I really love this wicked Willys especially the chassis and suspension and the 6 speed transmission

The power wagon was designed with farmers in mind. Why? because there was a shortage of tractors after the war. The PTO was very handy running their equipment. Later, they became popular as a good hunting vehicle. My family owned several for both purposes. They are truly great, just don't expect a cushy ride.

I had a 48 Willis overland pickup, didn’t need shocks as spring so heavy it couldn’t bounce, once hauled 4 ton of sand , drove with one finger, had 327 engine , with 460 gears, top speed was about 70 but it would never bog down under extreme loads. Finally broke the frame with hug h load of rocks and gave it up.

If those are original willys springs , the shocks aren't needed , they don't move. Not a cv joint it's a double carden joint , spelt wrong

Always wondered what happened to Stacey David. Last I saw he was behind a pay wall.
