I agree wholeheartedly with your logic on the "new truck" topic. As long as you are managing the maintenance and willing to deal with the occasional frustration of a breakdown (and your company works with you) then the older truck is absolutely the way to go. It doesn't take much research to see that the new trucks are not without their own problems, and downtime is downtime.
You are smart enough to know when the pendulum swings over and the frequency and costs of the repairs and downtime no longer make the old girl the wiser choice.
Safe travels Josh...
When we RV, we'll overnight at Walmart. We as many other RVers will go in and let them know we are parking overnight and always spend money. There is room for several RVs and trucks when everyone uses their head and are considerate and polite.
good Morning Josh and Diesel have a good and safe day
Hi Josh, I find it funny at the beginning of the vid you were talking about our cheap prices here. I live in Kansas, with our 8.9% sales tax we find it very expensive to lol. Not the highest in the country, but it is up there. Compare it to neighboring Missouri at 4.2% percent and that's why most Kansans (like me) who live close to MO drive over there and fill up our fuel, buy food, liquor, etc.
Live in Kansas, but mooch off Missouri. Cheapest way to live...
Like the vids, keep em coming!
Edit: by the way, Sa-line-uh is the correct "native" way to pronounce Salina :-)
Theres always a warm place here for you and Diesel anytime
Today marks 1 year since I found you trucker Josh. Can't believe it, back then you had 12,000 subs and now have over 30,000. Big day for me, keep up the good vlogs and stay safe
that's funny as soon as you said 299 for diesel, it switched to 305!
Great show again watching your flogs daily on UA-cam from the Netherlands (Amsterdam )
Keep up the good work
Were not all bad shots, I take pride in my aim, I use to be known as Dead eye, and at 63 years old, I am still a pretty good shot.
Top of this fine morning to you
I agree with Barry, a newer truck may have a higher payment But you're more reliable for employer and customer which means more and longer mile loads... Because all can depend on you. :)
Greetings from Romania. I look at you because you're a funny guy, make me laugh.Keep up the good work.
As always, thanks’ for taking the time to make this video! And I support this site. ~M~
G'day and God bless. Keep on rolling Josh and Diesel :-)
Hi TJ You were in my part of the Country. I grew up in Salina, pronounced Sal eye na. Now we live in Sedgwick Co. which as you now know is approximately 90 miles south of Salina on 135. I have a brother in Salina who drives a Semi for a living like you. If I had known you were gonna be here I would have extended a welcome to you. ?? I hope your stay in KS was good.
You pronounced it correctly. I had to go through Limon on my move up to Colorado Springs. It is snowing here now.
@ 4:42 on the video the price @ the pump changed on camera from 2.99 to 3.05 Awesome!
it was a SWIFT trailer haha.. Definitely reasoning behind that spray paint.
You drove right by my house D: I live right off of 25.
I live in Memphis and I know your videos are a week behind so you have already passed through I was on the look out for you sorry I missed you. Keep safe.
Sam Walton passed in 1992.
though the current CEO is Doug McMillon.
But I completely agree, even if it's 2 hour parking that would be great.
Hi josh
Do truckers have small generators in storage to provide hydro for a heater and lights . A Honda 2000 would be ideal if your broke down.
Too bad we didn't get to see you in Colorado. Looks like you only stopped in Limon (pronounced Lie-Mon) which is a bit far from Denver. Good thing you were not in Limon during the spring and summer. Tornadoes hit in that area a lot and it is not fun. Safe travels due! Peace
HI you 2 that video was funny in spots enjoyed it keep warm much love take care.
Another suggestion, why don't all truck stops use the winterized fuel in the winter?
Keep some baby wipes to wipe diesel with when he misses.
Seen at my Catholic college years ago written next to a urinal: "Aim carefully, the Monks here have bare feet".
Josh if you buy a new truck, buy a glider kit and do a rebuilt 6nz motor
And good in Summer and spring
Greetings from Goddard Kansas! :)
Kansas is a good place to live because I live in Kansas
Morning Josh from down Alabama way. It would be hard for Sam Walton to watch these vids. He died in 1992. :-) Their oldest son is also a Samuel, Samuel Robson Walton but known as Rob(not a good name for Wal Mart owner, huh)
you should stop at newell's truck stop in newton, ks next time!
It's an awesome family owned truck stop, get the cheese fries lol!
I don't know Josh, my wife tells me that woman's washrooms are usually pretty disgusting too.
Safe driving and keep warm buddy,
Thanks,
"Sledgewick" haha Sedgewick? Worked that area a few yrs ago.
You just keep that 03' a goin. Theoretically with a maintenance budget keep adding new parts nonstop and still be further ahead than a new truck with all the tree hugger emission problems & loss of revenue. That Pete was the proof there. In Cheyenne tonight, diesel at Sapp Bros. $2.75 gal.
Always thought if Wallyworld put in truck diesel & parking it would put the big name truckstops in check and stop the gouging the stick it to us on product prices. But as long as slob truckers keep leaving a mess, we never really will be welcome there.
Right on.
Hey trucker Josh, I actually live in Salina KS, and the second Salina you Pronounced is right.
Josh, you thinking of maybe upgrading to a newER truck? Maybe not brand new, but something a little newer, with some more options, etc? In this day and age, O/O's buying brand new just doesn't make any money sense, no matter how much they make (assuming you aren't doing some crazy specialized hauling).
I love Kansas and I live in Senaca Kansas
Good video Josh, by the way that cop @ 11:54 maybe he knew that it was you the Trucker Josh, that's why he waved at you...
