That's pretty ingenious Aaron, and I am sure it will be fantastic for ripping that evil wisteria over at the Old Byrd Farm. I think Blue just needs something to herd and he picked the tractor, lol. Thank you for sharing.
When we needed counter weights. We would lay a could 55 gallon plastic drums horizontal on top of the grader box and ratchet strap them down and fill them up with water (making sure the bung hole was positioned to the high point and the smaller hole directly at the bottom for draining
I have a 55gallon drum that will be getting filled with concrete and welded so I can put it on my lift. Just needed something to use until I finish rounding up all the stuff to make it.
We the exact same tractor and I've had climb on the mower deck for ballast when moving some 900lb hay bales off the car trailer. Never a dull moment on the farm. Necessity is the mother of invention and a tight budget forces creativity. Pretty sure a few OSHA manuals spontaneously combusted on some of the sketchy "bush fixes" we've come up with. BUT it got the job done. We survived. No missing limbs, fingers, toes, etc.
Homesteading is all about creative thinking, trouble shooting and problem solving. What Kubota lacks... the Best way and the Wright way will take care of it!! 💪😉👍👍 Enjoyed!!
You guys are just like my brother. He can fix or rig up anything, fixes old vehicles, and sells them, and anything else ,he can build anything, drive anything. He learned from our Dad,we never had money to just go to town and get what we needed. It's wonderful seeing you guys figuring out problems that may come up.👍🥰
👍👍👍 Good job, n some good thinken. Being a woman I would never had thought of doing something like that. I’m impressed Aaron your a real smart guy. Of course your side kick was having some wardrobe trouble with his overalls. Hahah. I couldn’t resist. Hope we get to see the next phase of this video. ♥️♥️😊👍👍👍
You need a counterweight on the back of your tractor get a couple barrels with cement in them but I’m dry put them on the back of your grater I will counterbalance
Ive got same tractor L 3130 got samebucket and forks it with 860 lb bush hog on back still want lift 5 eight long cross ties just seem like the bucket dont have enought lift back end stays on ground and wheels are loaded.
Mom had big black Cat we called Satan he was huge, one of the neighbors walked by with their German Shepherd and he hissed that dog on Satan, wrong move he tore that dog up
@@Appalachianeclectic, Sounds like you cut one a foot over on each side (to cut off later) notch out where the rails are. lift it (making it just light enough to lift and set on a stand). back under it, raise the grader, strap in place then pull away. Hell, I don't know, just trying to help. Your way works just fine.
I got ya. I have played around with that but a log to match the weight of the concrete ends up being way to big!!! Thanks for watching and I always listen to any ideas given!!
If you had watched any of my videos before you would have not needed to waste time with your bullcrap comment. I have had the back end of this tractor in the air more times than I can count with the same logs.
Aaron, you two are certainly moving those 50 lb bags of concrete easily. Buff, huh? Hurrah! It works!
Good job guys, now you're ready to go!

I admire the way you solve all your problems. I love to wacth your videos.
Tractor tipping!!!!! LOL
Works for me!
Enjoyed seeing you solve the problem Aaron. Robert Noticed the way you moved the bags of concrete good job.
Was beginning to wonder if it was going to pop wheelies!!! Lol
Your thinking that right
Nice thumb nail. Ride em cowboy! 😊
Popping a reverse wheely. The dogs barking is all part of your homestead, no worries to us
brilliant !!! I really enjoy watching you work all around the homestead ... you are indeed making it a home
Repurposed, reused is always better than running out and purchasing something.

Use sugarbeet juice for loading the tires its safe to be around animals, in case of a leak or puncture.
"Best Family Homestead"
...to me, is also The Watch & Learn Channel.
Ingenious!
You two are so fun to watch.
Great video Aaron 👍. There isn't a problem you can't solve.
Aaron, be careful 👌

Another great video of the two boys working in unison!! A great way to start the week off! Well done!!
That was brilliant Aaron! ☺💋🇺🇸
Love the problem solving ! Work smarter not harder😊 Your love of preserving your homestead is awesome!💜

LOVE watching someone use their brain!😁 Thanks for sharing a good hint.
The thumbnail cracked me up
hey up there
As always, job well done. Great tips on your channel. Enjoy watching and learning from your experience. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe. God bless. 🌺 🐾
👍👋
Great idea. always look forward to watching your and Robert's videos.
Love the bush fix and works well Great video Aaron and Robert Thankyou
Hey you two oh my I hope you get it weighted down enough. I can't wait to see how those boards look
My daddy always kept a tractor wheel hub in the bed if his farm truck in winter to provide ballast. Farming/homesteading requires resourcefulness.
The men in my family use the term "come along". I think rachet strap is more accurate.
Extra weight is good but the first time your forks were under the second log also.

Build a weight box. No need to load the tires. Also check the load capacity for the loader and front axle. Bearings and seals are expensive.
Not while it is under warranty!!!

Good morning from Al!pretty good idea for the tractor. Question: what battery pack tools are you using. That is one quick cutting circular saw.
Where there's a will, there's a way
Great ideal glad it all worked out. Aaron have you lost weight? You looked smaller to me.
Someone I know likes to blow up other people's engines!! Touche! 😅

Think you need to cut the log in half
🚜🚜🚜🌳🌳🌳
My Body Dont Let Me Do Dat No Mo. But I Can Look At You Doing It All Day LOL. I Am 3 Yr Old-er Than Your Dad.
Just don’t reverse down a steep hill 👍🍻
Are you in GA also and if so where? I live in Lagrange Ga! I just subscribed when I came across your chanel
I am just south of you in Hamilton!!
@@Appalachianeclectic your not far away at all. are you friends with kinfolk farms ? They do UA-cam too

Looks as if your prongs were under two logs. Could be your problem.
Lol
I would have just chained a heavy log to the backend and used the extra money saved elsewhere.
And how exactly do I get a big heavy log on the back of the tractor???? My lift is attached to the front. ?????

If you had done your first lift the way you did your second you would not have needed to waste time with a bullcrap counterweight...
