    Hey guys and welcome to today's video which is all about copper peptides... Do you use copper peptides and if so what do you think the results are? Love you so so much x

    Hi Rob I've been using peptides (including copper peptides) in serums for a long time. I don't use the Niod regularly due to price, but did try one bottle. I like peptides for hydration, but truthfully at 50 don't think they're miraculous for antiaging. Plumping up the look of the skin will stop the tiny lines from dehydration looking visible, but real actual wrinkles and sagging - no not that I have seen. The only ingredient (apart from spf) that has improved firmness for me are retinoids - nothing else comes close for turning back the clock a little. Azelaic acid has greatly improved texture for me and improved the appearance of pores, which is a benefit to the skin looking better. Especially for women the loss of oestrogen is a major factor in sagging of the skin and as I'm through "menopause" this was when I noted the quickest aging. Retinoids gave me back the cushion in the skin and thicker/healthier skin overall, but I still have lines from having an expressive face (talking, laughing and occasional frowning throughout my life). I don't care about having a few wrinkles - I'm 50 and they are a sign of a life lived. What I didn't like was the thinning of the skin and consequent sagging. Retinoids are what helped with that. I don't use vitamin c due to having ultra sensitive skin, but pigment isn't my main concern anyway. I have always thought peptides are a bit of an "over promise and under deliver" ingredient and the fancy Niod one didn't change that for me. They are hydrating and my dry skin likes them fine, but all I see from them is the plumping from hydration tbh. This is not where I want to spend such a chunk of my budget for my skins needs. I am glad others feel they see benefits, but the majority of subscribers are younger than I am I think. There is a massive difference to what works at 30 to what works at 50, plus men's skin is genetically slightly thicker and has a more active oil gland throughout their lives. It is about being realistic and spending on what really works for each of us. Best wishes.

      Thank you so much for saying this! That was valuable for me, and I really appreciate you sharing your experience and knowledge. I was wondering what was truly effective, as all these products do add up in cost. I love NIOD’s copper peptides for its instant plumping, but it’s helpful to know that a retinoid and sunscreen is what truly works for anti-aging. Have you tried anything beyond topicals (lasers, botox, etc)? And do you have any particular favorite skincare products?

    • @lorainemcgillivray77
      @lorainemcgillivray77 2 роки тому +11

      @@CamilaSaurus Hi I have never had any procedures or injectables etc, but I've always thought it's an each to their own as far as that's concerned. All I would say is to make sure anyone you go to is properly trained and investigate reviews etc before getting anything done. Done incorrectly injectables can cause permanent disfigurement as can any procedures. It would be a Dermatologist, Plastic surgeon or Maxillofacial surgeon I would pick if I decided to do so. As to other skincare it is very dependent on what your skin needs. I'm super dry with rosacea and eczema, plus I'm 50 and menopausal. My skin doesn't tolerate vitamin c or acids etc. i have dabbled with both many times, but the irritation they cause me in turn causes more aging. If your skin is tougher, then a pure form vitamin c has been shown to increase the efficacy of your spf and acids can help the skin cells turn over faster. I hope that helps.

    I’ve been using the CAIS for a year now in conjunction with retinal. In the morning, I use an l-ascorbic vitamin c serum. These three ingredients/products have worked absolute wonders for the well ageing (anti ageing) benefits. This video is so informative for anyone who is curious about starting a copper peptide product. It is definitely worth it! 🤍

      Hi. I do the same. I use the C glow of Geek&Gorgeous in the morning (but not every day because I have sensitivity on the cheeks because it’s too acidic? ). In the evening (every other day) I use the CAIS on my face and on the eyes. Then I use the FECC of Niod for an extra dose of peptides. Then retinal on my face (A game from G&G) and on my eyes (physiolift from Aveme but I will continue with G&G when it’s finished). And a moisturiser as a final step. When I don’t use the retinal, I use a serum with resveratrol from facetheory .

