Another helpful tip. Keep the foam padding that came with your gimbal or find a similar foam. It makes it easier to put the gimbal cover and also prevents the camera from moving around during transport.
For the blades: you can get blade holders for about $10 that fit the Mini 3 Pro perfectly and are easy to put on and take off. I also suggest splurging on a hard shell case (around $30) that fits everything. The one I purchased has storage for 4 batteries plus the charging hub (with another 3 batteries in it), a spot for extra blades and charging cords, the remote control and obviously the drone. It’s got egg crate foam on top and the storage area is full foam. It comes in very handy when traveling. Great, instructional video! Thanks!

Good list Julian. I might add that for QuickTransfer to work, you must have Bluetooth (and Wi-Fi obviously) both running on your phone. Some have had issues doing the initial pairing where you need to press the power button on the aircraft to give permission to share.
Hi Brett. Thank you for letting me know about this, they seem to have added this on a recent firmware update although DJI didn’t mention it. Btw when I said “there is nothing that can be done…” I was referring to the low resolution recording which is annoying to be honest. Have a great day !
@@OttoJulian_ sorry i mis-heard. You are most correct, the host port was added in a firmware went unmentioned but I caught it in someone's video early last month. Any USB C for android apparently seems work; i've a low priced lavaliere that seems to work and i'm sure you could step up from there. Good luck!
I wouldn't say that this are the DJI Mini 3 Pro problems. Actually those are the pilot's problems. Putting wrong settings is not drone's problems. Expecting 4K resolution on the go and getting "low" resolution is also just searching in wrong place. As well as slow charging is not a problem of the drone - it's a problem of the charger and the user that doesn't know about QC.
True, but nevertheless these are “problems” that people find, even if they are their own mistakes. The intention of the video is to guide those users to understand correctly what needs to be done.

Hi there. I’m having serious issues with the RC calibration on the DJI mini pro three. Every time I turn it on, it tells me I need to calibrate the remote control. I tried to calibrate it, but nothing happens on the remote. I do the circles around both ways several times and nothing happens. I have done all the software and firmware updates. I have reset to factory settings two times and still it says RC calibration required. No matter what I do. It keeps coming back and saying RC calibration required. What can I do? it's normal to look at the screen on the controller, but it is important to be aware of the drone's location and surroundings. What I like to do is to split my attention depending on the location and what I am trying to achieve. If I'm recording something I pay more attention to the screen but the drone will always be on a "safe" location. Otherwise, it's always a good idea to bring someone with you as a spotter. This is great to have if possible.
if your drone is new it shouldn't give you so much trouble, once you open the DJI Fly on your smartphone there should be an option to connect to the drone. Just follow the indications

I can't update the return home, every time y set it to go to the controller, location or a point on the map the controller crashes and turns off. Luckely the drone stays hovering for a second until the controller automaticly turns on.
I just bought a DJI Mini 3 Pro. For some reason the props don't start when I pull the joysticks in/out at 45 degrees. I have seen many first flight videos and it seems to work for others. What am I missing? Thanks in advance.
The drone must be “ready” to fly to be able to start the motors like that. Other than that, it should work, but without further details it’s hard to pinpoint the problem

Hello can you help me? I crashed my drone indoors and the front and back sensors stopped working at night. in the morning they started working again. Another thing that stopped working at night even though it was enabled was the “Disable sideway flights”. This option is checked and even so it flies sideways. I don't understand anything anymore. Do the sensors only work in daylight? Sorry for my English. thanks.

are you turning it on completely? I would usually say that those lights are showing you the current battery charge, but 12 seconds is a lot for that. Gimbal protector must be off and correct sequence of the power button must be used. Can you check the first minutes of the Mini 3 Tutorial on my channel to verify you are doing that?
My drone gimble wont point completely down once in flight mode! I have recalibrated the gimble so that it works but as soon as the drone takes off in flight, the gimble calibration changes and the camera only wants to point straigh ahead, up at the sky or into the cavity of the drone gimble.... HELP! :D

the drone is trying to return to home because it lost connection to the RC. Are you using a microSD card on the RC controller? if so, try again without the microSD card, yours might be causing the controller to freeze
I have issues with my Mini 3 pro. I can't view the files via card reader. I've tried a few no luck, even putting the as card in my phone also has issues. Only way I can access the footage is to connect the drone to my laptop. I change cards as I change battery. The problem is the day I lose the drone, I would not be able to access the ones I swapped

