5), I could have lost like 1m of value, which makes a big difference. I don't want to say to you that wildcarding is the correct decision or the best decision for you, basically what I want to say is that it's ok to change your opinion, but it's also ok to stick to your plan. What's important is that you feel good about it and that you keep enjoying playing FPL :)
Hi Mate, Been a while! I had the very same experience last year where I ended up at 5m OR after first 6 weeks. Don't do anything too extreme and take stupid risks.Thats what I tried, and it got worse and worse. It was a real struggle too, and I fell out of love with FPL. Once I settled down and remembered your advice it did get better and I reached my best rank of the season in the last few weeks but was a lowly 600K.
I chose to WC for GW6 coz (1) my bench has been tough for 5 GWs (Barco, Faes, J. Murphy, unused GK), (2) many assets in my team since GW1 have not been performing as expected (Gvardiol, Eze, Isak), and (3) I want more Arsenal assets. I am looking at making at least 6 changes.

Here's a tip Ross.
You said you don't wanna activate your wildcard based on emotion. Well, that is one thing you can do, but what you can also do, is exactly that. Base this particular decision on emotion and activate your wildcard. If your emotions are feeling strong enough, which they clearly are, why not just bite the bullet and make a fresh start with your team. Your said yourself you're feeling "lost" with it. How about having a little restart? And catch a couple of price rises while you're at it.
Or even wait till the evening next Saturday and activate your wildcard no questions asked, and catch the early price rises then.
Great video. Love your content. Your team is really good. Your payoff from a wildcard is really just Haaland and Mbeumo instead of Salah and Watkins. It is the Haaland captaincy that is the problem since anytime he gets two goals we as non- Haaland teams go backwards. I would bring in him for -4. Then you might find a wildcard can be delayed a bit longer which will be a differential later in the season.
Trust me Ross I just want what's best for your team. Scrap the whole team and Wildcard. What you wanna do moving forward is get Areola in the backline as the keeper, then you wanna triple up on the Spurs defence for extra attacking coverage. Then go for Amad instead of Rogers Sboszlai instead of Jota Bruno Fernandes instead of Saka keep Eze in the team as he's on penalties sell Calvert Lewin for Edouard as he looks like he's going to be the starting striker for Leicester eventually and sell Watkins for Welbeck, hope this helps.

Ross I have an interesting one for you, given your background in Psychology. I saw on Twitter someone posted Salah’s fixture run over the next 8 weeks and changed some of the grey fixtures to green (eg Palace, Villa) and all of a sudden he seemed way more appealing than originally. Just wanted your thoughts on this as many of us who view fixtures as a key metric can be turned off based on the “fixture colour..”
I've got Saka, Palmer, Mbuemo, Rogers and Szmodics in midfield.. 1 FT and thinking swapping Szmodics for Smith Rowe or rolling it this week

I noticed the subs rule has changed this year. It used to be the one with highest points will come but now it’s changed. Had 3 defenders on the pitch but ended up with 4 since Faes come on for Jota instead of Roger’s who would have given me an extra 8 points.

If u fit in Haaland, you need to upgrade keeper, couple of defenders, remove jota n eze, and calverts as ur additional striker is zero value, that seems wildcard level changes!
said on your video before season started the worst part about not owning Haaland due to his price would be that you wold end up buying him for a lot more if that decision backfires along with having to move round the team vs starting with him and subbing him out if he didnt start well. A few things:
1) Your team would improve with a wildcard but it’s definitely not necessary, I’d only do it if you really feel like you’re missing out on Haaland
2) If you don’t wc , there’s no point of taking a hit for Haaland imo. You need that transfer to replace Jota anyway now that his position is under threat.
3) Keep it up with the videos! I know you haven’t started amazingly but this is my first season of properly watching Fpl content, thanks to your input alongside others I’m top 250k. I don’t watch for your rank, I watch for your input ❤
Tough two weeks fella, I’m an arsenal supporter and wasn’t expecting Gabriel to get two goals. I reckon that on paper you’ve got a strong team, but a few players like iota/Eze have been points dodging (I’ve also got both). I’m wild carding this week (don’t want to miss out on players I want by being priced out) but struggling to choose players iprice wise and also the issue of fixtures/rotational risk/players being in form. Chelsea and Utd make me nervous based on inconsistencies from last season, Solanke is tempting but would like to see a bit more of him for spurs (also have concerns about their consistency). Raya, Gabriel, TAA, Mbuemo, Semeyno, Saka and Haaland are locked in so far.