    That blue shirt is absolutely gorgeous on you!
    I always seem to say it, but peptides (copper and other) are the last real point of skincare confusion for me. Based on what you and many subscribers here say, I've been overly conservative with what I do or do not combine with it. I've been using both the CAIS and SubQ Skin, and I do love both. I don't know if I'll be repurchasing CAIS at the moment, as I'm preparing to hit the road and be a nomad and am trying to downsize/simplify, but the SubQ Skin seems like it provides more "bounce" and hydration, while CAIS seems to provide more anti-aging benefits. I love, love, love what peptides have been doing for my skin, and I totally have you and everyone in this community to thank for getting me in on it. ❤️

    One tip regarding returning the skins ph after u have used your low PH products: you are better off using them in different routines bc by resetting the PH you basically render the low PH products ineffective. For example, if you use an acid then rebalance the PH, you have neutralized the acid. I would suggest just waiting 20 mins in between until the acid gets in and ur skin returns to normal on its own. Then you are not putting on an acid or vit c then immediately neutralizing it.

    I skin cycle so I use dedicated nights specifically for my Copper Peptide serum from TO. It doesn't play well with others (Vit C, Retinol, pretty much any actives lol) so I have to dedicate nights to using it but it's worth it IMO. I love using TO Buffet during the day, paired with my Vit C, E and Ferulic Acid serum from DRMTLGY and the the Copper Peptides serum at night and I do that like 5x a week. My skincare routine is still NOT streamlined, if you can believe it. Like, I don't have a tailored skincare routine at this moment because I am still experimenting and playing with various products but Copper Peptides will also be a staple in my routine.
    Edited to add after watching full video: you make so many excellent points! After I use up my Vit C Serum from DRMTLGY (even though I absolutely adore it!!), I dont think I'll be repurchasing it and instead will be using my Copper Peptides serum during the day and Tretinoin at night. Seems to be going great so I'm not stopping. On the nights I don't use tretinoin I may use lactic acid or salicylic acid. Then I wait a few minutes and put the copper peptides on then.

    7:33 Tretinoin is also an acid, which are not retinol and retinal. But many experts have conflicted views on this topic. It seems that Dr.Loren Pickard says that :
    - Tretinoin on top of copper peptides supposedly pushes copper peptides deeper into the skin. (I guess it can be potentially irritating but this is what I personally do, the hardcore way, because I want to use peptides both mornings and evenings every day lol)
    - Copper peptides on top of tretinoin will reduce irritation the tretinoin might cause. (I am not a fan of this since peptide serums are watery products and tretinoin is a cream).

    I alternate retinol, lactic acid and vitamin c in the evening usually but i dont know if id be better off using the peptides in the evening and the vit c in the morning instead? Or should i stick to vit c at night and copper peptides in the morning?

    Hi Rob, so do you use CAIS one day the then SubQ the next? Also do you think just using copper peptides once a day is enough to get the benefits? I've nearly finished my 2nd bottle of The Ordinary Buffet + Copper Peptides 1% and it's pretty good, but I feel like I want to put it on all the time! I use tretinoin at night and sometimes I still use the copper peptides with it. Perhaps I shouldn't, or would the 5.5 toner/serum buffer technique work with tret too?

    • @MadAboutSkin

      Hi hun, the buffer would work with the tret as you say so thats one great solution.. I get great results using them once a day and I think this matches my skincare price point but of course you would get more from using them more frequently.. I use the NIOD one morning then the SubQ the next.. sending you lots of love xxxxxx

Would the toner buffer the acid enough so that my CAIS will be effective? I prefer to use the acid at night because it cleans and smooths my skin so well. Help!!! • @eonarts
    @eonarts 2 роки тому +3

    When the Ordinary had their big sale in November I really wanted to try the argireline/matrixyl Botox effect and since you were recommending copper peptides I got the buffet with them. Right now the only retinol I’m using is the Ordinary’s Granactive retinoids 2% (I’ve tried their other retinoids but my skin was all meh give me back the other! Currently I’m using the A/M combo in the am (after cleanse & toner) and the buffet in the pm. Because you’ve mentioned there might be a problem with a retinoid/copper peptide I cleanse, retinoid, toner, buffet, moisturizer…. But even before I separated them I noticed a positive difference within a month! I was pretty skeptical tho. Perhaps I’ll bring back the cosrx snail mucin? So far this winter the 2 things that I see making my skin better are the copper + peptides and the supplement Helio ( not sure if you can get this in the UK?). The supplement took about 2.5 bottles to start showing a difference (I was gonna give up on it but instead bought another bottle). Thanks to you videos I’m discovering new skincare that doesn’t break the bank!

It's a prescription retinoid, but it's stronger and a different chemical than Retin-A (for example, doesn't become less effective when used in sunlight, etc.)

Skin hasn't changed that month, so maybe the peptide is denatured, but other people out there in YT land use the same combo w/o issue.