I am having a problem getting my mini three pro to pair with the controller that came with it. It has worked for months, but for some reason lost the connection to the controller. I know the process to pair the drone back to the controller and have run that process multiple times however, it always times out without making the connection.

great content Otto. I am new to drone flying and having some issues with RC controller screen showing the camera view in Auto Mode. Especially during evenings or mornings, when I switch over from photo to video mode... preview on my rc screen goes black (in auto mode) and I cant see what the camera is seeing at the time.. I have to keep clicking somewhere on the screen, making the camera focus on some object in the frame and then rc screen shows perfectly balanced preview.. however as soon as I move the drone, the camera is out of focus and rc screen goes black again. I have to keep clicking on the screen to see what the camera is seeing which is very annoying. What settings do I need to change so that regardless of the light conditions, I can constantly get camera to auto adjust exposure and my rc screen to always showed rightly exposed preview for me.
Hi, I have a new DJI MINI 3 PRO. After update the firmware, the FWD AND BKWD vision sensors unavailable. I have use the latest DJI Assistant 2 (Consumer Drones Series) to calibrate the sensors. But after take off, the sensors still not available. Could you help?
@@OttoJulian_ I update the latest firmware version v01.00.0201 which released on 04/01/23. I am not using sports mode. But have problems with the Fwd / Bward sensors

@@OttoJulian_ Hey there Otto, great question👍, on the remote there's an opening screen with the list of several DJI drone icons. after several attempts of clicking the Mini3Pro icon, I had to click the 'normal' Mavic Mini3 to get it to work. (Not the Mini3Pro). Once the two synced up, I was then able to choose the Mini3Pro icon and it's been working great ever since. 👍

Hello Otto, iam having problems with the drone overheating when I'm trying to watch footage. I do not have a PC I can use. I'm new to camera drones and finding it abit difficult to use. Also I linked it to a WiFi, which is at a friend's house and maps were ok, I don't have WiFi so no maps now . Many thanks Alan.
Hey Alan. The Mini 3 Pro doesn't have an internal fan so when it's not flying it gets hot and that's the problem that you are getting. I understand that you don't have a PC, but my only recommendation is to watch the footage out of the drone, or place a big fan next to it to cool it down

@@OttoJulian_ hi no didn't lose signal, just pressed the X on the screen didn't work so tried cancel button still didn't work so had to land drone to get out of quick shots. The sun was very bright but I'm sure I pressed the X which is ment to cancel it I thought works on poi, spotlight.

you need to connect the control to the internet when you set it up. Try going to a location where you can access internet via wi-fi, finish setting up the drone and that's it
Hey, does the DJI RC honors the caching setting in FLY App? does it cache videos in SD card? I am not referring to screen recorder stuff saved in SD card but caching (I am used to get cached video in my phone with the RCN1)
so sorry about that. I highly recommend not flying indoors, since most of the time you won't get GPS signal and the drone becomes somehow unstable, among some other problems
Hey Otto, I just purchased the DJI mini 3 pro and I am having a lot of problems with the videos being choppy. The videos are hesitant and I have even tried slowing the drone. Can you shine some light what may be causing it. I’ve went from 4K 30 to 4K 25 and even lower and it still does it. I do have the all in one screen remote.
Hello Kylon. Are you using auto settings? Have you tried to use manual settings and follow the 180 degree rule? if you use 25 fps you should be using a shutter speed of 1/50th. you will need ND filters for that
Hi, I really hope you can help me. I have the mini 3 pro and the RC Controller just won't complete a firmware update. It gets to 70% and then fails. I have even tried it by connecting it to a laptop using the DJI Support 2 and it still fails. I have factory reset the controller, the first time the screen just froze showing a white screen. Fortunately, I managed to do another factory reset, but I still cannot update the firmware. The drone itself does update when connected to the laptop and using the DJI Support 2. I contacted DJI and they have asked me to return the controller, but it is brand new , only been used twice! I am hoping there is a fix rather than having to go through a return process. Hope you can help. Joogy