If you missed the price rises, I would just roll. 11 looks good and I believe Jota starts in a pretty good fixture. He played at Wolves before which adds some spice to it, in addition to playing against a bad defense.
Then WC at GW7 with 2 FT in the pocket. A lot of FPL to play yet

About 12 days ago I had Isak and people were telling me to be happy with the Wolves fixture and Fulham game, my brain was telling me Watkins had higher upside because he has home fixtures and Newcastle have not started the season well at all. You should try a similar strategy if a situation like that presents itself again.
I wildcarded into a team that has Halaand, Salah, Saka & Gabriel. But I benched Gabriel (as had Raya) and also took out Palmer, Munoz & Smith Rowe!!
I think the absence of Halaand, Salah's form, the Jota headache and the price volatility would all have me leaning toward a Wildcard. And the feeling that Mbeumo and Semenyo feel essential. However, your squad seems very decent overall. What I will say is that I remember waiting to about gw8 last year before wildcarding and working out that I would've been better off going earlier, if only from a team value perspective.
Hey FPL Raptor, people always look at the result and say you made poor decisions, but honestly to me the strruggling and the willingness to go against the grain is what your channel makes so worthwile. Keep doing what you are doing. In my rookie opinion this looks like a gw7 wc to me, since you already have 2 arsenal, id roll and wc next week. Too bad for the prize rises but since you already missed some you might as well wait.

I think your team is really solid for the upcoming game week. I'd suggest transferring Jota for either Semenyo or Mbeumo and see how it goes. You could use the wildcard, but there's a real chance your current team could outperform the wildcard team, that would be devastating.
You had a plan, and it hasn’t worked out, (my team is similar, and I’m at 500k with a Salah-only team so a bit unlucky too) but I think sticking to it for one more week is better.
BTW, your content has been a bright spot for me during a tough time, and your positive influence goes beyond your rank. Hope you have a great day with your loved ones, and I’m sure you’ll bounce back stronger.

Felt pretty smug when 90% of your WC draft is my squad haha 😄 lastly, data is very important but remember the essence of FPL is to go with your gut and make bravery decisions. I fortunately played Gabriel over the last two for example purely because he’s a big game player with great threat, acknowledging that he can also be prone to a booking but that’s the risk. Sometimes the answers are more obvious than we think. Love the work though man and keep cooking us up the good stuff ❤

Dont worry Ross it's still so early in the season and plenty of time to learn the lessons from the opening weeks and start making some moves.
I started without Haaland but was very lucky in covering points with players like Salah, Son, De Bruyne and Smith Rowe early on. Even though my team didnt necessarily need it I pushed the button on a Wildcard in GW4 as a more aggresive play.
I thought I could distribute the money across the team saved by not having Haaland but after 7 goals in 3 games you just can't go without him.
I think you've mainly made sound decisions based on the data at the time but it is a bit criminal to leave £3mil in the bank for so long and not put it into your team
For defenders, my thoughts are that CS are basically nonexistent this season apart from like 4/5 teams. Cant make calls based on CS odds when theyre different by like 4/5% and at like 36% or something like that. End of the day, I think you have to play the players you think are involved in attacking situations and play at the big clubs. Just my thoughts
I say Wildcard to give you that spark back, mate. Your content and sense behind your choices is top drawer, but i feel where you're at right now, and a wildcard could be the route back to it.

I'd say you're only WCing to get Haaland. You already have Ars x2 + Watkins + Salah with good fixtures. There are also midweek League Cup games this week, potential injuries to navigate, but a WC could actually help with that.

Raptor, I sold eze the week of his 10pt haul, I sold Smith Rowe two weeks ago and he's hauled twice. Keep the faith in your decisions I've not been patient and that's cost me hits and hauls.
Ross, I definitely don’t think a WC this week is necessary, if you just look at your team, essentially every player has a very good fixture! I would even consider rolling and then wildcarding next week, or transfer out jota if he is leaked to be benched again.

