This expansion feels more promising for solo play. I think i like it, I cant afford it now (Baby expenses...)but will I hope i will be able to look for it in the future, plus all the other content for this one. I like the game and Mico`s art...exceptional as always. I like that they added the walls and the blessings and also the tokens that gives you a 3rd action. I also like that the stack of monsters is shuffled, I actually love that. What I dont`t see though are the domains and the dukes, and i really liked the domains. Overall it seems really interesting, more than the core game solo mode. Hmmm....! Oh nice playthrough, as always, by the way!
Are we suppose to add a monster the moment it’s empty (after they attack). Or are we suppose to refill the monsters and scrolls after the “end phase” which is after we finish the page of the book? I read it as if we refill those after the page.
I just stumbled across this game, and now I am watching everything I can to see if I should add it to my collection. Does this game scale well with 4 - 5 people? Also the 2nd edition is being released of the base game soon, do you happen to know what is different? Really awesome playthroughs!
Thank you! I only played at 2 and 3 with the prototype, but the final version along with the 2nd edition of the base game is on the way to me so I'll know pretty soon :) there'll be more videos for sure!
Yes it scales very good with 4 or 5.The Games wont last that much longer with more players! Its a very good, not to complex gateway game, i love it and also start collecting everyting :)
I find the magic mechanism makes the game too easy. Players just end up hoarding loads of magic. I house rule it so that for every magic spent to replace a strength or gold, you must spend the corresponding resource. So if you need 4 strength, instead of using one strength and 3 magic, you’d have to spend 2 strength and two magic. This makes it so the resource needed is the prominent resource needed in these situations instead of using magic all of the time.
Yeah that is actually kind of what I was feeling based on the playthroughs I saw. There doesn't seem to be any negative to hording magic otherwise, so that is probably a house rule I will play with should I pick up the game. Do you have any experience with 4 - 5 player games? Any scaling issues?
@@GallagherEvan The game is balanced, as designed. Magic may look OP - but it's not. No mods or "house rules" necessary. Plays well with all group sizes.