Hey otto I bought mine dji 3 pro but I can’t see nothing on the rc screen, it’s says gimbal is not compatible i did all the upgrades i fallow the first steps but nothing when I flight I can see the image on my screen.
John, with that information it’s hard to know what’s going on. Probably best way is to send me a small video clip to my Instagram account to take a closer look (there can be multiple reasons for this to be happening)
I was recording today and suddenly my videos would record but they wouldn’t show as recorded in the media section. Taking it back and looking on the computer it says I’ve recorded all footage.. but I couldn’t play the ones I thought didn’t record.
I think you are downloading the low resolution videos that you see on the app? You need to take the SD card that's inside the drone straight to your computer and download those files

If the microSD card that you have had an issue, these other ones should work fine. I also think that the maximum size is 512GB

the tracking sensor will not work in low light, there has to be enough light for them to work

Sensors do need plenty of light to work

not really, I would try to charge the battery outside of the drone but you would need a battery charger for that

did you try to rotate the top dial that controls the tilt of the camera?

My RC controller has recently started been stuck on an image even though the drone's camera is moving. Can you suggest why please.
interference or signal loss due to distance could be a few reasons, I'd run multiple tests in different scenarios to pinpoint the cause

I bought Mini 3 pro and I’m facing issue with the active track the problem is the drone is not following me after I select the subject in the screen the picture in the RC controller is freezing then I moved and the drone is not following its says that Drone will Return to home what should I do 😭😭, for your info I press record and go
the drone is trying to return to home because it lost connection to the RC. Are you using a microSD card on the RC controller? if so, try again without the microSD card, yours might be causing the controller to freeze
i have dji phantom 3 pro i am having problems with camera no display on rc camera plays video on card i can play video on card on my laptop
it seems like there is some kind of problem where the video feed is not being transmitted to your controller

Hi. Did you get to fix this? I'm not sure why you are getting 1080p if you are shooting at 4K, it's hard to tell without looking at your settings

I have issues with my Mini 3 pro. I can't view the files via card reader. I've tried a few no luck, even putting the as card in my phone also has issues.
Only way I can access the footage is to connect the drone to my laptop. I change cards as I change battery. The problem is the day I lose the drone, I would not be able to access the ones I swapped
why don't you transfer the files to your laptop or computer? It's not a good idea to keep the videos on the memory card

I am having a problem getting my mini three pro to pair with the controller that came with it. It has worked for months, but for some reason lost the connection to the controller. I know the process to pair the drone back to the controller and have run that process multiple times however, it always times out without making the connection.

I think the problem is quickshots seems to be set automatically in 1080p...i have to try it in 4k. I'll give you a feedback

I am new to drone flying and having some issues with RC controller screen showing the camera view in Auto Mode.
Especially during evenings or mornings, when I switch over from photo to video mode... preview on my rc screen goes black (in auto mode) and I cant see what the camera is seeing at the time..
I have to keep clicking somewhere on the screen, making the camera focus on some object in the frame and then rc screen shows perfectly balanced preview.. however as soon as I move the drone, the camera is out of focus and rc screen goes black again. I have to keep clicking on the screen to see what the camera is seeing which is very annoying.
What settings do I need to change so that regardless of the light conditions, I can constantly get camera to auto adjust exposure and my rc screen to always showed rightly exposed preview for me.
I’m Trying to think what is wrong, but can’t figure it out because you said you are already using auto mode. Does this happen during the day as well ?

Hi, I have a new DJI MINI 3 PRO. After update the firmware, the FWD AND BKWD vision sensors unavailable. I have use the latest DJI Assistant 2 (Consumer Drones Series) to calibrate the sensors. But after take off, the sensors still not available. Could you help?
which update? the one that came out today? are you using sport mode? (sensors are not available if you are using sport mode)
@@OttoJulian_ I update the latest firmware version v01.00.0201 which released on 04/01/23. I am not using sports mode. But have problems with the Fwd / Bward sensors
Ok, if you are not using any settings that turns them off then there might be something wrong with your unit

