Excellent documentary! We researched the different tea gatherings prior to our trip to the UK/Ireland but unfortunately never had time to actually attend a tea while in London. Probably just as well as I’m sure I would have embarrassed myself by warming my hands with the cup and picking the saucer up while firmly planted in a chair wearing jeans and a sweatshirt. 🙄 thank you for taking the time to explain this tradition and how it all got started and carries on to this day.
@@HistoricHospitality since we are on the topic of tea, can you cover the various types of tea we all know and love in another vlog? I drink a variety of tea…black, white, green, oolong etc. what’s the best tea? What brand do you recommend? Twinings is my go-to but there are obviously many other brands that might be an option. Thanks!
You out did yourself and it felt like a BBC Documentary. If only we had some actual footage of that era in an afternoon tea. Maybe someone out there does have footage and will publish it. All in all, you’re doing great with your production.
I did some filming in a friend’s hotel, Victorian. But wasn’t usable with old microphone bought and faulty sadly. Next ones will have more location footage. I’ve been looking at archive stuff to for other films. This more an explanation of something warranted it less, though would’ve been nice. But thanks, good to know it worked well… tonne went in to it.. like 4 months work 😂
@@HistoricHospitality It was well worth the hours you put into it. It’s amazing that we have very little footage of Queen Victoria as there were moving pictures back then. It’s a matter of time that a film will surface of an Afternoon Tea back then.
@@HistoricHospitality anything do able for someone who has absolutely no clue , I could go do a fancy spread when we go caravan with friends , I got all the gear and no idea 💜💜💜💜💜
Awww A very informative documentary on afternoon tea and high tea ! Well done! My mum used to do this when I was younger. Napkins to! Though I don’t drink tea now! 😊
did an entire priviledged class of people all suffer through the day being hungry and it took one person to think of ringing for room service? it seems like an odd world..
