Great montage on the city. As a Belfast boy I recently discovered a link between the cities via the Rail ways connected because the clothing and cloth trade. This series makes even more sense when you look at the old railway maps of Ireland

Living in OZ since 1978, I've missed out on so much of Limerick's flourishing. Having only just come upon your wonderful series, I'm learning (& relearning) a lot about my home city. I say to ppl 'a day I don't learn something new, is a wasted day'. 👏@@LimericksLife

My late mother's family origins were in the Meelick/Parteen district. She had a grandmother 'Nan Halloran', which makes me 🤔wonder if there was a connection to 🩺Sylvester's family, as Caherdavin was 'in the country' on the Clare side of the Shannon back then.

There could easily be a connection, if my memory serves Sylvester came from a large family

I love your research & walking tour histories, as it's been 45 years since I emigrated to the Antipodes. Also, Dr Paul O'Brien's research. 👏🙏@@LimericksLife