@@OttoJulian_ Hey there Otto, great question👍, on the remote there's an opening screen with the list of several DJI drone icons. after several attempts of clicking the Mini3Pro icon, I had to click the 'normal' Mavic Mini3 to get it to work. (Not the Mini3Pro). Once the two synced up, I was then able to choose the Mini3Pro icon and it's been working great ever since. 👍

double check if you are using sport mode, or if there is enough light (sensors won't work if there isn't enough light)

Hi Otto. Thank you for the mini 3 pro videos. They help a lot. I am having one problem with the FlySafe Database download. On the controller it says it’s downloading but the percentage shows 0%. I have been trying to download it for the past 45 minutes. I have a good network connection so I don’t think that is the issue. Can you help me with this?

Hello Otto, iam having problems with the drone overheating when I'm trying to watch footage. I do not have a PC I can use. I'm new to camera drones and finding it abit difficult to use. Also I linked it to a WiFi, which is at a friend's house and maps were ok, I don't have WiFi so no maps now . Many thanks Alan.
Hey Alan. The Mini 3 Pro doesn't have an internal fan so when it's not flying it gets hot and that's the problem that you are getting. I understand that you don't have a PC, but my only recommendation is to watch the footage out of the drone, or place a big fan next to it to cool it down

@@OttoJulian_ hi no didn't lose signal, just pressed the X on the screen didn't work so tried cancel button still didn't work so had to land drone to get out of quick shots. The sun was very bright but I'm sure I pressed the X which is ment to cancel it I thought works on poi, spotlight.

to the DJI RC? I don't think you can output the video from that controller. Getting the other controller might be better on those cases

Otto ! How do you feel about the Freewell VND-Mist ? I just got a set and they seem a tad overmisty ... I'm happy with the sharpening reduction but the halation is very pronounced !
I have the same set as well, and I will test it probably tomorrow if weather allows it. There is a non mist version for the VND filters as well

you need to connect the control to the internet when you set it up. Try going to a location where you can access internet via wi-fi, finish setting up the drone and that's it

Hey, does the DJI RC honors the caching setting in FLY App? does it cache videos in SD card? I am not referring to screen recorder stuff saved in SD card but caching (I am used to get cached video in my phone with the RCN1)
Yes it can cache the videos to the microSD card

Today was using my mini3 indoor and it became unresponsive with MCU error and crashed.
so sorry about that. I highly recommend not flying indoors, since most of the time you won't get GPS signal and the drone becomes somehow unstable, among some other problems
Hey Otto, I just purchased the DJI mini 3 pro and I am having a lot of problems with the videos being choppy. The videos are hesitant and I have even tried slowing the drone. Can you shine some light what may be causing it. I’ve went from 4K 30 to 4K 25 and even lower and it still does it. I do have the all in one screen remote.
Hello Kylon. Are you using auto settings? Have you tried to use manual settings and follow the 180 degree rule? if you use 25 fps you should be using a shutter speed of 1/50th. you will need ND filters for that
Hi, I really hope you can help me. I have the mini 3 pro and the RC Controller just won't complete a firmware update. It gets to 70% and then fails. I have even tried it by connecting it to a laptop using the DJI Support 2 and it still fails. I have factory reset the controller, the first time the screen just froze showing a white screen. Fortunately, I managed to do another factory reset, but I still cannot update the firmware. The drone itself does update when connected to the laptop and using the DJI Support 2. I contacted DJI and they have asked me to return the controller, but it is brand new , only been used twice! I am hoping there is a fix rather than having to go through a return process. Hope you can help. Joogy

John, with that information it’s hard to know what’s going on. Probably best way is to send me a small video clip to my Instagram account to take a closer look (there can be multiple reasons for this to be happening)

31 is plenty enough. I find myself flying while having way less than that.
I was recording today and suddenly my videos would record but they wouldn’t show as recorded in the media section.
Taking it back and looking on the computer it says I’ve recorded all footage.. but I couldn’t play the ones I thought didn’t record.

Samsung micro SD s work but videos recorded, even at high resolutions are of low quality. No adobe premiere pro nor VLC media player helps it.
I think you are downloading the low resolution videos that you see on the app? You need to take the SD card that's inside the drone straight to your computer and download those files