I always prioritise fixtures over form, but it just doesn't seem to be working this year. I think that a lot of casuals have started well as a result. It'll start to even itself out. I'm just trying to win my mini-league without caring too much about rank.
Team looks fine Ross, I would just roll and then you can aggressively go in on a player/two for a week and switch out when their fixtures change the next week.
It's going to be my first full season with you and I have to say I'm rooting for you so much this season. I like how you play FPL. Maybe sleeping over it for a day or two might help you.

my team is similar to your wildcard but instead of diaz wood i have eze watkins, however i have konsa instead of porro and a 4.0 as cover not aina so 2 playing 4.0s is my def cover. its not a wildcard but i took a monstrous hit so... yeah.
we are in similar positions i am 6 points off you as of this gw and thats before my monstrous hit, given i wildcarded in gw4 and went a bit bold and it exploded in my face. dont feel bad shit happens, im now 83 points off the pace to be top 3 in my cash league and win some money (a league which i came 1st last season) but 33 games is a long time to catch up, things will come good! :D

Honest opinion, is I would say pull the trigger on thst wildcard. Here are my reasons as to why i would below. All of this is just my POV though, you know your team better than anyone so back yourself in whichever call you make.
Porro - For a 5.5m defender hes not been delivering enough. No attacking return since GW1 and no CS yet this season, rough when Robertson, Saliba etc are only 0.5m more.
Calvert-Lewin - A good punt and I do understand the ling term fixtures are good, but Everton are too patchy and with him being your 7th attacher you need a higher chnace of a goal (Wood, Welbeck, Pedro, Wissa (post injury) are all better at the price point.
Jota - Massive rotation risk ans for a player costing 7.5/7.6 million you need those consistent minutes.
Watkins - Premium ST not delivering consistent performances. Yes hes done okay recently but with more football coming (Domestic and European cups) hes likely to struggle more for Prem G/A
IMO thats the big 4 players that "need" a transfer out. Which in that situation is when you tend to pull the trigger on the wildcard. Plus with the upcoming fixture swing, City Assets, Mbuemo and (In the shirter term) Arsenal assets all are in need.
I also think it gives you that chance to have a mini reset. You talk about being lost, which is completely understandable. But allow yourself that time to go again. Get Haaland in and out thst behind you. Spend time crafting and enjoying making those teams again. FPL is one of rhe hardest games to convey to non-players, about how it feels (both highs and lows).

Last week went pretty well other than finally benching Rogers for his best week. My choices were playing 2 of Calvert-Lewin, Traore and Rogers. Seemed like the right choice at the time!
Interested in your thoughts on Isak, he is now 8.3 and i'm tempted to bench him for City as weird as benching an 8m+ seems and hanging onto him for everton, brighton when most have transferred him. What do you think? I could roll my transfers then and potentially look to move Salah and Isak for Haaland and a cheaper forward.

Your team doesn't need a wildcard Ross. The issue you have is that your team on paper is great, but it seems you have lost confidence in it.
I think the best move for you to make is to wildcard just to have some fresh names on the sheet. It may be purely psychological, kneejerk or even out of spite but what it will do is bring a fresh perspective.

Hey Ross, I think Salah since he might not be that important as you have also pointed out, I think Palmer/Saka and Diaz should definitely move in, as well as Haaland. Raya at this point I think is looking extremely important. Also Chelsea’s attack looks to be centred around Jackson as their absolute number 9. Smith Rowe and Semenyo looks to be good picks at this moment but given the fixture swings is not looking much good. DCL is a big uncertainty, Chris Wood might be a better option? Thoughts?
I started Salah with the intention of wildcarding GW6 to bring in Haaland, so for me, it was an easy decision. I'd just stick to your strategy; Salah is a strong captaincy option with Wolves being short of Defenders.
Haaland and Aina had price changes Saturday morning annoyingly. But some of my targets like Raya, Diaz, and Mbeumo changed prices Sunday after I'd made my transfer. 😊 The Mosquera injury was a little frustrating since he was a nice 4m rotation option GW10-17.

Honestly, think your decision making has been good and well justified. I think wildcard is probably the right call simply because Haaland requires a restructure. Like you say, your defense looks good. Midfield is tricky, I wouldn't want Diaz still but I think Jota, Salah and Eze out might be the right move. Debating how to WC myself atm!
