I'm thinking on doing a barley pettet mix for next year's race season
I use pellets for breeding and raising. I do add some seed throughout the breeding as a treat.
As far as pellets I swear by vetafarm mini maintenance pellets for my pigeons they absolutely looooove it and its a much higher quality then pigeon or poultry pellets. 👍
For your hot weather no peas until u fly over 300 miles. Training til 250 miles race for me is wheat barley safflower corn milo.

oh no! yeasterday my pigeon has been hit by a hawk under her wing. oh god there was a lot of blood and so desgusting, but she was so lucky, i checked her today and it started to close (it was a hole under her left wing) so she was so lucky, it's nothing major.
Many fanciers use two tablespoons a day and others one.

good mix i would add hemp seed and barley forget the sunflower and a handfull of calcium carbonate powder works for me
In the breeding loft put more corn as it keeps the body warmer for longer and it’s the same for broody hens and stuff

I like your system kudos to you, I do mixes as well and not only that I change it up so that they are feeling different energy levels, I also coat their food on certain days with garlic, cinnamon, and other spices with a little olive oil and apple cider vinegar, and the water always has a natural supplement additive my water is well water so it's not heavy like city water that has chlorine in it
I think we over think the feed ... Think about it culturly we constantly over do it on viatamins . Thats why my breeder mix is corn and laying pelets.

mung beans are available in any Indian or Sri Lankan supermarkets mate! we sell them in our supermarket in Sydney. try adding some Finger millet
(kurakkan in Sri Lanka) they contain a lot of protein as well as horse grams. try visiting your local Indian supermarket.

For mung beans you could try any Asian / Indian store. Expect to pay around $5 / KG though. Or I know it's a long way for you, but if you're ever up this way Swan Valley Birds on Gt Northern Hwy just north of Midland, They're still not much cheaper though.
Oh, and Swan Valley Birds pigeon mix doesn't have the big corn, only the small stuff. It also has mung beans already in it and seems to be less percentage wheat than a lot of the other ones you find here.

If you're unable or unwilling to vaccinate then you need to prevent mosquitoes having access to the pigeons. They're the main vector of pox spread.

If you use it for 5-7 days, I hope you will get better result.

1 tbs per bird is a lot more feed than you have marked on your cup!!!!!!!! There are 16 tbs in 1 cup!!! 20 birds = 1 1/4 cups. By your measurements
