Ling Yunche never stepped over the line with Ruyi. He was devoted to her to the end. He lived a life of sorrow and she lived trying to give him friendship and care. Xiangjian is so direct and unafraid of any consequences. Emperor is a childish brat. Ling Fei deserves her ending.

I see Linh Yunche and Ruyi as the last pieces of purity and goodness in the hearts of Ling Fei and the Emperor. This story arc really highlights how both of the villains are trying to purge themselves of this kindness in their old self. Is it in pursuit of more power? By the end of the series though only Ling Fei can truly admit to her evils. I suppose she’s forced to admit it. But there is no higher power to do that to the Emperor, so he gets away from it all with a free conscience. He is free to mourn for Ruyi as though he shouldn’t be the guiltiest of them all.

I don't understand why I keep commenting maybe becaused of so much hatred of what was happened to empress. She died when no one knows and alone byherself.
