Definite Superfruit vibes here. The set is the same set they used for SF Deny U too. Incidentally, Mitch has a cover out - Billie Eilish’s ‘Your Power’. It will blow your socks off.
This song is from their latest album, The Lucky Ones, which is completely original songs. Matt and Kevin are FIRE on this song, but the entire album is amazing!!
I just can't get over the insanity of Kevins beatboxing in this one! Every song on this originals album is just brilliant! Looking 4ward to watching you do another one soon!! Thank you!!
The bedroom set was the same for each member in a pro studio, but they all brought in some of their own personal stuff from their own bedrooms to decorate each of their individual bedroom setups. This one is primarily written by Scott & Mitch, with some additional "sweetening" by others. All of the songs on The Lucky Ones are originals, and it is their masterpiece, by far their best album so far. This album was actually finished by the beginning of 2020 and they had planned to release in in the spring, but shelved it after the pandemic started to work on other projects. They released a couple of the songs during 2020 as singles (Happy Now and Be My Eyes), but saved the album for February 2021, then put out three more singles (this one, The Lucky Ones and Love Me When I Don't).
Hi Mrs Rock Solid! Would love to see you react again. And it's perfectly okay to have crushes on all of them, I do. I had coworkers who would make fun of me for picking out who was singing when. And then I showed them the Hallelujah video. They stopped giving me as bad of a time.
I really like how you shake your head “ No! Can’t be?!!” after only a few seconds into the song. Lol. So much fun. I love all their originals. The Lucky One album is sooooo good. 🤗
Book and Bair were the album's primary producers (Ben Bram took a "co-producer" credit on the album) and those two also were listed as co-writers on each song. That might have been more of a contractual thing than them actually writing, other than some lyrical suggestions. I think Kevin, Matt & Kirstie may have made some suggestions here and there as well to get co-writer credits, but this one was primarily written by Scott & Mitch.
Dan Book gets a writing credit on 6 of the 11 songs on the album and Matthew Bair only has one writing credit for Happy Now. You can check all the writing credits on Genius Lyrics.
The whole album "The Lucky ones" seems to be a reflection on the past 10 years of PTX being together whether it be a reflection as a group or a reflection on life in general. There are some really great songs on the album. My favorite on the album is "Never Gonna Cry Again" there's no official video for it other than just a picture of their album on the video but omg you should check it out if not in a reaction but on your own :)
Congrats on backing up before restarting. It's so easy to lose a real PTX jewel in those between spaces, especially on a first viewing. Great reaction, as always!
They recorded separately in the same room. The decorations were changed for each of them. Scott, along with others, wrote it. Based on true life apparently because Mark brings him coffee in bed. Oh, if you hit the left arrow the video will back up 5 seconds. It’s a good way of avoiding missing an interesting bit.
One of my favorites off the new album!! Kevin really blew me away with this song, especially at the end with that little skip he did! And I can never say enough about Mitch. Thanks for the reaction!
Kevin is cruuuuushing this! Kirsty, Mitch in alien-land, Matt's amazing bass and sweet smile, and Scott...Scott! Can we just talk about those riffs and runs for a minute...WHAT?! I'm glad you reacted to this. To be honest I didn't love it at first, it took me a couple listens but I like it now. Always love PTX though! There's a tiktok or a short youtube video floating around somewhere of short clips Scott recorded every day of his boyfriend bringing him coffee in bed. It's so sweet. Just in case you forgot ...Black is The Color of My True Love's Hair- Peter Hollens and Avi. (psssst, you should do this one with Mrs. RSR)
💯 Lisa, the man is just beyond talented! I would bring Mrs RSR coffee in bed but I am pretty sure I would make a terrible cup as I don’t drink the stuff haha! We have been looking at songs to do for her next video she will be in, thanks for the suggestion!
Love everything about this one: the message of the song, the out of this world performance, the gorgeous video, amazing. The whole original album is fantastic. Thanks for the great reaction!
Great reaction as always! I'm so glad you're back! From the album notes: Written by Dan Book, Mitch Grassi, Scott Hoying, Matthew Koma. (I'm old fashioned and buy their albums because I like having a hard copy and because of the album notes) Probably the reason it has a Superfruit vibe as one commenter mentioned. I've found on this original album, songs the individual(s) write, the members of PTX are the leads, except for Kevin and Matt. (but sometimes Matt). Also the room that it is shot in is the same room that HAPPY NOW was shot in, of course with different props. I know there is another one besides the one previously mentioned, but just can't think of it right now. (Oldtimers brain 😊 ) Thanks again!! Oh and hello to Mrs. Rock Solid! 👋
I love how you got sucked in and was hypnotised by this song, so much you couldn’t stop and had to insert some copyright blockers 😉 I guess you’ve played this song over a few times by now!
Haha, if you watch close you will see me looking at the video timer and in my mind I’m like, I need to stop it so I don’t get blocked but I can’t, it’s just too good!
Definite Superfruit vibes here. The set is the same set they used for SF Deny U too. Incidentally, Mitch has a cover out - Billie Eilish’s ‘Your Power’. It will blow your socks off.
I will have to check that Carole, thanks for the info and for the suggestion!
This song is from their latest album, The Lucky Ones, which is completely original songs. Matt and Kevin are FIRE on this song, but the entire album is amazing!!
I agree 100% Grace, I can’t wait to listen to the rest of the songs, thanks for watching!
I just can't get over the insanity of Kevins beatboxing in this one! Every song on this originals album is just brilliant! Looking 4ward to watching you do another one soon!! Thank you!!

Hi Mrs Rock Solid! Would love to see you react again.
And it's perfectly okay to have crushes on all of them, I do. I had coworkers who would make fun of me for picking out who was singing when. And then I showed them the Hallelujah video. They stopped giving me as bad of a time.

This songs speaks to many in such a personal note. It's so boppy, with such a deep message.

Which is what makes me think it’s a Superfruit song.
I believe Scott & Mitch wrote this one. Love it!
That’s awesome Becca, they are all so talented, thanks for watching!
I really like how you shake your head “ No! Can’t be?!!” after only a few seconds into the song. Lol. So much fun. I love all their originals. The Lucky One album is sooooo good. 🤗

Matt totally crushed this one, especially his saucy C2’s 🙂
For sure Miles, his voice is just silky smooth, thanks for watching!

That is such a cool thing Aaron, I will have to check out Never gonna cry again, just from what I have heard so far I am impressed with the new album!
Congrats on backing up before restarting. It's so easy to lose a real PTX jewel in those between spaces, especially on a first viewing. Great reaction, as always!

Thank you so much Curtis, glad you enjoy it, thanks for watching!

That is awesome M MG, I just love how this video was done! Thanks for the tip and for watching!
This is definitely one of my favourites of their original songs. I believe Scott and Mitch wrote this one, with Ben Bram helping with the arrangement.
It’s so good Maerahn, thanks for the info and for watching!

Oh and hello to Mrs. Rock Solid! 👋
That is so cool Linda, great info, I love those little details! Mrs. RSR says hello and welcome to Patreon, and we are so happy to have you!
I love how you got sucked in and was hypnotised by this song, so much you couldn’t stop and had to insert some copyright blockers 😉

Mitch needs to stop staring adoringly into the camera like that. He is giving me palpitations.
Haha, he has that down to a science doesn’t he Bridget, thanks for watching!
All the songs on new album is originals except the 90,s medley everyone has songs on it
Very cool Beverly, thanks for the info and for watching!
The 90s medley wasn't on the album. It was recorded and released a few weeks after the album was released.