It's L-eye-ma Sa-leye-na. It's a difficult first language too, though I talked to a young man from Brazil one time and he thought Spanish was the most difficult. He spoke; English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
I leave my room for a minute then when i walked in to my room I see my dog whichin tucker josh lol
way to El Paso today! Should be warmer then Iowa!
Here in Hearst, Ontario the gas is 99.9 cent per liter.
Actually english is probably one of the easiest languages to learn. I've learned a lot just by using the internet, playing video-games and listening to music. Of course it's not perfect, there's errors here and there (plus my pronunciation is terrible, as I never really spoke in english with anyone else), but I think that it's not that bad, considering that I never really went to a language school or something like that, and I can chat with people on the internet just fine. Some languages on the other hand are terrifying (Russian or anything with cyrillic alphabet) lol
Anyway, enough of me rambling on, great video Josh! :-)
Croats doesnt use cyrillic letters they use latin letters as rest of the world. Croatian language is tough because of pronunciation and the tenses
Vucak Thanks for te correction, I was probably confusing it with Bosnian, which I think uses both (or at least Bosnian friend told me so) lol
it could be bosnia and hercegovina because it is divided in 3 parts, possible in serbian part of bosnia
With regards to the Diesel in truck pee situation, why not try grabbing some baby wipes and wipe him down before he climbs in? Just a thought to share with ya.
I'm not from Kansas, but people I know who have visited Salina call it sah-leen-uh. I am originally from Syracuse, NY, where one of the main city streets is Salina Street, pronounced sahl-eye-nuh.
good video josh.
Salina,Ks is pronounced with the "I" not the "e" sound. Limon,Co is pronounced the same. Thanks for the vids!
Pronounced "Lie - man". You passed by my old stomping grounds in Colorado...I lived just southeast of Denver. Now call South Carolina home...once I leave Kuwait :)
Wouldnt life be boring if we all had the same opinions. Whats a vlog if you cant air your own opinions and thoughts. Each of us is different from various walks of life with differing povs, thats what makes us unique, if Josh has one veiw and i have a different one doesnt give us the right to blast him about it.
Yeah fun fact, someone had the bathroom signs switched up top and I walked into the females bathroom in farm fresh.... It wasnt switched on the doors i just didnt pay attention
Sweety....Sam Walton...died years ago.
When I see comments about personal points of view and disagreements thereon, I always think of a saying I read many years ago.... If you disagree with somebody, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, if he gets mad, he'll be a mile away and barefoot.
Really crazy = Kansas,,, can zus,,,, Arkansas = R can saw
You stop in my home town but I'm out on the road
Josh, ever thought about a ProStar or a 9900i? (I know you like Volvo)
I'm only twenty minutes from limon if u ever come back through we could meet
Invest in a glider kit
Sam Walton has passed away
they are usually closed
After completing 3,000 miles of my own last week, only to have my back collapse the day after getting home, I realize that I could NEVER be a "long haul trucker." My back wouldn't stand for it (lol). Question: do you keep a stash of American Dollars for your purchases in the States? I mean.......you can only use Canadian money so far, right? Still waiting to hear if you use your CB at all..
G'day mate. How you going?
say hi to the street outlaws
Do you ever have a problem finding parking in the truck stops in the states or the lower 48 ???
?
Do your calculation include missed or cancelled loads that you may have lost money not taking the loads?
josh the next time your in my back yard please get ahold of me and i will buy you some dinner! i live in kingman,ks just west of sedgwick. it would be an honor to met you sir. Nest time your in the area just send me a messege on here or facebook i follow you on facebook.
you should have given him the finger just in case he did it to you lol
Limon, Colorado is pronounced LYE-men. Salina, Kansas is pronounced sa-LYE-na.
OGDEN IS PRONOUNCED.... AHHG DEN WITH THE G COURSE AS IN EGG. LIMON IS SPANISH FOR LIME. PRONOUNCED...LEEMOAN.
it's limon just like its spelled
Random fact of the day Limon is Lemon in Spanish.
His children run the company know
hey man you go through Wichita or not
$1.34 per Litre AUSTRALIAN for Diesel
WTH Why dont any of you truckers cut over from Springfield MO to Tenn through Southern Mo on 60 63? its actually shorter I think
Barbara Miller It is shorter but it is pretty hilly and a fair amount of stop lights. It's difficult to get good fuel economy running that route making it more cost effective to run a few more miles for better conditions.
I live near 60 I don't know how long it's been since you have been through here but with the exception of maybe 3 lights just outside of Springfield it's all 4 lane with no stoplights
Barbara Miller Came through this morning. I'm in Dexter waiting to unload. Missouri has done a great job making it better but most people shy away. There is even some decent truck parking along the route.
Ive always thought a big truck stop like a name brand one would do great around the Winona or Van Buren area
Barbara Miller The ones they have are just fine. It's not a bad drive.
13:24 Try Hungarian for a second language. There's a challenge for you. :)
Trucker Josh great video today is my birthday I'm 19 and I was wondering if you could do a special shout out for me if possible. As always awesome vlog.
Salina (s uh l EE n uh) :-)
Its l"eye" mon. And sal"eye"na
It's sa-Lie-na

About English being a hard second language to learn: no, definitely it's not.
Old Sammy boy has been dead for years
Love ur videos! Please STOP SUPPORTING WAL-MART! They DO NOT SUPPORT THEIR EMPLOYEES!! Costco is the place to go, they treat their employees with respect and a fair wage unlike WAL-MART
